This place is right by my hotel, and looks very popular, possibly because it was open on a Monday where a lot of restaurants are closed. I walked in around 6pm for an early dinner, and it was easy to get a seat (saw a few other folks do so), but you might be asked to give up your seat at a specific time when they have reservations.
The staff is really nice, but the food is just ok. The menu is rather big and I was looking for something lighter, so I got khao soi (curry noodles), which is definitely quite a bit richer than I was looking for. No matter, I love curry -- and if you order prawns, it does come with 4 large prawns with heads and tails intact, and the middle nicely deshelled for easy access.
The curry was definitely a bit thick for my tastes (thick like direct curry sauce on top of noodles instead of rice, which isn't what I'm used to for noodles), and the noodles already overcooked and goopy by the time it got to me. The prawns were ok, not the freshest but yummy still. I wish there were a bit more sprouts in it to balance the dish out, but otherwise the curry has good flavours.
Overall points for being convenient and accommodating! Come here if you're sick of British food ha ha. read more
