My first time to their location in Sebastopol. I typically go to the one in Healdsburg and enjoy that location quite a bit. I always come to listen to music- specifically jazz, which they feature quite a bit. The outdoor setting at this location is very nice. I could see it conducive for events or group reservations. I came with a friend to hear the music and there's plenty of seating. There's a huge redwood tree near the table which offers shade and there are also umbrellas in the sunnier locations. They were making pizza in their own pizza oven today- however for a 10 inch pizza I thought $22 was a little bit much. There are definitely a nice variety of Pinot's offered. However, I was in the mood for something chilled and I opted for their Rose of Pinot. I was pleased with the size of the pour but not sure I would order that variety again. All right, I'm a little obsessed with Furthermore Wines. Our group of 8 had an AMAZING experience here. Dave was our host, and he was so knowledgeable, so personable, and so fun. He took excellent care of us and truly spoiled our group at our tasting. We did a small tour on the grounds and learned a lot about their process and the pinot noir process in general. We all loved the wines so much that everyone bought at least 1 bottle, and two of us signed up for their wine club. In fact, we had such a good time, that our group came BACK to share a bottle of wine in between our reservations. Dave took care of us and we were happy to spend some more time with him. It is such a great place -- the wine is incredible, service is excellent, views are gorgeous, and you feel you are right where you belong. Cheers! read more

The Pinot Noirs are quite tasty and their grounds are lovely, but what Furthermore lacks is genuine customer service. Been here twice so far; once with a friend and once by myself but both times have been during wine a tasting event weekend. In both instances, there was little to no information provided about the wines being poured. Also, I noticed that when I've sat outside, they didn't have anyone coming out to pour the wines. Maybe because I came during an event tasting?! I had to get up and walk back to the tasting room to get my next pour. There was one lady who was servicing a large group outside, but that was it. The pours have also been very small compared to the other wineries that I frequent in the area. They have a beautiful back patio space that's set amongst the trees. There's also a large bocce ball court, several picnic tables, and Adirondack chairs surrounding it. It's fun to watch people play bocce ball while sipping on their wines. Speaking of their wines; their Pinots are where they truly shine and it makes sense since this is what they're known for. They have a very diverse lineup of Pinot Noirs that are made with grapes from several different wine regions. If you're a Pinot lover, you'll be sure to find a Pinot that you like. I feel like Furthermore is geared toward friends and groups who just want to chill out, relax, and drink wine while socializing with each other. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that of course. But for someone like me who enjoys learning about the wine and the history of the winery, it makes me feel like something is missing when wine is poured without any sort of explanation or engagement from the pourer. I feel like I can go to any old wine bar for that kind of experience. I also should reiterate that I did come here both times during an event tasting weekend, so maybe that's why things were different (although I didn't have this issue with any of the other wineries that I went to). Either way, their Pinots are great and I would still like to give them another chance at some point. Furthermore winery was amazing for a family with little kids. Walk ins welcome. No reservations needed. Kid friendly. They even gave our kids monster trucks to play with. Attended a Sunday free music event on the patio. Performers were a duo who played and sang a variety of songs mostly in the style of Brazilian bossa nova. Patio area is in tree covered semi-shade and and has a few umbrellas. There are tables for two, four, eight gatherings. We bought 4 glasses of wine to sample a diverse tasting. Furthermore has a long list of different pinot noirs. We also drank the rose and chardonnay. Wine is so tasty that I joined the wine club. Average bottle price is around $50. Serving staff were all friendly, informative and helpful. The summer music series runs through September, check the website calendar. I plan to attend some more musical events. 5 stars! read more

Spent a lovely Friday afternoon with my husband, sister and brother-in-law at Furthermore for a picnic and wine tasting while enjoying music from solo artist, Adam Lieb. Adam kept the crowd engaged by playing everyone's request. Our wine was presented, explained and delivered by David who was most knowledgeable and very friendly. We mainly enjoyed the tasty Pinot Noirs. This was my first time at the winery and upon further review I see that there are quite a few live artists performing throughout the month. i was a member of their wine club in the past but i cancelled because it offers no benefits...for example I reserved a table well in advance at an event they advertised with music and food but. when we showed up on time, they did not have a table for us as any non members and people with no reservations were free to just come and sit wherever. This was our final stop at our one full day in Sonoma. It was a cute place right off the road. It wasn't super busy with just a couple other parties there but their outdoor tasting area was very cute and made for a nice respite from the day. Everyone was really nice and definitely gave us our space to taste the wines. There was one in particular where she gave us another vintage of the wine on the list - their award winner, she said. Furthermore wines is a smaller boutique vineyard in the Sebastopol area. We had such a great experience! We had our tasting in the little courtyard area and got a great variety of wines to try. Pinot noir is my favorite type of wine and all of the pinots we tried were delicious. Our host, Alex, was very knowledgeable about the wines, vineyard, and was a wonderful guide throughout our experience. We were able to ship a few bottles of wine home to PA as well! Particular fondness for the 2016 Alchemy and the 2019 RRV pinots. But not a single wine disappointed. Four anti-Chardonnay people fell in love with theirs. We were like, "What is happening in our mouths?" 