This suite had 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom with a king bed and sitting room, another bedroom with 2 twin beds. My mom and I slept on the king bed. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable but I did sleep good! This suite has lots of stairs to get to it so that was a challenge with luggage but we made it. The furnishings are old, in style with the house, but comfortable. There were fans in the rooms which was nice. We arrived late at night and got the last private parking spot, which is also a walk to the house but doable. Breakfast is served 8:30a-9:30s and we went down about 9a. There were no seats available, the hostess came and apologized and told us the breakfast menu for the day. Bacon was on it and I LOVE some bacon. Finally got seated, breakfast arrived, no bacon, they were out of bacon! Dissatisfaction! After breakfast talked with inn hostess and told her we didn't need our room cleaned but could use some clean towels and trash taken out. She said ok, she would do it and then hang a rope across the steps to let the housekeeper know we didn't need service. Then we left for the day. Got back late, clean towels, trash not emptied. Next day, left the rope down, left for the day, got back late, no clean towels, trash still not emptied. Oh, and we went down to breakfast by 8:30 to make sure we got seats and food! I'm There is a small fridge in the dining area with ice in baggies and you can store something small but that's it. They do have coffee/tea and small snacks t/o the day and night. This place is clean but not exceptionally clean, the outside grounds were nice but not exceptionally nice. Which I feel is the theme for this place, everything is nice and comfortable but not exceptional. Back to the breakfast, they make your breakfast and serve you, there are no options, you get what they are serving. The food was good. Would I stay here again? Not sure but glad I did stay here at least once.,

The bathroom did leave some things to be desired. There was not a good place to put your toiletries. We also had to climb into a very deep bathtub to get to the shower... If you are clumsy, like me, you may walk away with a couple of bruises. The house itself was very pretty, and was decorated in a manner appropriate for the property. I would've liked to seen some warm blanket to sit out on the patio with, board games, or puzzles to pass the time. There was only one sofa, and it was not in a cozy little nook where you would want to hang out. The food was fine. The menu is heavy on carbs and sweet breakfast treats. They were executed well enough. But there was not any particular breakfast that knocked my socks off. Again it was fine. The location was very convenient to downtown Asheville. It would be a two minute drive or a 10 minute walk to downtown Asheville. This bed-and-breakfast did not appear to be owned and operated by the hosts, rather an absentee corporation or business. I think that made the difference. Everything was fine, but it didn't have that touch of home that you expect when you stay at a bed and breakfast. For example, when we wanted to use the television, and needed some assistance, when we called the number that was left, the call was blocked. On a whim , we texted Fortunately, they responded right away. But ultimately, after 6 PM you are on your own in terms of staffing. Overall, I can recommend Beaufort House, but I think next time I will try something different.

The amenities include a hot tub with stunning views as well as the best basement man cave that includes a pool table, shuffle board, and unique amenities like an old school Scrabble board. The breakfast features fresh fruit, delicious eggs, potatoes, and a variety of juices. We are not the typical frustrated novelist who always post reviews. During our trip to Asheville we wanted to experience the city but also have cabin time. Wildberry lodge provided us with the most relaxing and comfortable experience we could ever ask for. Wild berry is definitely a way to get out of the city and just enjoy the quietness of nature (without going too far of course!) The drive itself is around 25-30 mins from downtown Asheville - there are several ways to get here but the new foundland road was probably the best route. It's easy to stay in the cabin and go enjoy yourself in the city during the day or evening. Ken and Glenda were very hands off and so friendly - if you have questions on where to go or what to do they can accommodate everything! The main cabin has multiple rooms - gooseberry and some other room options. This is where you check in, get breakfast, game room, sit on the deck, coffee/cider bar and chit chat with other guests if your heart desires. The best part of our stay was Glenda's breakfasts! Her recipes were featured in an Asheville bed and breakfast recipe book! We signed up for a bfast time the day prior (anywhere from 8am-930am) and she is usually ready whenever we get there! Our first breakfast included - garden frittata, bacon, homemade English muffin, rosemary roasted potatoes and to finish it off - poached pear. Our second breakfast included pumpkin pecan pancakes, cranberry/apple chutney and sausages and ended it with a mixed berry cobbler. Everything was superb and very filling! We stayed in the honey moon suite to get the full cabin - on our own - experience and it was gorgeous! The bed is super comfy, everything was clean and up to date. It was almost like glamping! Only downside to our visit was the drive at night can be a bit scary if you are not use to driving on mountains. One of the first nights