The line up: Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot

Lovely west county experience. I love visiting wineries off the beaten path as they tend to have a more intimate and welcoming experience and Taft certainly meets the bill. They are welcoming, friendly and a great place to have a casual and enjoyable wine experience. Taft is the kind of place you can visit for the afternoon, bring a snack with you and enjoy the outdoor picnic space with your newly acquired Taft wine. in the warm months on the weekends you may find yourself enjoying live music. They offer a variety of lovely Chardonnay and Pinot selections at reasonable price points. I highly recommend visiting.

I've been to Taft Street twice -- once for a special event and once for wine tasting with friends -- and both times have been absolutely delightful! First of all, the staff here are super welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed learning about their wines in a laidback, casual atmosphere. This is not a stuffy winery, which is refreshing! Secondly, their wines are delicious! The winemaker is a woman (!!!) and she's doing a great job. On my recent tasting, I enjoyed the sauvignon blanc (so crisp!), the rose (of pinot noir), and all the reds I tried. Me and my friends loved the grenache so much that we each left with a bottle. :) Finally, they have a beautiful patio to enjoy the lovely West County spring weather. There are umbrellas for shade and they allow you to bring in food. I was impressed with their COVID protocols and everything was clean and safe. I can't recommend Taft Street Winery highly enough. I'll definitely be back to bring friends and family.

Lovely winery that we did a paint and sip meetup at. The outdoor areas are excellent for picnicking, and includes cornhole and bocce ball. I could easily see this as a wonderful spot to host a large party. We tasted four of their wines and they were all excellent, the wine host was so friendly and welcoming. Great spot.

Great wines, great venue and wonderful server Toby! We enjoyed all the wines and getting to know Toby. The wines were definitely quality and we ended up purchasing the 2019 Garagistes Pinot Noir. The grounds out back were beautiful and I could see us loving a glass and listening to live music out there. Toby was attentive, enthusiastic and relatable. We will be back!

Siri does not know where this place is! We circled and circled because she was about 400ft off on every turn to get there. We persevered! We got to the wine. It's cute. There's no inside seating so if it's rainy and stormy, you're going to get drenched. Bathrooms are clean and gender neutral single stalled. Wine was great! They do not serve any food but allow you to bring in whatever food you'd like. Flights start at $15. The staff was very friendly. I'd love to go back. Not much parking

Taft Street is another great winery near the Russian river. The tasting room is not spectacular but the wines are. The room is clean and brightly lit. And we were blessed by the owner serving us personally.

Great wine, warm and welcoming hospitality, relaxed and inviting tasting room and outdoor seating.

Wine tasting is at the building to the right when you enter. Beautiful tasting room with seating inside and outside. Wine tasting consists of 6 wines for $10. Staff was very informative and friendly. Highly recommend! Bottle prices range from $20-40.

Had a very nice tasting here, the server was personable, attentive, knowledgeable...and he had jokes....winner winner. The tasting room is off the beaten path but a worthy trip. They have a small patio area in case you want to bring nash-ables. Wines are very subjective, I really enjoyed their whites, the sauvignon was my favorite, slight tropical notes, followed by the unoaked chardonnay...bright, with viscosity, not 100% ML yet great texture. I would recommend visiting Taft.

Pino noir

We had a great time and the wines were fantastic. Even joined the club. One of the first Rose and Pino Wines I enjoyed. The outdoor area was open and welcoming.

Tasting room. Cozy couches.

They have a massive deck in front, and on a beautiful day, as we had, we got to sit out there and enjoy some delicious wines. I thought the wines were good, but I liked the space more. It has a bit of a retro vibe and many shaded areas to relax. We had a good time sipping and chatting. If you're in the area, I would say stop, get a few glasses, and enjoy that oversized patio. For some reason, the servicer was busy doing other things, although I think we were the only people there. I'll assume she was setting up or cleaning. The service was mediocre at best. We enjoyed the big patio/deck sipping with friends a perfect way to spend your Saturday afternoon. Cheers to you and SYOY

So after we hit Paul Matthew's Winery I had scheduled a visit with Bowman Cellars around the corner…read moreand was greeted by the energetic Flynn. She was attentive for awhile but then lost us because she stopped coming out and pouring more wine. I was booked for a one hour appointment that took 2 plus hours because Flynn seemed out of it or something was up. But idk what it was perhaps she was keeping herself busy with something inside! Hmmm ?! So she started us with a predominant gooseberry Sauvignon Blanc and then we had the Rose of Pinot Noir from Mendocino because the fruit is less expensive than the fruit in the Russian River Valley okay so it was decent with flavors of ripe red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry and a textured finish! Then we had the Chardonnay which was decent quality for a Chardonnay it had seen 20^ new oak gave it flavor and then we had the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir which was okay not great it had complexity but not much after hitting Paul Mathew's Pinot dense winery this Pinot seemed to be just okay and then we got to the final wine a red Zinfandel from the Sierra Foothills area and it was big and bold but lacking distinctive flavors. I didn't love it! . Then since they're not especially friendly towards those in the business because it's a 15% discount on wines purchased where I usually get a 30% discount and a comped tasting to which they usually will offer the rose' and Sauvignon Blanc to anyone in the industry!! Only I mean who is in the wine industry and wants to drink those wines, not me!! But I stand corrected because she did comp 2 of the tastings!! And that's good or required because I asked to be comped and was given some goofy answer as to they decide at the end of the tasting who gets comped or not but the fee is only $25 bones so not bad. Further, I requested to taste their Cabs to which theirs 1 from Alexander Valley and 1 from Oakville, Napa area and Flynn said yes, but warned me they had been opened on Thursday and it's Saturday so taken that point in I really liked the Cab from Alexander Valley because it had a light tone to it with a richness of blackberry fruit and savory spices it was superb while the one from Napa tasted dead on arrival!! Oh well but I could taste the potential of the wine within it!! And we left after tipping $40 bones!!

