The inspector did not know the law or regulations regarding clear UV barrier on the front windshield. The inspector attempted to show me a placard from 2019, which he misinterpreted. I have had the same barrier film on my truck for 10 years. Per Texas Administrative Code, Title 37, Part 1, Rule 21.3. I arrived there and was greeted nearly as I made a full stop, they immediately took my car into a bay and 10 minutes later it was done. My car requires full synthetic or a synthetic blend which is usually $75+ after the fees, so I was really surprised when I went to pay and was charged $63... So got it done much faster than prob any place I've taken a car in nearly 30 years of driving, but also at least $10 cheaper than the cheapest place I've found (Walmart, but also comes with 1 hour+ for the way)

She even said she had it right there and I could pick it up from them, but she would not send it through to the state for me (something I paid her shop to do in the first place). Her demeanor led me to believe that she didn't report the inspection on purpose to inconvenience me, as I had apparently inconvenienced her when she did the inspection. Also, she told me to stay in my car during the inspection and she never even drove it, which I now know is illegal. My family will be going elsewhere. I ended up getting another inspection just down the road. Much more positive experience and i was able to register my vehicle online the next morning.
