I've gone here for the past four years because it's a close and nice walk for me to take my golden to get groomed. And I love that I can do self service washes in between his full grooming times or when they are fully booked. But the last few times, the front desk staff has been unfriendly. I've tried to just play nice and ignore it but today was the last draw. As I was drying my golden and noticeably struggling because he hates the blow dryer and moving all over the place, the one of the front desk stops me and asks me to blow in the other direction that fur is going everywhere. I said: sorry but he doesn't like the blow dryer and don't you see me struggling already?! Then he proceeded to pluck his hair as if all the fur went in there directly and put a mask on (for dramatics). At the end at checkout, I explained to him that I didn't appreciate his quip and the fact is that he works at the front desk of a grooming salon... that it was rude and made me feel so uncomfortable that I left with a wet dog. Anyway, I try to always support small businesses but not at the cost of poor customer service. Too many other choices... y'all need to figure it out. read more

The Larchmont Tailwaggers is my go-to pet store, but I usually get my dogs groomed at Moon Shine Grooming in East Hollywood. Unfortunately, everyone loves the one groomer there, and I found her booked out for weeks when my basset hounds were stinky and long-nailed, in need more immediate attention. The Hollywood Tailwashers had earlier availability than Larchmont, and I was able to get my boys in less than a week out. The drive there took maybe ten minutes, but it was enough time for Duke, my senile dog--who'd been offered lawn time before our departure--to shit in my trunk and somehow spread the feces all around. I was pretty horrified when I opened the trunk and decided to leave it open while I did a quick drop-off. Unfortunately, I didn't know that Tailwashers had a separate entrance from Tailwaggers, and had to get both dogs out of Tailwaggers and into Tailwashers, which I tried to do one at a time, as Duke kind of has to be carried. Frazzled, I left him on the floor in Tailwaggers while I ran Milo over, only to be told that I couldn't leave Milo while I went to get Duke. Did any of the several people working at Tailwashers offer to take Milo, who was leashed and ready to go, even after I told them I had a mostly immobile dog next door and an open trunk full of shit in the lot? They did not. They watched me wrangle Milo and leave to get Duke, who I hunched over and harness-walked from door to door. After that, at least, everyone was nice enough, and they gave me a poop bag to deal with the mess in my car (I am not the most organized person, and obviously plenty of this frustration was my own fault). I checked my dogs in and someone finally took them off my hands. I cleared a truly astonishing amount of poop from my trunk and left for a couple hours while the bassets got washed. I got a call when they were half an hour from being ready, then a text when I was good to pick them up. The boys were waiting for me, clean and looking spiffy, ready to be put back in my dubiously sanitary trunk. The grooming ran me a little over $100 a dog, including tip, a bit more than my usual groomer for less personal, friendly service. The dogs got what they needed, though, and I'd take them back if I had to. I'd just try Moon Shine and the Larchmont Tailwashers first. read more

Found our new go to grooming spot for my dog Benji and we're very happy about it. The staff here are incredibly friendly and clearly know what they're doing. They did an amazing job with his grooming and made the whole experience feel easy and stress free. Love that they have a small parking lot too, which makes the drop offs much easier. Owner Todd and the staff are all friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. You can tell they are animal lovers and enjoy their job. The place is clean and meticulously organized. Inside you'll find a wide selection of healthy pet food, accessories, and supplies for your pet. In addition to grooming services, self-wash stations are also available. Once a month they host an adoption event and invite a local rescue organization to participate. You'll find them in a secure area in the back with plenty of space where you can visit with the dogs that are available for adoption. I love that they also have a foundation (Tail Waggers Foundation) that provides funding to qualified non-profit animal rescues for life-saving treatment of sick & injured animals. Proceeds from ticket sales to their annual Waggy Awards benefit a local animal rescue. (Event date 9/4/25) This year's recipient is Pasadena Humane - an organization that is near & dear to my heart. She's a 60lb chowski with tons of hair and always barks when we leave her but they treat her sweet and she comes home smelling amazing!! I brought my small poodle mutt here for 4 years. We found a groomer we loved and rebooked with her every time. I give 3 stars because we had years of great experience, with one horrible experience. Over the last year or so, it went from him taking 1.5 hrs to be groomed, up to 3 hours, sometimes more. I moved further away 2 years ago, but kept coming here because we loved our groomer, so the inconsistent timing was challenging. Not to mention the last time we were there, the services were $50 more than the previous time?! The last time we were here, the groomer cut my dog's paw. It was an accident, and I don't blame her, as he squirmed and she trimmed at the same time. She was very kind and checked in on him the next day or so. I happened to have a vet visit already scheduled the next day, and it was much worse than we thought. The vet said I should've brought him in the same day because they would've sutured it. $300 and 2 weeks of a wrapped paw later, plus a 3rd week of no walks/keeping it dry, it finally healed. This is where my complaint/3 stars comes in. I got a text that our groomer left (the one we loved, but also the one that cut his paw), and asking if we wanted to book with someone else. I called at this point to ask what was going on, and tell them what happened to my dog last time. They were completely indifferent, did not offer to make it up to us, or anything. I'm sure there is some sort of waiver we signed, but I would've appreciated an apology, or further action or empathy from the staff. After 4 years of bringing my pup here, was very disappointed with how the staff handled this, and won't be bringing my pup back here. read more

