WORTH THE WAIT!!! Attended the soft open on a Saturday night. Waited over an hour for food. But who cares the food was soooo good!!! They JUST opened people. Give them a chance to work out the issues and find their groove. People here on yelp are so brutal with the reviews. The staff was profusely apologetic for the long wait. You could tell they were all trying their best but were just overwhelmed by all the customers. We ordered the Koobideh taco and the Ghormeh Sabzi taco. Both were really good. I appreciated the small diced pickled carrots and cauliflower included in the Ghormeh Sabzi taco (torshi) and pickled onions on the koobideh taco. The Koobideh was sooooo tender and flavorful. We ordered our food to go and sat outside at the tables. It was a beautiful night so we didn't mind sitting outside. Hoping to be able to get a table on their patio next time the lighting and vibe out there looked great. There was only one minor criticism I had which is also more of managing expectations on my part. There was a food truck that used to sell Tadig Tacos and I was expecting it to be like that. But it's definitely not the same. I appreciate that the tacos were made from lavash bread. However for me, I would've liked them to be a lot more fried and crispy and more like actual tahdig. They looked more like a seared wrap when I saw them serving it to others. When I noticed that I requested that mine be made extra crispy and they delivered. We are definitely coming back. The menu looked so good. There's so many more dishes I want to try.

Soltani and Zereshk wings

Our first time at Tadig Kitchen and it was AMAZING! We're so impressed with everything! All the details in their decor, plating, and service show how much they care about the customer experience. We ordered a few different plates so we could try a little bit of everything. Mast o moosir was delicious! The tadig sampler was absolutely incredible, with a uniquely crispy tadig and their gheymeh, ghormeh sabzi, and fesenjan were so perfect! They even include the meat in each of the 3 stews for the tadig, which other places never do. Their zereshk wings were so tasty and crispy! For our meal, we had the beef soltani and kabob tadig taco. The meat was so flavorful and delicious! We couldn't get enough! Some of the best kabob we've ever had! Do not listen to negative reviews on here. They are a brand new restaurant and are just getting their rhythm. Any new establishment needs some time. The food speaks for itself. The service was amazing and the staff was so kind. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!! Give this place a try and you will love it!

Absolutely loved Tahdig Kitchen! I tried the Koobideh Taco and Mahicheh Taco, and both were incredible -- packed with flavor, creative, and beautifully done. I did have to wait about 45 minutes for my food, which felt long at first, but after trying it, I can honestly say it was worth the wait. The Mahicheh was especially tender and delicious. The staff was also great -- friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Great food, great people, and such a unique take on Persian flavors. Definitely coming back!

We had been waiting for Tahdig Kitchen to open for literally almost a year and a half. We're frequent visitors of Saffron & Rose nearby, so every time we were in the area we would see the storefront with the "Coming Soon" sign and wonder when it was finally going to open (I'm a huge lover of tahdig, so I was super happy to finally get a restaurant focused on one of my fav dishes). I was so excited when I saw a TikTok saying they were officially open. We decided to go yesterday for a Sunday meal with my family. We got there around 3 PM only to find a sign on the door saying they were "Closed until 6 PM." Apparently, they had run out of food from their earlier operations. Honestly, my first thought was, "Okay, this must be really good then" lol!! I do think they really should have posted the closure on their social media. I specifically checked their socials before we left because I always check hours before driving somewhere new, and there was nothing posted. We live about 25-30 minutes away, and while we were there, we watched so many other people walk up, see the sign, and leave disappointed. We even heard people saying they had driven from pretty far away. Since we had already made the drive, we stayed in the area and went to Super Irvine while we waited. We came back and by around 5 PM, people were already hanging around outside and a line was starting to form. At that point, since we had eaten a at Super Irvine and weren't trying to wait until 6 PM to sit down for dinner, we decided we would just order takeout. Once they opened, we ordered the koobideh tahdig tacos at the counter. I completely understand that they had only been open for about three days, so obviously not everything is going to be perfect, but the operation felt extremely disorganized. The team just did not seem prepared for the volume of people coming in. What confused me is that the owners also operate I Heart Pancakes next door, so this isn't their first experience running a restaurant or dealing with customers. Also, just something I noticed: there is a lot of AI-generated artwork/decor throughout the restaurant, and the menu itself uses AI-generated imagery. If that's something you care about, just a heads-up. We waited about 15 minutes for our takeout order and headed home. Unfortunately, once we opened the boxes, that's where the biggest disappointment happened. The tahdig tacos looked NOTHING like what I had seen posted on TikTok. The crispy rice wasn't really formed onto the bread, there was barely any actual crispy tahdig texture, and the rice was basically falling off everywhere. It just looked completely different from what had been advertised online. More importantly, the koobideh inside ours appeared seriously undercooked/raw in the center. That immediately made us uncomfortable eating it. When I order takeout from a restaurant, especially meat, I expect it to arrive fully cooked and ready to eat, not something I feel like I need to put back on the stove myself. That was the biggest issue for me because it goes beyond presentation or opening-week disorganization and becomes a food-safety concern. By the time we picked up our food, the line was out the door, so there is clearly a ton of interest in this place. I genuinely think a lot of people, including us, were really excited to finally try it after waiting so long. I wanted to love Tahdig Kitchen, especially because Persian food presented in a fun, different way sounded amazing. Unfortunately, our first experience was really disappointing. Between the unexpected closure with no social media update, the disorganization, the food looking completely different from what we had seen promoted online, and especially the undercooked koobideh, it just wasn't a good experience. I may give them another chance once they've been open longer and have had time to work out the operational issues, because I really do want to see a concept like this succeed. But based on this visit, they definitely have some things to figure out.

