So the unagi over rice was super amazing! It had the miso flavor... tasted similar to black cod. Only thing was, it felt like there might have been some bones. if you're picky, you might not have too fun of a time ignoring the tiny once and chewing through it. It was totally worth it for me though. The gohan was so flavorful and it truly tasted like they just made it 20 minutes before. I ordered miso ramen as well with tofu for the meat. Not a huge fan of the tofu, cause they just use the miso soup tofu. I'd suggest getting a different type of meat. The broth was great. The windows allow lots of natural light to come in which can be a great change of environment if you're looking for somewhere to study besides your own dark and dingy desk setup. My girlfriends and I stopped by for a quick drink at Taichi. We were drawn to Taichi based on its attractive storefront located in the busy shopping center off of Briarcliff and North Druid Hills. Upon entering, you'll notice the space is large, modern, clean and fresh. This Taichi location opened during the Pandemic, so there's plenty of appropriate distancing and safety measures to make the customer feel comfortable. There are menus available at a counter as you walk in and also a large menu on display at the far left side of the restaurant for you to view contact-free. For a place offering drinks, sushi, and ramen, their menu somehow fits on a wall - I think they have a few focus areas and know how to do them efficiently. For this evening, my focus was on drinks! Drinks are by far the largest part of their menu. They offer six groups of drinks to satisfy your craving: milk tea, fruit tea, smoothies, Taichi InfruiTea, Zang Zang milk, and Milk Crush. The milk tea and fruit teas are available hot or cold, but be prepared to pay $.50 extra for the hot option. Additionally, you may choose toppings, sugar and ice level. I normally order a plain Jane milk tea but the sound of the Zang Zang Brown Sugar Milk (an obvious copy cat of the famous Tiger Sugar), brought me back to memories of waiting in line on a busy Flushing street to get my hands on this delicious concoction. When it was my turn to order, I asked the counter guy if the Zang Zang Brown Sugar Milk is "good", and he assured me it's good and one of their best selling drinks. I had to get one! Having had the original Tiger Sugar, I'll say the Zang Zang Brown Sugar Milk is close but no cigar. The drink is almost as aesthetically beautiful as the Tiger Sugar drink, but it was waaaayyy too sweet for my taste. The brown sugar/milk ratio can definitely be improved on this one. My girlfriends tried the taro milk tea (hot and cold) and they both enjoyed their drinks. Looking forward to coming back and checking out more goodies on the menu! read more

I've been meaning to try Taichi forever now since I found out it opened a couple of months ago as I kept seeing their ads on Instagram and FB, but I rarely drive towards that area due to the terrible traffic. Luckily, I was in the area the other day so I finally got to try it (traffic is still terrible but I'll gladly brave it again to come back here). The store is very spacious - more spacious that I thought! It's very clean inside - they reserved every other table for COVID precautions if you decide to dine in. Ordering is easy - there's some paper menus at the front when you walk in through the doors where you just mark what you want and bring it to the register. You can either do a burrito, rice bowl, or a salad (I got the rice bowl). The prices vary on how many proteins you decide to get, but you can add as much toppings as you want. Portions are hugeee here - I only got two proteins (spicy tuna and crab) but I got full so I had to take some home as leftovers. All of the ingredients tasted very fresh - I like the variety of toppings they have here as well! They have a lot more toppings than other poke places which is nice and they offer a lot of sauce options too (you can choose up to 3 sauces, but I don't like mixing my sauces so I just got spicy mayo). I also ordered the Lychee Black Tea and it was good too - it is a little more expensive compared to places on Buford Highway, but if you are looking for a closer boba place, its worth checking Taichi out. They also serve ramen here too - I didn't see anyone ordering it when I was there, but I think next time I'm here, I'll give it a shot. read more

I couldn't help but try this place after looking through the pictures! I normally don't like milk teas because I find them really heavy compared to clear teas, but I decided to be more open this time around. The first time I came here I tried the Brown Sugar Zangzang and it was really good. The barista suggested almond milk as my base and I think that was perfect! The drink was delicious and not overly sweet. I think it was around $6 , so around the typical price of bubble tea. The second time I came here I tried the Zangzang special Taro Milk Tea. Now this tea looks very beautiful, a cool purple blend. I used almond milk as the base for this tea as well. The consistency was really thick to me even when I tried to swirl and mix the drink as best as I could. I've only had Taro tea one other time at different restaurant and I remembered it being a grainy kind of texture too so I think this may be how Taro teas normally taste (especially if it's fresh and not a powder mix). Either way, I'm glad I decided to be adventurous and try something new, but Taro teas just might not be for me. They have a lot of options for food, milk and clear teas. And the restaurant is very clean and decorated very nicely (they had a cool Halloween display when I went). I've only tried milk teas here, so I'll be back to try some clear ones. read more

I ordered a small tai chi original milk tea with boba and cheesy foam and my friend ordered the taro milk tea with boba. The flavor of the milk tea was very good! Not too strong for those who don't like their tea super strong. It was also quite sweet even though I prefer semi sweet. The boba was perfect! No complaints there. The cheesy foam was thick and extremely rich. I'd say that was my favorite part! They also give you a generous amount of foam. The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars is because of how expensive it was for bubble tea compared to the amount they give you. This was truly a small cup and they will charge you .75 if you ask for no ice. For me and my friend, it was roughly $13 total when I've had cheaper boba for the same quality and more quantity. It's better than the Taichi Milk Tea I previously ordered, but still not great. * Zang Zang Taro (Purple Potato) with Whole Milk: Taro had some super sweet paste coated inside the cup. Large Zang Zang is $5.50. Boba (or other toppings) is an additional $0.50. For two drinks it's $12+. Now, if these drinks were tasty, I would not mind. However, these were not special. Bobas are bland and not the brown sugar or caramel bobas. Overall, I would not recommend the drinks here. It's pricy and not worth it. The food though is A-OK. read more

As old as I am and as much Asian food I've had and cook I've never heard of pork oil. Taichi Bubble Tea have the cutest decor that I have seen in a boba shop in a while. The green chairs with bamboo tables are so cute. Also, there were pandas everywhere!! Lol I stopped by for a drink, but Taichi also offered poke bowl and ramen. I'll try that some other day. Since it was my first time, I asked the cashier what would she recommend, since she seems new (she was being trained by a different worker), she couldn't really recommend a good drink. The one that was trained her recommended the taichi tea but since I didn't really understand her explanation, I stick with my usual, jasmine green milk tea with boba. The jasmine green milk tea on the board shows a light green color, which is normal in most bubble tea shops I have tried. When they called the drink, What I got instead was a bright green jasmine green tea drink that kinda made me do a double take. Lol The drink itself is kind of water down. The only saving grace is their boba. The boba was perfectly chewy and very addicting. I can say taichi boba is top 2 of the best boba in Georgia and I have tried almost all of the bubble tea shop in ITP and OTP. I would definitely come back just for the boba.