They are so accommodating and I'm going to overlook the fact that someone gave me a guilt trip when I walked in the door picking my dog up 30 minutes past the time I said I was going to! But since sincerely, you don't do that to a customer but never mind! Bluebeary loves coming here! We were so happy that Tailwaggers & Tailwaggers opened up in Palm Springs. The store is clean, has great parking and they stock some fun and unique pet products. Management and employees are all very friendly and greet all pets ( & owners) enthusiastically. We had started noticing that our Covid rescue dog was starting to exhibit destructive separation anxiety. Our older dogs recently passed away, and we always felt bad leaving her in a crate when we left. We bought a doggie daycare package from Tailwaggers which we thought would be helpful. Our pup enjoys being around people and she enjoys the human and canine company. We recently got another rescue puppy. He absolutely loves going to doggie daycare and both of them get super excited when we drive into the parking lot. They know they are in for a day of fun!! After every visit, we get a puppy report card. We enjoy reading about their day of play and new "friends" made. There are also cameras that you can access from the app which gives you a live view of your pup's activities. We are so thankful for Tailwaggers and their employees!! read more

We've been taking our little guy here exclusively since he was a pup. He's just turning 1 so it's only been maybe a little over a handful of times. We'll be going elsewhere from now on. 1) First of all it seems like every time we try to book using the online portal, they call us to tell us no one's available at that time or even that day. So we always have to rebook when using the portal. If it doesn't work, DON'T USE IT! 2) The pricing seems to be inconsistent for no reason. There were multiple times we'd go in and the price was different. Usually higher. We'd have to "haggle" with them and then it'd be the same as last time. 3) Typically they'd do a fairly good job at following directions but 1/2 the time they wouldn't. We would be very detailed about what we wanted and then I'd have to "clean things up" on him when we'd get home. 4) This last time we went, just last week, we "tried" again to book on the online portal, thinking maybe they got their shit together. But nope. We get a message hours later telling us to call to book, that nothing was available the day we picked. So we made the appt with someone that seemed to have good reviews (I won't mention employee names). When I dropped him off, again I explained what we liked, picked a length. Told her we like his face to be open so we can see his eyes (he's a 11 month mini-poodle). We had been on vacation for 2 weeks and he was a little overdue. She said it'd be 2-3 hours. Take note, it's never been longer than 2 hours here. It's going on 3 hours and nothing yet. So I go in and I see him immediately up on the table getting worked on. Looks like they were still working on his body cut. His face was still the same as it was when I brought him in. At that point it was 3 hours. They told me he's almost done. I go get a coffee at the Oaks (shameless plug) and it's another 45 min and they send me a text. I go to get him and he's still being "finished up". So they start ringing me up and the gal brings him out to see if I'm liking the look, and his whole left side of his eye and face are longer than the other. I'm like WTF. All that time and you still can't get it right? So I told her what she was apparently blind to. She takes him back. They finish ringing me up and the price has gone up $15 more than last time. I ask why and first she says cuz their prices have gone up. They say that EVERY F'ING time we go in there, and I told her that. It gets old. Then she said it was because we usually get the deal of rebooking on site when he's done and we didn't last time. We didn't even know that was a thing. We always just booked again and thought that was the normal price. They didn't do a good job at communicating that. So instead of being a place with GREAT customer service and just giving us the same f'ing deal we've got the last 3-4 times, she says she can't do anything without the manager and of course they're not in. I mentioned that it took basically 4 hours to cut my dogs hair this time. Could you maybe give us the same price based on that failure? And the fact his face wasn't even done right? Nope. Nothing without the manager. So...I told her we'll be going elsewhere and leaving this review reflecting what happened and she didn't seem to care. In closing , this place USED to be good. I used to live right up the road from them for 13 years. I moved just last year when I got married and now we live elsewhere further away and we were making special trips there just out of loyalty. Not anymore. I had another dog years and years ago and took him there and NEVER had a problem with them. Same with a LOT of friends in the area. It was a better company. They seem snotty now and overpriced just because they're in the Hollywood Hills I guess. Who knows. I got news for ya. You're not a big deal. I've lived in way nicer areas with way nicer people and better prices. All in all, we won't be going back. And it doesn't sound like we're alone. A lot of reviews on here saying how snotty and rude the front desk peeps are and how they're overpriced. The stylists are always sweet though. More importantly they're just inconsistent and there are WAY better places in town. Also just a note that this review is ONLY for Washers. Not the retail store. They've never been anything but cool and nice. Not sure what it is about the other side but the owner needs to take note. Incidentally, I STILL had to clip some more hair on our pooches face because they still didn't do what we asked. Are they afraid of cutting the eyes? Professionals shouldn't be. It's not rocket science. I did it when I got home and it looked exactly like what we wanted. We just didn't want hair in front of his eyes. He likes to SEE! I didn't notice at the shop because they brought him out while I was in the middle of arguing with the front desk and didn't see that they still didn't do what we asked and I just walked out. Today was our 3rd times coming here for grooming and very happy! Brick & Mortar: Beautiful, clean, quaint and functional! I have a feeling that they thought about everything when they designed this place. From to "push" the door inward, so if there are dogs in the property they cannot just slipped out of the door, to the gate that separating the waiting room with the working area inside. We can see the self-wash area along with the crates where they keep the pets. I just love it. Parking: I've came here from early morning (8.30A) to afternoon (2P-ish). Always easy parking. They have several spots for drop off and pick up only. Definitely made it so much easier to get parking. Employees: ALL of them are SO nice! Very friendly and very personable. I love them ALL! Check out employees: I never gotten the names of those who dealt with me on the phone and the check in & out (cashier) area. But they ALL are super nice, understandable and really helpful! Thank you all. Groomer/Stylist: I've always worked with Bree and Krystyn (today for the first time). These 2 ladies are just so pleasant and very gentle in handling my Bella. And not only they're nice, but they also professionals! Just look at my Bella's picture and video of her lush hair by Bree. Request & Result: Today is a total different request to Krystyn; Bella just passed her bladder stone and in treatment for UTI. Her vet asked me to let go of her long hair on the bottom part of her body (chest + tummy). Hence, why I booked Krystyn for haircut + full bath, instead of just a normal full bath with Bree. Got there in the AM, Krystyn was out there with a smile and just had a great communication on what we need to do for Bella. Left Bella there and got the call about 1.5 hrs after, that Bella was ready to be picked up! When I saw Bella, it is exactly what we had talked about. Krystyn really on point on everything, including her paws!!! I am very happy, appreciative and thankful to this place. No matter who I was in contact with, ALL of them always delivered a consistent results on top of he amazing communication skills! After this 3rd visit, you have won your forever client! read more

