Another fun and successful winery experience! Merry Edwards was high on my list to try after we'd read about the history, and it did not disappoint. More gorgeous views, amazing wine, incredible history, and great service. We brought charcuterie to snack and pair with our wine tasting and really enjoyed the gorgeous space where we were seated. We had the room to ourselves with a party of 8, and the service was on point. Always love to see women-owned or women-run businesses and Merry Edwards had a great story and I loved learning all about it. The wines were really great and our party ordered a few bottles to be shipped - a nice perk to not have to lug them around.

    Can you spot it??

The service is wonderful and the space is serene. We came during a slower time towards the end of a Sunday and the wine, service, atmosphere was excellent. It's a small winery, recently bought out by a major champagne house, and they are known for their Sauvignon blanc. I also think their merlots are on many restaurant wine lists. The patio space is comfortable and they have a house cat sitting next to their vast vineyard. There is a semi private tasting room indoors with additional tasting space. Nice stop nearby.

I've only been here once years ago. Went today with some gal pals and it was absolutely fabulous. Our server/educator Max was the best. They have some lovely pinots and an over-the-top creamy sauvignon blanc like you've never tasted before. Beautiful venue it's a must do. The original winemaker Merry Edwards is quite fabulous and well-known in the area highly recommended

My girlfriend and I went to visit Merry Edward's winery for her birthday today, aftwr a friend recommended them for their Pinot noirs. It was such a treat. Our server, Scott, was attentive and knowledgeable without ever being overbearing. I really enjoyed talking about Italian and California wines with him. Scott also talked about the wines he loved by chatting about food pairings, which is something my gf and I enjoyed and took note of. The Pinot reserve wine tasting was wonderful, truly. Just a lovely experience. The Sauvignon blanc at the end was a fruity and lovely as the other comments indicate. Anyways, if you're thinking to visit, you should.

Come for the wine, fall in love with the cat Absolute purrfection Cloe stole the show for me. Wonderfully sweet mascot who happily greeted and took pets from anyone who wanted to give them. Her sun bleached fur was so soft. Once I was able to drag myself away from the cat we had a lovely tasting. Enjoyed all of the wines that were presented. Nicely landscaped patio was the perfect spot to start our day in Sonoma.

Had a lovely tasting here late last week. The tasting room was very welcoming. We had a lovely view of the grapes. The Pinots were outstanding. Our host was so knowledgeable about which would go well with my palette. He was spot on. Highly suggest a visit.

My besties a crazy delicious tasting today and what a gorgeous day we had!

I had the extreme pleasure of drinking the 2019 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir a few times and I cannot stress how delicious it is and it is thee smoothest Pinot Noir I have ever had in my life! I hold all other Pinot Noir's up to their standards from this day forward. And now for the 2012 Merry Edwards Cuvée Olivet Sparkling Wine it has brioche notes as well as pear, also is late disgorged $80 a bottle it is absolutely worth it. Now Merry Edwards Legacy Russian River Pinot Noir 2019 again another divine Pinot Noir I just had to buy it they don't have very many left so I'm saving for a special occasion. The tasting rooms are in the main building, just beautiful with light woods and etched windows and French doors that open on to the outdoor patio area with tables with umbrellas and surrounding the patio were bright colorful flowers and the outstretched vineyards in the backdrop looking just like a postcard of our gorgeous wine country. *A little History* One of California's first woman winemakers, Merry Edwards began her career in 1974 after graduating with a master's degree from UC Davis' winemaking program. She worked as winemaker for multiple brands, including Mount Eden and Matanzas Creek, and consulted for dozens of wineries before creating the Merry Edwards label in 1997. Merry Edwards was integral in putting Russian River Pinot Noir on the map over the next decade and completed construction of her own winery on the site of her Coopersmith Vineyard in 2008. She was among the first California winemakers to embrace the importance of clonal selection and firmly believed that site-specific, terroir-driven viticulture was the only way to achieve broad success. Merry had begun her quest to acquire complete control over the winemaking process in 1996, when she purchased land in the Sebastopol Hills of Russian River Valley that would become the winery's premier single-vineyard Pinot Noir bottling, Meredith Estate. Her decision to follow this path would prove to be prescient. When Merry decided to retire and sell the winery, among the suitors was Champagne Louis Roederer, since the 200-year-old company's winemaking philosophy mirrors that which Merry embraced her entire career. It was a match made in Heaven. Now a Certified California Sustainable Winery, the brand entered a new chapter after Merry's retirement in 2020. Merry's handpicked successor, Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden, and Winery President Nicole Carter have taken up exactly where Merry left off and will continue to make wines treasured by legions of Merry Edwards' fans well into the future. Love it Women power, getting it done to perfection. P.S. Special thanks to Sarah our server she was awesome she helped us celebrate my bestie birthday tasting aka party made it even better she was a delight. Cheers, if you love Pinot Noir this is your happy place. Cheers SYOY

