This suite had 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom with a king bed and sitting room, another bedroom with 2 twin beds. My mom and I slept on the king bed. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable but I did sleep good! This suite has lots of stairs to get to it so that was a challenge with luggage but we made it. The furnishings are old, in style with the house, but comfortable. There were fans in the rooms which was nice. We arrived late at night and got the last private parking spot, which is also a walk to the house but doable. Breakfast is served 8:30a-9:30s and we went down about 9a. There were no seats available, the hostess came and apologized and told us the breakfast menu for the day. Bacon was on it and I LOVE some bacon. Finally got seated, breakfast arrived, no bacon, they were out of bacon! Dissatisfaction! After breakfast talked with inn hostess and told her we didn't need our room cleaned but could use some clean towels and trash taken out. She said ok, she would do it and then hang a rope across the steps to let the housekeeper know we didn't need service. Then we left for the day. Got back late, clean towels, trash not emptied. Next day, left the rope down, left for the day, got back late, no clean towels, trash still not emptied. Oh, and we went down to breakfast by 8:30 to make sure we got seats and food! I'm There is a small fridge in the dining area with ice in baggies and you can store something small but that's it. They do have coffee/tea and small snacks t/o the day and night. This place is clean but not exceptionally clean, the outside grounds were nice but not exceptionally nice. Which I feel is the theme for this place, everything is nice and comfortable but not exceptional. Back to the breakfast, they make your breakfast and serve you, there are no options, you get what they are serving. The food was good. Would I stay here again? Not sure but glad I did stay here at least once.,

The bathroom did leave some things to be desired. There was not a good place to put your toiletries. We also had to climb into a very deep bathtub to get to the shower... If you are clumsy, like me, you may walk away with a couple of bruises. The house itself was very pretty, and was decorated in a manner appropriate for the property. I would've liked to seen some warm blanket to sit out on the patio with, board games, or puzzles to pass the time. There was only one sofa, and it was not in a cozy little nook where you would want to hang out. The food was fine. The menu is heavy on carbs and sweet breakfast treats. They were executed well enough. But there was not any particular breakfast that knocked my socks off. Again it was fine. The location was very convenient to downtown Asheville. It would be a two minute drive or a 10 minute walk to downtown Asheville. This bed-and-breakfast did not appear to be owned and operated by the hosts, rather an absentee corporation or business. I think that made the difference. Everything was fine, but it didn't have that touch of home that you expect when you stay at a bed and breakfast. For example, when we wanted to use the television, and needed some assistance, when we called the number that was left, the call was blocked. On a whim , we texted Fortunately, they responded right away. But ultimately, after 6 PM you are on your own in terms of staffing. Overall, I can recommend Beaufort House, but I think next time I will try something different.

Delicious and well presented. I've really appreciated the space they provide. They are around but some BnB's you feel that you are imposing on their home. I never felt that way here. The property is beautiful with tall trees and the pleasure of watching the fireflies come out at night. They have quails, chickens and goats. Not really setup to interact with but you can visit on walks.

Arturo made wonderful breakfasts both mornings of our visit - very different from each other but both delicious! We loved meeting all of the other guests at breakfast also. We stayed in the Grove Park Room and loved it. It had plenty of space, a fireplace, air conditioning, TV, and wifi. Beyond that, the room just felt very charming. The house was built in 1905 and maintains that charm while not feeling lacking in amenities in any way. The location is excellent - very close to downtown. Parking is complementary with the room cost. We will be back next time we come to Asheville!

We got to hang out with their goats, roosters, and -- of course -- the dogs. Katie is an absolute sweetheart. She slept on the back deck of our cabin for the three nights we were there. Though Katie hung out with us for most of the trip, Poncho and the smaller one (I don't remember her name) only visited us at the cabin once -- and that was when they could smell we had food. That reminds me -- Watch out you don't leave any food out back where the dogs can get them. One of the dogs helped itself to some mashed potatoes from a local restaurant. Luckily, I didn't care for it very much anyhow, so it wasn't a huge loss ;) We visited in December for my birthday, but hope to make another trip again during a warmer season. I'm sure it's amazing out there during the Spring. Even in December with frost everywhere, it was still great sitting by the stream by the barn and enjoying some time just looking at the hills and surrounding landscape. Judie also has goat-milk soap, moisturizer and, home-made jam for sale at a few bucks each. Just be aware that, if you're flying back somewhere, the jam is too big for airport security, so either eat it before you leave or ship it home to yourself. Lastly, there are nearby areas and paths to hike, but with a beautiful cabin and an inviting hot tub, why would you ever want to leave? :)

They moved here from some big city, deciding they wanted a more rural lifestyle and made it work - they have a great working farm with livestock and plants. Visiting this place is kind of like living on a real farm - you feed the goats your leftovers, can milk the goats, pick the fruit and veggies yourself, and feed the chickens. They have a dog named Katie that will hike with you anywhere you want to go. BTW, she will also kill any wild chipmunks that cross her path! I also loved reading the stories from other patrons as they have a book where you can write your own story of what you did while there, where you're from, etc. Highly recommended!

When we got there Henry and Clare, who own this beautiful Bed and Breakfast, made us feel welcomed immediately. The grounds and the B & B are breathtaking. We stayed in the Lord Tenneyson Room. The lake nearby is Lake Glenviille which is incredible. They had a champayne cruise on the the lake and the next day evening drinks. They also served a full breakfast daily in the room. Clare and Henry gave us a map of hiking trails. They recommended Rainbow Falls and Whitewater Falls. Great hikes and even better scenery. This facility is well worth the 4 stars. Their service is just as good as any 5 star resort. It is romantic and well worth the trip.

He had never stayed in a place that did that for guests. It was always delicious and got us ready for a day of exploration. We went to the hospitality hour almost every day. The grounds were breathtaking, and our Lexington Suite was sumptuous. But the most wonderful thing happened to me during our stay. We had a 4-course breakfast. The first course was a delightful fruit parfait. The second course was a delicious frittata made by Karen and Steve's famous maple bacon. The third course was a really tasty scone. But the fourth course absolutely blew me away. Karen and Steve are classical musicians, and I knew they would be great. But their music touched my soul and had me in tears. I told Boo that I'll never stay in another hotel after this incredible experience. Karen and Steve were the most incredible owners and hosts. This has been the most wonderful memory of my life.