2. Setting. Lovely. You're close to the road but would never know it. Set under an enormous Sequoia, surrounded by overloaded citrus trees (they'll give you some lemons!), the casual outdoor setting was perfect for a sunny day. I loved my stop at Furthermore Wines. The venue is absolutely beautiful with the vineyards and then a nice open space with picnic tables and chairs. The day I went there were live bands playing and everyone was hanging out in the outdoor space, as well as food trucks offering what looked like incredible food (although I didn't have any). I had the tasting flight and every wine I had was fabulous. What made the experience for me however was the service. I believe the guy serving me was named Greg and he was so friendly and knowledgeable and even started giving me some wines off the menu to taste based on what I was responding to. Pinot! Pinot! Pinot! I kind of wish that's all this review would be but there's more to say. First the outside area is super fun with bocce and bag toss. They are kid friendly with area to run around and enjoy the huge trees and vineyards. The couple who was pouring were knowledgeable and friendly (thanks Pat!). Ok, the good stuff, the wine. Chard was good, not too oak-y but they specialize in Pinot and you can tell. Tried 5 and all were different showcasing what Pinot can bring from the nose to the finish and everywhere in between. I'm not a drinker. I will say that again. But my friends would not let me leave without letting me taste the sole reason we came here for. At the Matrix winery, one of the wine pourers could not stop raving about something called an "Apple Port." After much persuasion, my gf put the wine glass to my lips and I hesitantly took the tiniest sip of this much hyped Apple Port. Can you say Wow? It's like they took the essence of an apple and turned it into the most sophisticated taste in wine. It was sweet but not overly so and i could just imagine doing a reduction sauce (ahem I've only seen this on the Food Chanel) and pouring it over some vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, and even apple pie ala mode! For a non wine drinker, I highly recommend this place just for the Apple Port. Since I tasted this, I was also convinced to try a small sip of the Zinfandel Port. Can you say smooth? We had such a great time! I had won a Tour and Tasting at a fundraiser to Graton Ridge. So off we went on a Sunday morning to go wine tasting. We were met by the tasting room manager, Pat and another very nice lady. We tasted wine and then Pat took us on a quick little tour to the vineyards, Bocce Ball and picnic area and then over to the barrel room. The tour was informative and interested. We even got to taste some wines right out of the barrel. Then back to the tasting room for more wine tasting and a few parings with blue cheese and chocolate. It was such a great day. The winery is small and they have a small production. But boy what they do they do right!I loved the Chardonnay (which I don't favor). This is a great spot to check out when you are tasting along 116 in Sebastopol. This winery is centrally located and easy to get to. It is also located near many other great wineries so you can easily make a day out of it. I have been to this spot a few times and my last visit inspired me to write a review. They have a few areas for hangouts and even have a bocce court! There are no strict rules to play bocce, just first come first serve. #westcountystyle. During my last visit, I just tasted their blush wine and their reds. The blush wine is a good option when paired with foods. It's on the dryer side, which works well with richer foods and cheeses. Of the reds, my preferred choice was their Pinot Noir. I tried both Pinots and preferred the Pinot over the Pinot Reserve. The Pinot was easy to drink, darker berries, and well balanced. Not an overly dark Pinot Noir but still in the Russian River style Pinot. For those who like stronger Oak wines, you will enjoy the Pinot Reserve. The staff members are all also great. I spent my time with the tasting room manager and his wife. They were both wonderful people. Lot's of fun to talk to. We were all laughing and having a great time. The indoor wine tasting room is country casual and welcoming. They also have beautiful art on the walls. They have a collection of super cool artwork involving photographs where the colors are enhanced. Ultimately, it looks like a painting. Very interesting and beautiful to look at. For the times I have visited, they always have some sort of food offering (maybe I just came at the right times). Food offerings have been chili, meatballs, assorted cheeses, and bread and crackers. In addition, they have an olive oil tasting area and a condiment tasting area (think fancy mustards). Along your 116 wine tasting adventures, be sure to check this place out. Graton Ridge Cellars is a real gem in Sonoma County, the staff are all very polite and knowledgeable about their incredible wines. Besides their fantastic wines, they have a beautiful bocce ball court and picnic area overlooking the quaint vineyards. They have a beautiful Chardonnay that is very fruit forward and delicate as well as award winning, not to mention their Pinot's and Zinfandel which blow the competition out of the water! The 2011 Zinfandel just won a Best of Class and a Gold medal at the Grand Harvest Awards. One of the most incredible things there are their ports, they have a one-of-a-kind Apple port and a phenomenal Zinfandel port (they provide a small pairing of blue cheese with the apple port and chocolate with the Zin port).