Wine Tasting: 2015 Russian River Pinot Noir, 2015 Meredith Estate Pinot Noir, 2015 Flax Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2016 Sauvignon Blanc

After lunch, it was time to go wine tasting! One of the boys researched wineries in Sebastopol and found out Merry Edwards does free tastings. And you don't even need an appointment. My group of five stopped by on Thursday, February 22nd around 3:30pm. It's more like a presentation with a tasting, so there were two others who joined us. *2015 Russian River Pinot Noir ($48 bottle) *2015 Meredith Estate Pinot Noir ($66 bottle) *2015 Flax Vineyard Pinot Noir ($60 bottle) *2016 Sauvignon Blanc ($36 bottle) I'm more of a cab girl, so I found these really light. Also, I was hurting a bit from the night before, so it was really hard finishing any of the glasses. I actually just took a few sips of each and then poured out the rest. (Yes, I didn't finish one glass of tasting sized wine. So sad!) The guy running the tasting was knowledgeable and friendly. Very personable. In the end, one of the boys bought a bottle of the sauvignon blanc for his girlfriend. Good place for a low keep tasting. Especially if you like pinots. It does smell very much like cow sh!t outside, so make sure to take pix of the vineyard quickly. (It's probably just the fertilizer.) Overall, a nice stop with complimentary wine tastings.

This business does not care about it's customers and is so impossible to reach it's almost comical…read more I was a long-term customer of Fog Crest. In 2024 we received a shipment of wine where all the wine in the shipment was broken. In typical situations, wineries offer replacement of broken bottles, but Fog Crest was impossible to reach in spite of (literally) 50 phone calls and emails. Since I couldn't reach them, I canceled my subscription to their wine club. Flash forward a few months, they charge me another ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but never ship me any wine (in spite of the fact that I had already canceled online). Again, dozens of calls and emails, no answer and no response. Still trying. A few months after that, they charge me ANOTHER ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but don't ship that wine to me either. After probably 100 calls and emails, I finally talk to the wine club coordinator on the phone. She of course acknowledges my dozens of messages, and acknowledges my situation. She says she will replace the wine that was broken and figure out why they've been charging me for wine I haven't been receiving and make it right. But that she can't talk right now and she'd call me back with more information. That was a month ago. I've now called again dozens of times, and emailed. No response. Called and emailed the owner, no response. This is borderline criminal: $1,500 in charges for undelivered product, a non-existent customer service experience, and an online system so archaic that it doesn't process your cancelation and continues to charge you for product.

We joined their wine club in 2023 and was charged $420 all of 2024/25 for wine that they NEVER shipped. When I called to inquire about where the wine was, I was met with complete silence--multiple calls and messages went unanswered. After finally getting a call back, the person said they only called me back because "she saw we had called a lot in one day." That was the first red flag. She promised to credit my account and look into another charge that had been applied. It's been SEVEN days since that conversation, and STILL no credit, no updates, and no resolution. I've followed up with multiple calls, messages, and emails... NOTHING. At this point, it's clear that they don't care about their customers. I highly recommend staying far away from Fog Crest if you value your time and money. Total waste of both

Our host ended up forgetting us and started walking off with the other party when they finally showed up, and the guy we checked in with had to go tell him we were part of his group. I enjoyed the charcuterie box that comes with the tasting, albeit there was some moldy bits here and there. We got the harvest magnum experience ($90/person). They offer more affordable experiences as well. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with any of the wines. I did enjoy the seating experience, the charcuterie box, and the mini impromptu tour everyone was given of the production. The wine itself was underwhelming for the price and as nothing stood out to us, we finished our tasting and didn't grab anything to go. As we weren't wine club members here, the host didn't pay us much attention. Worth trying once, maybe, to see if their wines are to your liking.