Our dogs literally drag us into Tailwaggers a block away-- it is their absolute favorite place to be because they know when they walk in they'll see some new friends, get a treat, and have so many fun things to sniff. The staff is extremely knowledgable about dogs and their health, always have excellent product recommendations that actually address the dog's needs, and their prices are more than fair. It's a community staple that we love being nearby. The dogs are less enthusiastic about going into Tailwasher's but it's only because they know when they go it's time for a nail clipping which they've always hated. But the staff is always amazing at being as quick and painless as possible, and has even gotten our little chihuahua to stop screaming bloody murder when her paws are touched! It's clear the leadership is extremely invested in dogs and their owners, and hires people who feel the same. read more

I have had only great experiences here with the pet salon. First full grooming was with Ernie and second was with Nicole. I have a high anxiety senior dog who hates so many things (nail trims, his face being touched, brushing etc). Ernie and Nicole treated my special boy with so much sensitivity and care. They were also nice to me listening to my requests. My little boy was cut and groomed beautifully! All of the reception staff were also extremely polite and nice. Thank you for taking care of him. I absolutely love this place--both actually! The associates working at Tailwaggers are always very knowledgeable about dog health in my experience; every time I have come in looking for a product to help with a very specific issue my pup was having, they gave me a recommendation and explained to me why they recommend it in ways I could understand. They also ordered a probiotic I wanted that was out of stock and called me as soon as it came in, which was great customer service. Also, my dog just loves coming here! The vibe is friendly, cozy, and she knows there's going to be a treat for her too. Tailwashers does her nails, and I also commend the staff here for being great with nervous dogs. My girl is terrified of getting her nails trimmed and screams when anyone touches her paws--the staff here get her in and out with minimal screaming on her part, and I'm kind of convinced they're magicians for it. Tailwashers is a complete delirious place. Had been taking my dogs there for 2.5 years . After today that will never happen again. Absolutely sad and devastating experience. Dogs spent 8 hours in there and all what had been done is a complete shave. Groomers were given instructions but they were COMPLETELY IGNORED. Should I say that 2 of the pups who stayed longer were dehydrated because they're not giving them any water. Also extremely rude employee at the front desk. She's been working there for a while- always dismissive, rude, inattentive. It's not the first time they've messed up but before whatever issue we might have it would be resolved in an amicable way. There is no way I will recommend this place, I'll also make sure that this business will have less clients. read more