They were making pizza in their own pizza oven today- however for a 10 inch pizza I thought $22 was a little bit much. There are definitely a nice variety of Pinot's offered. We all loved the wines so much that everyone bought at least 1 bottle, and two of us signed up for their wine club. In fact, we had such a good time, that our group came BACK to share a bottle of wine in between our reservations. Dave took care of us and we were happy to spend some more time with him. It is such a great place -- the wine is incredible, service is excellent, views are gorgeous, and you feel you are right where you belong. Cheers!

This business does not care about it's customers and is so impossible to reach it's almost comical…read more I was a long-term customer of Fog Crest. In 2024 we received a shipment of wine where all the wine in the shipment was broken. In typical situations, wineries offer replacement of broken bottles, but Fog Crest was impossible to reach in spite of (literally) 50 phone calls and emails. Since I couldn't reach them, I canceled my subscription to their wine club. Flash forward a few months, they charge me another ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but never ship me any wine (in spite of the fact that I had already canceled online). Again, dozens of calls and emails, no answer and no response. Still trying. A few months after that, they charge me ANOTHER ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but don't ship that wine to me either. After probably 100 calls and emails, I finally talk to the wine club coordinator on the phone. She of course acknowledges my dozens of messages, and acknowledges my situation. She says she will replace the wine that was broken and figure out why they've been charging me for wine I haven't been receiving and make it right. But that she can't talk right now and she'd call me back with more information. That was a month ago. I've now called again dozens of times, and emailed. No response. Called and emailed the owner, no response. This is borderline criminal: $1,500 in charges for undelivered product, a non-existent customer service experience, and an online system so archaic that it doesn't process your cancelation and continues to charge you for product.

We joined their wine club in 2023 and was charged $420 all of 2024/25 for wine that they NEVER shipped. When I called to inquire about where the wine was, I was met with complete silence--multiple calls and messages went unanswered. After finally getting a call back, the person said they only called me back because "she saw we had called a lot in one day." That was the first red flag. She promised to credit my account and look into another charge that had been applied. It's been SEVEN days since that conversation, and STILL no credit, no updates, and no resolution. I've followed up with multiple calls, messages, and emails... NOTHING. At this point, it's clear that they don't care about their customers. I highly recommend staying far away from Fog Crest if you value your time and money. Total waste of both

Upon arrival, we checked in and got to choose where we wanted to sit -inside or outside. It's a relatively small space, but we enjoyed our spot outside, as it was great weather that day. Everyone has a different palette, but we enjoyed the Warren's Hill pinot - which had a grippier, more tannin-heavy taste (than typical pinot noirs we were associated with). Aromatic, umami, darker berry fruit forward. As I preluded, the sauvignon blanc was fantastic - very fruity on the nose. Clean and bright, and I get predominantly pineapple/tropical notes. Would definitely come back again. We joined their allocation list, as they don't offer a typical wine club experience.

Place was empty aside from one other party so they were able to accommodate the walk in. The tasting room itself is nicely decorated, clean, spacious, with a more private room in the back and several tables outside. Reason from giving this place a 5 stars is we felt this place was very transactional and not personable like many other wineries in the Sonoma area. Once the tasting flight is done they ask you to either join the club for the comp, buy two bottles, or pay the $35 tasting fee - no offer to revisit any wines or pour something extra they have in inventory. I was curious to try their Sonoma cost Syrah but they didn't have any bottles open. Wines themselves were fine - enjoyed the Pinot rose and Chardonnay (made in Chablis style so more minerality), but their Pinot noirs were quite different from the typical Sonoma coast ones I've had (e.g Williams seylem, Kosta browne, Rochiolli, Arista, etc). These were much darker and less aromatic, no tannins and fuller bodied with some spice notes but short finish. The gentleman pouring for us said these are good to pair with foods, which I could imagine is true. Their estate syrah is similar in style, so similar to their Pinot noir actually, a lighter bodies and ABV Syrah that doesn't have the depth and complexity as syrahs from Paso region that I personally enjoy. But anyways, these are personal preference - when I mentioned a specific tasting note, our host basically said I was wrong. I laughed it off and went along with it, but it didn't sit well.

We've heard a lot of stellar reviews for Iron Horse, so we were underwhelmed by our experience. To start, we checked in at the front, got a glass of sparkling to start, and was told to wait for everyone joining us to get here. We waited for a few minutes. Our host ended up forgetting us and started walking off with the other party when they finally showed up, and the guy we checked in with had to go tell him we were part of his group. I enjoyed the charcuterie box that comes with the tasting, albeit there was some moldy bits here and there. We got the harvest magnum experience ($90/person). They offer more affordable experiences as well. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with any of the wines. I did enjoy the seating experience, the charcuterie box, and the mini impromptu tour everyone was given of the production. The wine itself was underwhelming for the price and as nothing stood out to us, we finished our tasting and didn't grab anything to go. As we weren't wine club members here, the host didn't pay us much attention. Worth trying once, maybe, to see if their wines are to your liking.
