I feel very comfortable going in here everytime, and Sarah has been great in helping me through the uncomfortable growing out process. The prices are also super reasonable! They always offer me a drink or a snack when I come in and the vibes are generally positive. Great spot! read more

Update: After I posted my review, the salon owners personally reached out to me and offered a free color consultation/correction. They got me in the very next day (a Saturday), and Ashley sat down with me and broke down my options in great detail, giving me all of the information I needed to make the best decision for my hair. Ashley was super knowledgeable, professional, and above all else patient -- especially considering how hesitant I was after my previous experience. She listened to all of my concerns about avoiding over processing and damaging my hair and keeping my ability to eventually return to my natural color open. Ashley worked with me for more than FOUR hours, carefully bleaching highlights into my hair to tone down the red. She took the dark unnatural red and turned it into a soft, natural red/brown. She also provided me with all of the products I would need to care for my processed hair to make it bounce back from all of the dyeing and bleaching. Although my hair understandably feels a little dry given all the processing in a short timeframe, it does seem that I avoided any major damage. Suffice to say, Ashley is a total miracle worker! She went above and beyond and my experience with her is deserving of 5 stars -- more than that even. I truly appreciate all of the efforts Tailored Salon took to address my concerns. They were consummate professionals and worked quickly to make sure I felt good about my hair. I would still urge some caution when working with the more inexperienced technicians -- just make sure you're asking questions and are confident that they can do the color you're looking for. Ultimately, mistakes happen. When they do, the best we can do is try to correct them. Tailored Salon did just that, and I am very grateful. Previous review: I want to make clear at the outset that the stylist was very sweet and apologetic and tried to rectify the problem. And I am grateful for that. However, I am still left with a hair color that is NOT at all what I asked for, with no solution in sight. I went into Tailored Salon yesterday for a cut and color. During the consultation, I asked to dye my virgin light brown hair a light auburn brown. I showed a reference picture of a light brown auburn color. I emphasized that I did NOT want to go red and said I wanted a brown with reddish undertones. I explained that my job requires that I keep my hair natural colors. As the stylist was painting on the color, it started to look very red, almost violet. Nevertheless, she told me not to worry because the end result is never as red or violet as it looks during the process. When she washed out my hair, I was shocked to see that it was bright red/orange -- far from the natural reddish-brown I had asked for. Not only that, but it was patchy. There were noticeable patches and streaks where you could see the brown peeking through the bright orangey-red, particularly right in the front right side of my hair, right by my face. My roots were even brighter orange than the rest of the hair. In all, my hair was at least three different colors. When I raised the fact that the orangey color was far from what we had discussed, the stylist went to consult with a different stylist. When she returned, she told me she could do a demi-color toner to try to tone down the orangey red. At this point, I had a lot of questions, including whether the toning process would damage my hair further, whether it would make it harder to correct the color later on, whether my hair would fade back to orange. She was not able to answer my questions, so I asked if it would be possible to speak to the stylist she had consulted. The other stylist gave me a bit more information and assured me that it would not cause any additional damage to do a semi-permanent brown toner over the red as a temporary fix. So I agreed to do it. Although the brown semi-permanent dye did tone down the bright orange a bit -- at least enough so I could go back to work -- my hair is still far from the color I asked for. It is unmistakably red, significantly darker than I wanted, and in no way, shape, or form a natural shade. Not only that, but I was told the semi-permanent brown toner would wash out in a few weeks (likely faster given the frequency with which I wash my hair), which will leave me fading back to the bright orange base I am now left with. My hair was healthy, shiny, and long when I entered Tailored Salon yesterday. Now, I'm left with the decision of having to keep a bright, unnatural color, that is a problem for work, or damage my previously healthy hair by trying to strip out the color I didn't ask for. I know it seems silly to feel this way about hair, and I do feel silly for feeling this way about hair, but I am sad and disappointed. I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the stylist was nice and maintained her professionalism. But the salon should have more supervision for newer stylists. read more

Just got back from having my hair done and I LOVE it! Stylist took time to really understand what I wanted and offered helpful feedback and questions based on my bone structure! She really understood the assignment and my daughter and I left with exactly what we wanted! To top it off they did a "gloss" to give my daughter fake highlights and avoid damage. My daughter was thrilled! I love the products my stylist recommended for my very fine hair and she showed me how to style it at home! read more