it was raining so it was slightly difficult coming back to the cabin from downtown Asheville. Just make sure you have a car and drive safely! We understand that their restaurant is no longer operation except for breakfast. But, if you are able to reserve breakfast, it's well worth it. We booked a 2-night stay at Mountain Magnolia bed & breakfast for June 11-13th. This was our second stay here as our first time was three years prior. We even booked the same upstairs corner room with a huge deck and balcony. The weather during our stay was humid and rainy. Upon checking in on an early Friday evening, the room appeared clean and welcoming. We immediately took showers to wash off the sweat and rain from our afternoon clay shooting. There is a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, however we didn't use it because of the stains on the tub floor. Even though it was most likely clean and sanitary, it wasn't screaming "come soak in me" the least bit. After a terrible dinner in town, we visited the hot springs hot tubs before coming back to our room for the night. It's unfortunate that the Inn did away with the restaurant they use to have down stairs. I loved that restaurant; it was incredibly convenient and they offered an amazing menu. Really bummed because the restaurant was half the appeal. Day 2, we woke up later than usual, but the keeper had our breakfast waiting for us on a tray downstairs. Yogurt and granola, blueberry bran muffin, mixed fruit bowl, coffee, and a hard boiled egg. Yummy. I had booked a massage with a gal that came to the inn around 11 am, and she did an amazing job. Then we traveled down the road to the rafting place and rafted the river. By the time we returned to the Inn, the keeper was gone for the night. Which was fine, except we were in desperate need of fresh towels. The bath towels they provided us with the room were soaking wet and dirty. We searched the entire Inn looking for a linen closet with no luck. So we finally made the decision to "borrow" the towels from the downstairs room that was clean and had no residents. At least, we think it had no residents. Ugh. I really hope we didn't take some poor couple's towels who had a super late arrival. Whoever thought that 2 towels for 2 adults for 2 nights was enough, was so wrong. I need 2 towels just for myself for 1 night. Lol. Anyway, after stealing towels from another room (don't worry, we left a note), we showered and headed to bed. Breakfast was available to us the second morning, but we were only interested in the coffee before hitting the road home. Here's a list of the positives: Parking is easy. The rooms are big, clean and welcoming. They provide WiFi. Checking in and out is easy, smooth and hassle-free. The balconies provide a beautiful view. The corner balcony is huge. The bed is super comfortable. There's air conditioning, a ceiling fan and extra fan in the wardrobe. There's a fireplace and extra blankets (also in the wardrobe). There's hangers in the wardrobe, in case you forgot to bring some. They also put the hair dryer in the wardrobe. They gave you a built-in treasure hunt game called "where is everything?" You have access to power outlets to charge your electronic devices. Breakfast is awesome. The inn keeper is nice and welcoming. They provide you with shampoo, conditioner and body wash in a wall dispenser. And the bathrooms have a jacuzzi tub. Here's a list of the negatives: Cell service is inconsistent (which isn't really their fault, it's just a spotty location). They only allow smoking in one area on the premises, and that area doesn't include your private balcony. You can only use the fireplace in the winter. They only provide you with 2 towels, which isn't enough for an extended stay. You could probably get more towels by asking the inn keeper, but make sure you do it in the morning when she's around and not evening when she's gone. The tubs could be cleaner. There is no tv in the rooms. The wardrobe in the room has no handles, making the opening of the doors quite a hassle. The drawers in the bottom of the wardrobe are broken, making them unusable. You can't turn the ceiling fan on high without it shaking uncontrollably, giving you the feeling of being in a deadly earth quake. The bathroom is small with no counter, leaving little room to place your makeup or toiletries. And the balcony is very unpleasant in the rain (they need to provide a table umbrella, or small gazebo of sorts). Normally, one would look at the negatives and think "well that's not so bad." However, when you see the price tag for a night's stay? That little stuff becomes a much bigger deal. We paid a little over $250 per night. The price tag was WAY too high for what they offer, in my personal opinion. With all that being said, I still heavily recommend this inn. We were told that the place is getting new owners soon, so hopefully they address the issues and maybe lower the price. We will definitely be back.

When we got there Henry and Clare, who own this beautiful Bed and Breakfast, made us feel welcomed immediately. The grounds and the B & B are breathtaking. We stayed in the Lord Tenneyson Room. The lake nearby is Lake Glenviille which is incredible. They had a champayne cruise on the the lake and the next day evening drinks. They also served a full breakfast daily in the room. Clare and Henry gave us a map of hiking trails. They recommended Rainbow Falls and Whitewater Falls. Great hikes and even better scenery. This facility is well worth the 4 stars. Their service is just as good as any 5 star resort. It is romantic and well worth the trip.