I absolutely love that Orange County finally has delicious Persian food. Everything is made fresh, the dishes are beautifully presented, and the best part? They're OPEN LATE. Finally. The zereshk wings are insanely crispy and delicious, the sumac street fries are bomb, and both the gheymeh and ghormeh sabzi are seriously on point. And for the finale... the Baktiari kabob and beef koobideh are OUT OF THIS WORLD. The attention to creative detail throughout the menu and presentation is seriously impressive. It's so refreshing to see Persian food done with this much care, creativity, and consistency in Orange County. ‍

Not sure why everyone is hating on the place ... here now for lunch and wow... maybe it was growing pains but the tags of sampler and koobideh taco was 10/10

Ghormeh Sabzi Tahdig Taco, Salad Shirazi, Salad Oliveh

I like to think that I'm a patient person, but this place was absolutely ridiculous. Saw bomb reviews and ads so we were interested in trying. Line was hella long so we were like okay it has to be authentic? So we order and the cashier is already rude. We try to ask about dining in, but the waiter ignored us. Anyways, we ordered a good $80 worth of food to go at 6:45pm. My friend waits inside and next thing you know, it's 7:30pm. She tries asking multiple times about the status of our order, but they dismiss her. If this is the service given when you just opened, then it can only get worse from here. People outside are getting upset as well bc it's taking so long. We request for a refund and the worker doesn't even know how to properly process a refund so he saids "please bear with us." Mind you we've been patiently waiting for over an hour with no update on our order. They ended up prioritizing our take out order over others so I feel awful for the others bc they've been waiting for over 2 hours with no update. Like don't take orders if you can't fulfill them. Anyways, at least we get our food by 8pm. Already the portions are tiny. Shirazi salad is so flavorful and def needs some salt and lemon. The salad oliveh needed more flavor too. On top of that, the pita was dry and cold. I was excited for the ghormeh sabzi tahdig taco (we ordered two) and IT WAS DISGUSTING. Wasn't even crispy and the portion inside the taco accumulated to probably 10 beans. Cut a 2x2 piece for me near the middle and there wasn't even any ghormeh sabzi inside. If tahdig is in the restaurant name, I would assume this would be at least decent. To conclude, I def don't recommend this place. Not only for the food, but the portions, price, and awful service. I heard people dining in rave about it when they were leaving, but take out people should still be getting that experience. Love persian food tho but try smth else

Overall, it's nice experience except the waiting time is quite long. The taco is very good, and the baklava is also great! Service people are pretty nice and friendly, they offered free sides when we wait. Hector (hope I remembered correctly) is really helpful and keep checking us I'll definitely come back to try more different foods! Hope next time the waiting will be shorter!

Super friendly staff. Definitely order their koobideh taco. Their tea also hits

We have ordered Panini countless times in the past 7 years, for our sales and operation team's lunch. Today, we received our order excluding the rice. Turns out, not only has Panini stopped giving pita bread, they stopped offering rice too! No more is there rice and pita bread offered with your shish kabob order. Prices have soared and customers receive less and less. So when we called asking where our rice was, Panini charged $50 extra AND we had to go back and pick up, even after it was initially ordered. Not happy with their food quality either. Chicken was stringy and chewy, koobedeh was cold and bland. All 2 trays of chicken, one tray of koobideh and Panini gave two salad trays and forgot our rice!! NO remorse. No apologies. Wishing for the good days when food was fresh, tasty, hot and served with great customer service. So sad to say this about one of our old favorite restaurants which is across the street from our office. Hope they work on their issues. It has been an expensive day costing us $750

I ordered the chicken…read moreshawarma plate, and the portion of chicken was surprisingly small, just a few tiny strips compared to a huge mountain of rice. It honestly felt like the plate was mostly rice rather than a chicken shawarma plate. As well the pita bread does not seem freshly made but packaged taken out of a bag from a market. The hummus and tzatziki were also very watery and lacked the texture I expected. I tried the cucumber refresher as well, which was okay, but it had a noticeable tap-water taste that made it less enjoyable. What bothered me most was the service. When our server asked if everything was okay, I politely mentioned that there was very little chicken on my plate. Instead of acknowledging my concern, offering an explanation, or trying to make it right, he simply walked away. Why ask how everything is if you're going to ignore the answer? Unfortunately, I left feeling like I basically paid for a plate of rice. I was full, but mostly because of the mountain of rice, not because I received a satisfying chicken shawarma meal. Between the portions, watery sauces, and dismissive service, this was a disappointing experience.
