Been here a couple time now, always felt the drink is a bit lack luster but the Ramen is really good. Think I've been getting the wrong thing. I was looking for something different for lunch and paused by Taichi to read the menu. Almost immediately I was taken by the sushi burrito, so I went inside for more information. The young lady behind the counter was super helpful. She showed me the "make your own sushi burrito" order sheet and gave me suggestions from best sellers. I filled out the sheet, unsure of my choices. A lot of times where I have to pick all my options, I either go too far or combine flavors that do not go together. I was hopeful for my burrito tho. I paid and was given a number, my food was ready shortly thereafter. I took it back to work for consumption. Overall, I felt the options I chose worked together really well! I had a number of dipping sauces but preferred the soy sauce/wasabi combo most. The burrito is more of a taco as the sides of the seaweed wrap don't touch - and that's important to note. Eating this "burrito" is really messy. Overall, interesting concept. A little too pricy though where all I'm getting is a burrito, no sides, no drinks, so unlikely I return. read more

Came in because I was in the area and craving boba. This spot is neat because it was a boba, poke bowl and ramen spot. It was empty when I came in, I was surprised it wasn't busier. I ordered the Thai tea boba and was glad I could satisfy my craving, but just a tad disappointed with the drink. The boba quality was good though! Cooked perfectly and the proportion to the drink was perfect. I was disappointed that I was not able to adjust the sugar level (I usually get 50 or 70% sugar) so the drink was too sweet for my liking. In addition, I don't think there was enough milk in my drink because even after mixing it, it was still a darker color and I would've preferred a slightly more milkier taste. The tea was very strong but the entire beverage was really sweet so it was off. I would come back to try the food options and maybe give the boba a second try after I allow the ice to melt to dilute the sweetness a bit. read more

Sykesville location!! Amazing food. Vegetarian options galore. Chicken teriyaki rice bowl with veggies was phenomenal. Tonkatsu ramen just as tasty as Japan. I was pleasantly surprised. Oof. We went to this location to have lunch with friends. We had high expectations, the Bel Air location had never let us down. There were advertisements for drinks that were not available posted on the wall. I ordered a Thai Tea and a Dalgona Coffee. They didn't have the Dalgona and substituted a coffee milk tea. It was all right but I felt rushed to change the order when presented with the information that there was no Dalgona coffee. Two of us got ramen and two of us got sushi rice bowls. There was hardly a bed of rice for the toppings to sit on. I ordered double salmon and was charged for double meat but they only put one scoop. I get severe social anxiety so I didn't bring anything up. It tasted great it just wasn't the proportions or service I'm used to. The store itself was clean and well decorated. The bathrooms were very clean which knowing it's near a mall can be hit or miss with cleanliness. Wasn't terrible but I don't know if I want to go to this location again. read more

We loved our ramen! 1 star off because there were no donuts, our table wasn't clean (we moved twice), and screens were not working. The person at the register was not smiling or sweet. She seemed young and tired. Other than that the pork belly tonkstu ramen was good. I also wish I knew there were extra toppings. Taichi offers poke bowls, ramen, bubble tea and mochi donuts on the weekends (we didn't know :( ) Bubble tea: Milk teas are used with lactose free milk but over all, the teas were a little to milky tasting and not quite sweet enough for my preference. It could have been that I didn't quite mix it throughly enough though. Poke bowls: We built our own bowls and they have a lot of options to choose from! Portion sizes were good. Had a great experience today (10/28/2024). Went in for lunch and got two custom poke bowls, spicy miso ramen, lemon tea, brown sugar milk tea and strawberry milk tea. Everything tasted fresh and was great proportions. I do wish the ramen had a little bit more ramen noodles--especially for the price--but it's not a deal breaker. I've had each of these food items at other establishments before, to compare them to, and I'd say this location's food was one of my favs (taste wise). The atmosphere was relaxing. There were plenty of seats to choose from. No obnoxious crowd of people or loudness. The music was subtle and enjoyable. As for the staff, the cashier was friendly and attentive to my specific requests. They didn't take too long to prepare my meal. I waited about 10 minutes, I believe. Let me preface this review by saying I am a bubble tea SNOB When Taichi first opened I was super excited to have one in the Columbia area aside from the locations near the mall. The interior is decorated very nicely, and every time I've been it's always kept nice and clean. It was also nice to see that they had food options aside from their boba, but I was mainly there for their drinks. I did try their food and found it to be decent, although a bit on the expensive side. The boba, however, was a standout feature. I appreciated the variety of flavors and options, especially the availability of milk alternatives, which can be rare to find. The boba had a nice consistency, but I do prefer a stronger sugary syrup flavor to enhance the taste. Overall, a decent place to get your boba fix. Would give it a 3.5/5 if I could! read more

I ordered the smoothie on a hot 90 plus degree day. I liked that I could combine two of my favorite flavors: lychee and passionfruit. I added even more fruitiness with strawberry jelly. Some of the best tasting bubble tea you'll ever have. My wife and I love bubble tea and Columbia and Ellicott City have dozens to choose from. When we recently went to Taichi Bubble Tea on a whim, I had no idea of the quality of bubble tea. Taichi's bubble teas and other drinks are concentrated with flavor. Nothing felt watered down or compensated with added sugar, and instead, gave you supreme taste in every sip. My wife ordered a standard milk tea. It was rich and creamy, and rather than the milk or sugar, it was the tea that was the star of the show. I had a milk coffee, and whatever brand of coffee they use to make it is of top quality. I had it with my lunch and I still felt the surge of caffeine over 5 hours later. If I had to give any criticism to Taichi, and this is a minor one, is that they don't put a lot of fillings with their drinks. My wife had very little boba in her milk tea, and I had very little coffee jelly in mind. Buuuut, if you prefer your drink over your fillings, this might be a huge plus for you. Taichi also serves food, and I'd like to give some of their dishes a go next time I'm in the area during lunch time. The decor in the restaurant is adorable and is kept pretty clean. They also have a little shelf with some games (my husband and I played the sriracha game while we waited). The people at the cashier were very friendly and approachable. We both got the build-your-own poke bowls which was good and filling. I liked that they allow you to pick as little or as much as you want in your bowl. The only downside in my opinion, was how small the salmon pieces were cut. They offer these poke bowls in burrito form as well, which I'll have to come back to try. Overall, the price was reasonable and enjoyed our meal. One of the workers here, Rianna, has been very rude the past couple of times I came. I brushed it off, thinking maybe she's having a bad day. Everything I've had is good here. Consistently good. The ramen is well seasoned and the boba is great.

