It may not be the fanciest spot I've ever seen, but it's truly operated with love and I felt welcome and at home. The beds were amazing! One thing I'll recommend, which wasn't even an issue with me since I started doing this long ago.. if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. You can faintly hear noise outside or in adjoining rooms, so if you're a super light sleeper like me, you'll appreciate having them. It wasn't loud or rowdy, I'm just awakened by a change in temperature.

Whether you're here to hike, ski, go to the casino, or something else, Veda Inn is a much better option than any of the chain hotels. During our trip to Asheville we wanted to experience the city but also have cabin time. Wildberry lodge provided us with the most relaxing and comfortable experience we could ever ask for. Wild berry is definitely a way to get out of the city and just enjoy the quietness of nature (without going too far of course!) The drive itself is around 25-30 mins from downtown Asheville - there are several ways to get here but the new foundland road was probably the best route. It's easy to stay in the cabin and go enjoy yourself in the city during the day or evening. Ken and Glenda were very hands off and so friendly - if you have questions on where to go or what to do they can accommodate everything! The main cabin has multiple rooms - gooseberry and some other room options. This is where you check in, get breakfast, game room, sit on the deck, coffee/cider bar and chit chat with other guests if your heart desires. The best part of our stay was Glenda's breakfasts! Her recipes were featured in an Asheville bed and breakfast recipe book! We signed up for a bfast time the day prior (anywhere from 8am-930am) and she is usually ready whenever we get there! Our first breakfast included - garden frittata, bacon, homemade English muffin, rosemary roasted potatoes and to finish it off - poached pear. Our second breakfast included pumpkin pecan pancakes, cranberry/apple chutney and sausages and ended it with a mixed berry cobbler. Everything was superb and very filling! We stayed in the honey moon suite to get the full cabin - on our own - experience and it was gorgeous! The bed is super comfy, everything was clean and up to date. It was almost like glamping! Only downside to our visit was the drive at night can be a bit scary if you are not use to driving on mountains. One of the first nights it was raining so it was slightly difficult coming back to the cabin from downtown Asheville. Just make sure you have a car and drive safely! You can tell the owners make an extra effort to show they care about their customers, as when we got to the cabin we had a few cup cakes waiting for us as a welcome gift. At their office they have plenty of DVDs and board games you can borrow, as well as free coffee and cider to take to the cabin. They also have additional snacks and sodas at a super cheap price. And of course wood for the fire place. Overall it's a nice place to go and enjoy some relaxing time.

This was EXACTLY what we were looking for! We rented cabin 5 which is a one bedroom and it ended up being $200 for two nights for both of us. Really affordable compared to some of the other cabin options we looked at and not much more expensive than the cheap hotels. The cabin was warm and smelled nice and cabin-y when we got there. The living room had a recliner couch, table for two and a fireplace. There was a full kitchen with stove/oven/microwave/fridge (no disposal in sink or dishwasher but that was fine.) It was stocked with pots/glasses/plates/etc. (but no wine corkscrew so we had to get creative...) The bedroom had a king bed and a jacuzzi tub which was so awesome to sit in after a day of skiing. There was also a little porch with rocking chairs in the back that looked at a creek. It was a little chilly for porch sitting though. Everyone we talked to in the office was super nice and helpful and they all seemed to know who we were when we came in. They gave us a really thorough welcome packet with info on everything from restaurants to walmart and they also have a bunch of brochures on activities in the area. You can buy firewood with a starter stick for $5 and borrow from a large selection of DVD's. I was concerned when we first looked at the website because it didn't indicate that our cabin had internet, but I was happily surprised to find we did have it. I didn't NEED it, it's just nice to be able to access Google Maps and my fantasy football team roster :) They got a good amount of channels on the TV as well including ESPN! We skied at the Cataloochee Ski Area which was maybe 10 minutes away and easy to get to in December because there wasn't any snow/ice on the roads. You can get discounted ski packages through Twinbrook but unfortunately we didn't tell them in time! You have to let them know in advance so they can get the passes. The rest of the time we stayed in the cabin, watched movies, played games, ate cheese and drank wine. It was a perfect trip and Twinbrook was a perfect lodging choice for us! Would definitely recommend coming here. It's great to have the privacy of your own cabin and the people that work here are great!
