Party of 8 visited and we were the only ones there on a Friday afternoon until a couple of people came. The man helping us was nice and helpful when it came to pours. The wines were delicious and the tasting fee was very very affordable considering loads of wineries charge $40+ for just a tasting. It was $25 per person for tastings and they were waived if you bought 2 bottles. The bottles were also very reasonably priced. Will be going back if we're back in the area!

Excellent spot. Beautiful setting on top of a hill. Bob was excellent. We arrived right at opening and it was drizzling outside. He said I could bring my dog inside rather than sit on the patio. Normally, the patio would be beautiful-- great views. But thankfully, we stayed inside. The dog got a bowl of water and we had our tastings. They had two menus. One was pinot noir based and the other was white/red. I had the pinot noir tasting for $20 and it was excellent the bottled wine is very affordable and you can get the tasting price waived if you buy two bottles. The Pinots were $15-30 per bottle, which is a great price for the area. My mother had the white/red tasting and enjoyed it as well. Bob was excellent and kept us entertained during the tasting and gave us some food ideas since we needed lunch!

I absolutely loved Karah Estate Vineyards! The views were fantastic! They have a dog friendly outdoor patio with views of the bright vineyards on the hills. We were able to just walk in and they served us right away with the best spirit. The wines were really good as well! I'll definitely come back and visit! 10/10

Karah is on top of a hill and has gorgeous views. There is a large outdoor patio where you can sit under the vines or a few cozy indoor spots. Bob was behind the bar and very knowledgeable about the wines and the property. They have 3 tasting flights available. Bob recommended the red flight and we enjoyed all of the wines, even purchasing a few bottles which were very affordable. I sampled the whites and rosé but had to dump all of them so not the place to go if you prefer those, but all of their Pinots are delicious!

I am in love! This was a quaint little winery we just wanted to try as we just moved down the road. Ann was just fabulous in her knowledge, service and humor. The wine is exactly was I love; good Pinots all around. For sure 100% visiting this place again!

Nice close to home casual winery! This place is located between Petaluma and Cotati up in the hill.If you like Pinot noirs then check this place out , Super wines and prices are reasonable, if you buy two bottles they waive your tasting. Dog friendly outdoor seating This place is casual so if you want a high end tasting this may not be your place. But hands down great wines here and friendly service., I have driven buy here for years and glad I finally stopped in. I went home with a case!

Five stars for the view, the staff, and the deck + grassy area to sit and take in the beauty that surrounds! I was driving and responsible for our two small kids, so no real wine drinking for me but my husband enjoyed it and the staff was very friendly and very kind and inclusive of our kids, it's such a "little thing" but just saying "hey bud!" and "cool toy!" was really nice. I'm nonstop monitoring when we are out in public at restaurants/wineries to make sure our kids aren't disruptive so this really helped to ease my stress. They said they are known for their reds and I'm more of a white kind of gal so not sure if I'd go back, but if I were out there with friends who prefer red I'd definitely stop!

What a delightful experience! We stopped in on a Sunday and were the only ones there. Our wine guide was so much fun and informative and poured us over 8 or so wines. We loved a lot of the choices and ended up walking away with 3 bottles. We didn't get charged a tasting fee for buying some bottles, which was a lovely surprise. The grounds were gorgeous and they have a nice patio available. We highly recommend stopping in!

We recently picked up a pair of Priority Wine Passes and we decided to give Karah Estate a try. It was a great deal and close to our house. We called and made an appointment for the afternoon and were seated on a pleasant terrace when we arrived. Situated on a hillside in Cotati, the nice folks at Karah are working hard on making great Pinot Noir. The vibe is relaxed and the tasting is all done outdoors. We really enjoyed the offerings and purchased some very fairly priced Pinot to take with us. The Rose' and sparkling we also unique and quite tasty. It's great to have the area tasting rooms opening up again and we felt very safe here as everything was outdoors and well ventilated.

