My My My! What fun What fun What fun Lots of trails! Jeepers jeepers!! Bumps on the road cause you to be happy that you have a seat belt because bumps are to your left and to your right and ahead of you and behind you. How's that for taking up space on a review so that it's more than a top eh?!!?

Awesome off roading with family and friends. First timer for all of us. The weather cooperated also. Over all it was really a great day.

http://4x4trailhunters.com/trail.php?id=31 Oh my GAWD, we are *NOT* going up that, right? Oh really? Nick, I love your '89 'Yota Landcruiser, but how are the seatbelts? Secure? Okay. Um, lemme have another sip of my Tilt first, just in case it spills. HOLY SH*T....Are we seriously going down that??? Oh, okay, that's a YESSSSSS....Wow, that was fun! Ohhh, big puddles! Wheeeeeeee! Damn, lookit THAT 4 wheel machine. Oh, look...A nice gentlemen in a Nissan (?) wants to chat with us since he and his son saw us eating breakfast in Gorst...Oh hi! Wow, you've been coming out on these trails for 20 years with your son? Cool. Wow, you helped chase down a murderer when the cops couldn't hit the trails to follow him? Neat. Well, nice chatting with you! *whisper* Um, Nick? Where are all these people's teeth???? USEFUL INFO: Just a 20 minute ride on the West Seattle Ferry to Southworth and then a quick jaunt over to the Tahuya State Forest in Belfair, unpaid volunteers have spent years creating and maintaining ORV/motorcycle trails for 4x4 enthusiasts to enjoy. It may be out in the middle of nowhere, but DAMN it sure is fun to bounce up hills and down hills and over rocks around trees and through lakes of mud for hours on end...I didn't even get dirty! P.S. Ow, my back.

Great place for both beginners and seasoned pro bros! You can make your trip to Tahuya as easy as you want or as difficult as you'd like. Here you will find dirt, roots/stumps, mud, puddles, and boulders to play on. Either you're in a stock RAV4 or a modded out JK with 37's you can find something to do here! ATV's and dirt bikes all play here! All good clean fun. If you want body damage, that can be arranged, if not, just pick your routes carefully. One thing for sure is that you CANNOT leave this place without bringing back those nice PNW trail pinstripes. It's badge of honor whether you're in a '85 Yota pick up or a 2016 $86k Landcruiser. Tahuya has a big staging area where you can prep up and air down. The trail system is a little confusing for 1st timers. We stumpled upon a lost JK owner during the evening and he had to follow our group out. If you're a newbie I'd recommended hitting the trails earlier in the morning so you can space out enough time to make it out before dark. If not, you're SOL and prepare to spend the night in the middle of the park or bash and ram into everything trail while you're in panic mode to get out. Best you go with another vehicle so you can have a spotter for those undercarriage crunching moments.

I drive to this lil park and collect huge oyster shells to paint or display. The park is monitored, well kept and clean.

A few minutes drive off of 101 in Brinnon, WA you'll find Rocky Brook Falls. Across the street are a few parking spots, but beware that side is private property and there are a bunch of no trespassing signs. The entrance to the trail was not obvious to me. So I took some photos showing the path. But it's a short walk to the falls, which by the way, was a lot larger than I thought it would be! You will have to climb over some boulders to access the pool at the base of the falls, so just be aware of that. I came on a summer weekday, so there was only another couple with their dog there. You practically had the place to yourself! It has been one of the dryer summers, so I imagine after a good rainfall, the falls would be roaring and serene. Also note, there are no bathroom facilities and no cell service in the immediate area.

Bring some Keens or other water shoes as you have to scrabble over some larger boulders at the edge of the pool - but to keep it real, I wore flip flops. There is a dirt parking lot on left side . Cross over the road and hike the trail on the right side.

Anywho, eventually, we found this spot, and it was exactly how my aunt and uncle described it. Lots of nature and walking paths, and gorgeous views of the water. The campgrounds are also sizeable, and there were plenty of campers and families hanging out and enjoying the sunshine. There's also a little amphitheater area made of tree stumps and wooden benches with a wooden stage. I think you have a reserve that area if you wanna use it, though. This place is chill and great for passing the time (maybe like 2 hours or so if you meander through all of the walking trails). Also, it's pet-friendly.

It rained the whole weekend we were here but the host was pleasant and friendly, the people there definitely maintain the park beautifully, and the ranger came by several times which made us feel remotely safe. Plenty of fun in the area for boating and swimming, two spots for RV/Travel Trailer camping. It's a serene and beautiful site that was more than adequate for a weekend away. If you're looking for just a night or several weeks, this campground is well maintained with beautiful views, and friendly and hardworking staff members. Truly a gem.

Swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing is all allowed at this large lake. And this county park is also dog friendly. My husband, our little girl dog and I stopped by this park on a Thursday afternoon, a little before 1 pm. The reason why we came here was because we were looking for a park with barbecue grills because we had just purchased some raw, fresh oysters and clams from Minterbrook Oyster Farm and wanted to cook some up for lunch. A local at a nearby convenience store suggested this park and so we headed on our way (be sure to purchase charcoal if you want to use the park grills). Parking is plentiful, plenty of parks to provide shade and lots of grass available for our little girl to mark her territory. With a handful of barbecue grills, we decided to pick one by the volleyball court. My husband set up the grill and did the cooking (that is what husbands are for) and my little girl and I explored this large park in the meantime. There are restrooms by the playground, but I did not use it. Also during our visit, a park employee told us that he had to close the restrooms (due to some kind of plumbing problem) and that porta-potties will be delivered later today. This is a great park to have a family get together, picnic, friend gathering (play volleyball or bring your kayaks and launch off of here), fly your drone here or toy planes and play with your dog(s) here. If I lived closer, I would be out here on a regular basis.

The park also has solid amenities like tennis courts, a volleyball area, and a basketball court for older kids and adults. I especially enjoyed the shaded walking paths, which offered a nice break from the sun. The one downside was the bathroom. It was in poor condition and definitely could use some upkeep. Parking was available but packed due to the nice weather, so we had to park a short walk away. JY review.