Food tastes great and the ambiance is even better. Very chill and never too busy, and the staff it's pretty quick with the turn around time. It's nice to meet up with people here without having to get a table and waiting for one to be free like at Akira ramen. Their boba is pretty good too, I love doing the mix of two flavors for their slushes, but the strawberry boba was good too! I've been wanting to try this place since I heard it was opening up, and my husband decided to treat me with some yummy food for me! He went over ingredient information with them since I have allergies and got me the shrimp sushi burrito with white rice, avocado, wasabi mayo, and red cabbage. He also chose the mango milk crush made with oat milk for me. It's not my normal boba order, but it was so good! It tasted like a mango milkshake with boba pearls!! Everything was so good that I asked him to get me more the next day! This time I got the ocean roll sushi burrito. Most things in it were safe to me. I was able to get the ocean roll with White rice, shrimp, regular tuna instead of spicy tuna, salmon, cucumber, avocado, Masago, wasabi mayo, scallions, and sesame seeds. The only thing I couldn't get was the eel sauce, spicy mayo, and spicy tuna. I can't wait to try the spicy tonkatsu ramen next or the zang zang special boba next. Everything was so fresh, and the ingredients definitely were quality and very flavorful. The only thing I will say is that the food portions are quite tiny for the price. If they could either lower their prices to reflect the smaller portions or increase the amount of food, that would earn the extra star. read more

Short story shorter, they seem to have an ok selection with their own variations of some things. I had the Mango milk crush which was decent. I see some folks have photographed it below (yellow with tapioca). To me personally, I didn't see much difference between it and a mango smoothie with boba. The place was clean, little on the slower side service wise, no reason for me to put too much a review in for a quick bubble tea stop. It's worth a try. I do have co workers that were less than impressed with their traditional bubble teas but I did not have that nor did I factor it into my own review. Came in and tried their poke bowl and a mango green tea. I was honestly underwhelmed with both. I got salmon and spicy salmon for $14 but the pieces were so tiny and I barely saw any in my bowl. The tea did not taste fresh and had a nasty stinky taste to it. Overall everything feels overpriced here. I most likely won't be back having heard how bad their ramen is. Such a cute spot!! We stopped by this location when my friend and I were on our way to a house warming party nearby. I've tried other Taichi's in Maryland before but they were really disappointing. I decided to give this location a try given it's proximity, and they did not disappoint!! Got a passion fruit green tea with mango and lychee jelly. This was so good, especially with the summer weather! It was super refreshing and wasn't overly sweet like at the other location I ordered from. My friend and I got two ramens, and given my complicated order they followed the request to the point. I ordered the shoyu ramen (my go to ramen order) with corn, extra egg and beef. No bean sprouts and seaweed. The broth was savory, but light. The egg was PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked. Peep that soft boil egg. The beef was also perfectly cooked, and tasted delicious. The noodles were "bouncy", just the way i like it. I'm very specific with the ramen, where every component needs to be perfect and compliments each other, and this shoyu ramen definitely did! My friend ordered the tonkatsu, and I have to say, after trying my friend's, I'll be coming back to get my own bowl of this one. The broth was creamy but not too heavy, which was perfect, and the pork was delicious. I would've finished her bowl too if she didn't take it away. 5/5, i would definitely come back! The restaurant had potential. It opened less than 60 days ago so I'm sure service will improve. They are friendly, just slow or should I say apprehensive. Before you get in line, peruse the menu & make your selection on the form. The serving size of the protein is about 1/4 or 1/8 cup per order. It's not a lot. Everything is drag with the exception of the corn, it's canned. The sauce containers are only 1/2 filled when asked for it on the side. The size of the teas are perfection. They don't load up the cup with all ice like other places so you get to enjoy enough beverage with a decent amount of ice simultaneously. I ordered the tarp milk tea & the mango milk tea... no boba. I love that when I'm craving bubble tea (which... let's face it... it happens at least once a week), I can go here :) They also have a great selection of poke bowls, sushi burritos, and ramen. I love that I can come to one location to get food and a drink! You can build your own meal or choose from their signature dishes. I got the poke amazing bowl that comes with salmon and spicy tuna. The tuna was definitely spicy for me, so I'm glad the bowl came with rice to balance out the spiciness. The fish and veggies were very fresh-- I love how crispy and green the lettuce was (yay for not being wilted!). I've also had their miso ramen with tofu which is really good, and I love that it comes with a soft soy egg with a perfect runny yolk. For drinks I've tried their Taichi original milk tea, mango tea, and their InfruiTea. I'd say I love their InfriuTea because it comes with actual fruit chunks! My partner and I haven't been able to find a place that puts fresh fruits in teas except in Canada, so this was a nice surprise to see :) The price of a meal + drink can add up to be $20+ which might be a lot for some people.