My adoring sidekick and I were invited to a private wine tasting and that experience poured straight into our memory like a perfectly decanted dream. Gary Brooks himself was there, the soft-spoken sorcerer behind Brooks Note Winery. His wines didn't whisper, they sang. Balanced. Elegant. Honest. The kind of Pinot that makes your boots buckle and your palate perk up like a hound on the trail. Somewhere between the third pour and the second "this is amazing," he told us we should stop by if we were ever in California. So, like any pair of polite Texans with a thirst for the finer things in life, we showed up. And let me tell you: the Brooks Note tasting room in Petaluma is a rustic-modern temple to the wine gods. The exposed beams, gleaming ductwork, and warm wood details make you want to cozy up and swirl your glass. It's the kind of place where your taste buds grow up and your Instagram feed gets a glow-up. We had reservations for a late afternoon tasting and were greeted by none other than Lucy, the softest, fluffiest winery pup in California. She strolled over like she owned the place, and honestly, I think she does. My adoring sidekick gave her the full greeting: head rub, affirming tone, instant friendship secured. Then came the Pinot Flight Tasting Menu, a five-part aria of California terroir: * 2022 Monroe Vineyard: Fruit-forward with a hint of the forest floor, like autumn bottled and ready to dance. * 2023 Russian River Valley: Silky as a tuxedoed lounge singer. Red fruit, spice, and grace. * 2022 Weir Vineyard: Earthy, old-soul depth. The kind of wine that feels like it remembers the first time someone planted vines in California. * 2023 Petaluma Gap: Cool, coastal, and fresh like ocean wind meeting orchard breeze. * 2022 Panther Ridge: Lush, structured, with a finish so long it could anchor a ballad. We were mid-way through the second glass when Gary appeared like a magician stepping onstage after the opening act. He welcomed us, remembered Fort Worth, and then proceeded to give us the full behind-the-scenes tour: the tasting room, the barrel room stacked high with rich oak dreams (no clue what kind of wood, but it smelled like wine-soaked heaven), and the metal vats where fermentation magic bubbles into being. It's one thing to drink a wine. It's another to see its origin story. We eventually made our way back to the table, finished our tasting, then slipped into that late afternoon golden glow. Before leaving, my wife said her goodbyes to Lucy with the kind of fondness usually reserved for lifelong friends or the last bite of a perfect dessert. We didn't take any bottles with us because we already had some back home in Texas. As we stepped outside into the California sun, I said, "Their wine bottles don't gather dust, they disappear gracefully after dinner." My wife rolled her eyes and muttered, "You're aging like wine, all right. Getting drier by the year." She's not wrong. Final thought? This is the kind of tasting that doesn't end when you leave the building. It lingers in your memory like a perfectly aged vintage. TL;DR: Petaluma charm meets Pinot perfection. Balanced, elegant wines served in a spacious, welcoming room. Lucy the wine pup deserves her own label. Gary Brooks delivers not only extraordinary wine, but an unforgettable experience. The only thing smoother than the Pinot is my wife's way of saying, "That's enough, dear." Brooks Note isn't a stop, it's a chapter worth savoring. Bonus Dad Joke: What did the grape say when it got stepped on? Nothing. It just let out a little wine... but probably not as gracefully as a Brooks Note Pinot.

I had loose plans to visit Sonoma Aperitif on a weekend a few months back, but was not committed due to other plans. Well I had some spare time and figured I'd try to stop by and see if I could do a walk in tasting/sample. Laura who is the owner graciously accepted us into her old style barn converted into a tasting room. It really displays the Petaluma hospitality as well as the true country vibe of the aesthetics inside. For those a tad confused about Aperitifs, it is not your normal cocktail you will throw back or glass of wine/beer. They are typically served before or after (Sometimes depending on the country/region) to cleanse the palette. This is not to say you cannot make cocktails with it, but typically from what I have been told it is an after or before meal "sipper". Back to the tasting, Laura had a few that she was pouring today ranging from Lime/Citrus to Buddhas hand and Grapefruit. All had their very own distinction from each other. The real jewel of the tasting was the fact that Laura was pairing everything with very simple ingredients to make delicious cocktails! To give an example a aperitif splash with a rosemary shrub gave the aperitif a whole different level of complexity. The tasting itself was very affordable, and at the time included a wine tasting at the same bar by another company (No longer being offered though). Flavors may change throughout the year due to the seasons of various fruits though, so what one may see on one visit, may be gone the next depending on inventory, so keep that in mind if you really like any of the aperitifs. I could easily recommend this to someone who is looking for an alternative to Wine and Beer tastings.

Laura, the creative mistress and owner was highly informative and had so much passion with her creations. Her previous career led her to this wonderful libation. The public gets to reap the rewards. This tasting bar shares the barn themed building. We came in to taste her aperitif creations and ciders from a very new up and coming cidery, "Acre and Spade" (see my Yelp review) After our cider tastimg, she placed 3 different tall slim bottles of aperitifs and poured each one in a very tiny martini stemmed glass, along with a ceramic bucket to pour any extra aperitif. As she poured each aperitif one flavor at a time, she offered the flavor profile. It's great with a bit of ice, which is extra perfect on hot days. She then made a cocktail using a lemon flavored "shrub *" and one of the aperitif (sorry I forgot which one). It was delish. I felt so "classy" lol. She added a sprig of fresh rosemary, so as your sipping, your nose picks up the Rosemary aroma. We offered our opinion for each aperitif and she listened intently as we slowly tasted each one. Their was no wrong answer as each flavor description is subjective to our own taste buds. This visit was eye opening, informative and very enjoyable. Our group ended up purchasing a pack of cider and few bottles of aperitif. She mentioned she had a few strawberry aperitif which we were lucky to enjoy. These aperitifs will be part of holiday dinners or any festive group gatherings. But equally fantastic for summer parties or warm/hot weather. * "The term "shrub" can also be applied to the sweetened vinegar-based syrup, from which the cocktail is made; the syrup is also known as drinking vinegar. Drinking vinegar is often infused with fruit juice, herbs and spices for use in mixed drinks."