He had never stayed in a place that did that for guests. It was always delicious and got us ready for a day of exploration. We went to the hospitality hour almost every day. Claire and my husband talked about craft beers and she was such a sweetheart to remember what kind of beers he enjoyed and had them at the next days hospitality hour. We took all of Claire and Henry's recommendations on things to do and good places to eat. The house was built in 1905 and maintains that charm while not feeling lacking in amenities in any way. The location is excellent - very close to downtown. When I roll into a town and find the hotel room prices in excess of $100 I always check out the…read morelocal B&B's. One because it helps support a small business, two it's almost always a better experience and three cause you get a breakfast that's actually worth eating. When it comes to the Brevard area this is certainly the case and the Key Falls Inn is with out question the spot to go lay your head be it for just one night or for an extended stay! I rolled into the Key Falls Inn on a Wednesday around 5pm completely unannounced without any reservations, and having already checked there website figured no one else was staying there since the online reservation system showed all rooms as available. For nearly every bed and breakfast out there this is when customers will almost always find you at your worst. I located Bryan, outside serving meals to some people visiting for dinner, apparently the run a full service restaurant as well, more on that later. He was more than happy to accommodate my request for a room for the evening and had Kim show me the different rooms that where available. I had already seen the photos of all the rooms on the website but the website photos that are extremely dated and in need of updates really don't do the place any justice. First note on the rooms is they where all spotless and ready for guests. While this may be normal for hotels, when it comes to a B&B not expecting guests this is rare. I had originally planned on going for the cheapest room available, the Cochran Room, but decided against it since I was only there for one night and the Cochran's bathroom isn't connected to the room. I ended up going with the Pisgag Forest Room which is the only bedroom on the first floor. I am not sure I would normally have gone with this room, since its located on the first floor where all the common areas are, but on this visit I was the only person staying so I wasn't overly concerned about noise levels. Once I was checked in I took a walk along the nature trail to the Key Falls. The walk is a short, and only takes about five minutes. The trail could use some work as there are a number of blow downs but nothing that isn't manageable. At the end of the trail you will find a sitting area with a fire ring and the top of the falls themselves. Its worth noting that if you want to see a full view of the falls, when you reach the road that crosses the trail hang a right and walk a couple hundred yards up the gravel road to reach the base of the falls. Sadly during my visit water levels had been low and with not much rain over the summer the falls where mostly just a trickle. That said if its been rainy I can see the falls as being a beautiful site. After my short trail walk, I head over to the outdoor eating area to grab some dinner. They do have a full restaurant onsite with a menu that changes on a weekly basis. As soon as I saw the menu I was a bit surprised at how low the prices where for dinner. The first thought I had was "there is no way these are dinner portions". When my meal arrived my thoughts where confirmed and found that the serving portions are extremely small. I ended up actually ordering two separate meals for dinner of the menu. While they may have been small in size both where amazingly good, and at only $9.00 each the total cost of two still came up lower than I would have expected to pay for a dinner of that quality. After dinner I headed to my room and almost immediately feel asleep. The room was nice, clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I could have done with out the massive number of decorative pillows on the bed, but I get it thats an appearance thing. In terms of the room it had a full bathroom with a tub, a gas fireplace (that I assume worked, but since it was summer I can't say one way or another). While it didn't bother me at all it is worth noting that there is no TV in the room, which for some might be desirable. The only thing I think that could be improved about the room, is in this day and age of technology, there needs to be some power outlets that are more accessible to guests. At minimum every one these days has at least a cell phone that needs to be charged overnight. I woke up in the morning and watched the sunrise from the front porch which was extremely peaceful and shortly there after Bryan let me know coffee was ready. He even offered to bring it out to me on the porch if I wanted to have my morning coffee on the porch. He also let me know Breakfast would be ready shortly. Bryan was awesome about the breakfast side of things, the B&B normally serves breakfast at 08:30 but I had a 9:00 class that was about a twenty minute drive away. Bryan was more than happy to make me breakfast early to ensure that I was able to get to class on time. Breakfast was amazing and the portion size was wonderful. I will definitely be returning here again in the future. Pros: Price, Food, Friendly Staff, Accommodating to needs, Comfortable!