Came here this 1.5 years ago. The team was super helpful and informative. They were very friendly! I had the owner cut my hair, and she was super nice. I asked for a Lob style hair cut but got more of an old lady bob (there were several layers in the back). She then styled it after--which looked nice, but the next time I washed my hair and actually saw what it looked like I was extremely disappointed. Both sides were super uneven and choppy. I looked like I took a pair of fiskars scissors and just chopped my pony tail off. Yah, man, you can say it looks sad. I don't disagree. Good thing my hair has finally grown out. read more

Definitely impressed with Tailored Salon! Going for a blowout today was my first big adventure in an indoor space. I've barely even gone in the grocery store to buy groceries and everything else I need is ordered online. I was feeling a bit anxious about going to a salon but felt a bit more at ease reading their precautions. Everyone is required to wear a mask (masks are provided if you don't have one), no waiting in the salon, call to be let in, hand sanitizer for going in and out, and no additional people with you - just bring yourself. I was happy to be screened with questions asking if I had any COVID symptoms, contact with anyone who test positive for COVID and any recent travel. Dividers (assuming plexiglass) gang between work stations, shampoo bowl and chair were cleaned immediately after my hair washing. I felt they did a great job ensuring not only their customers but also their staff are kept safe. As far as my actual service goes, Hannah was great. She explained everything she was doing and the products she was using on my hair. This may sound silly but she did an amazing job combing my hair and working through any tangles without pulling on my hair. My hair smells, feels, and looks wonderful! I've been a client of Sara at Tailored Salon for two years. This morning, I received a reminder text from the salon that I had an appointment scheduled at 9:00 the following day. I was given the option to call or text to confirm or to call the salon to cancel and avoid being charged. The first break I had from work, approximately 1 hour and 22 minutes after receiving Tailored's 9:00 am text. I called to cancel and reschedule the appointment for a later time. I was informed that I would be charged for the service because I didn't call by 9:00, the very same time they sent the text informing me I could call to cancel and avoid being charged. I cannot believe a salon would treat a repeat customer in this way, and I am sorry that Sara has lost a customer, and I have lost a hairdresser I enjoyed working with and who knew my hair. I will be disputing the $200 charge as fraud with my bank, since I have the text message from Tailored to prove they lied and misled me into thinking I could change the appointment, when in reality I could not. read more

I just left Tailored after initially not being satisfied with my haircut. I normally wouldn't have said anything but I really wasn't liking it and figured there might be an easy solution. When my stylist learned I wasn't satisfied, she pulled in her boss, Ashley, to talk through options with me. By the end of our 'consult' I was sold on cutting my hair short to smooth things out. From there, Ashley re-rinsed my hair and gave me a fresh cut, which required the team staying after closing hours. They were extremely gracious and seemed truly invested in me leaving satisfied. I honestly am not even convinced I love myself with short hair yet as it'll take time to get used to, but regardless, my review is for 5 stars for absolutely above and beyobd customer service! read more

Tailored salon preaches about taking care of people and inclusivity. I know this not to be true. As a former client I know of multiple incidents of double standards based on your sexual orientation. They say they are LGBTQ+ friendly, although personally in my 2 years as a client there, I can say 1 owner and the current office manager are not LGBTQ+ supportive. They like to talk the talk but fall short with the walk the walk. Very disappointing. Great location and loving, welcoming staff!! Appointment process simple and parking hasn't been a issue. The team takes the time to listen and personalize your cut that work for you. Loved the hand massage that comes with hair washing. My only disappointment and reason that i may not "stick" to this location is cost. Cuts and color pricey which always frustrates me especially when if find someone i love and trust. Cut, Color and then tip adds up and when you have to come every 6-8 weeks gets costly. First trip to Milwaukee, my new business territory. I have to give a shoutout to the ladies at Tailored for treating this New Yorker to a wonderful experience and treatment all around. From the warm, friendly greetings to the neighborhood tips, the staff here goes above and beyond on customer service. I only had a short time, but they were able to get me in for a cut and brow wax with Renee. The cut started with a luxurious scalp and neck massage and included a deep condition with hot towels while she was waxing my brows--blissfully relaxing! Renee was pleasant and extremely professional, she gave me a thorough consultation. All in all, very happy with the cut, service, knowledge and professionalism of this salon. I was also happy to hear that they had just visited NYC for continuing education to learn two new cuts--always a good sign when salons invest in their people and stay fresh with new trends and techniques.
