The course was very interesting, with lots of great information and some other important things that usually people are worried about - like "when is it ok to shoot to the back". I surely found lots of needed laws for Florida state. Our instructor Chris was very knowledgeable, fun and was able to answer on all of our questions. Because of covid the actual class was done via zoom and the competency portion was done in person at the facility. At first I was very skeptical because the class was going to be done via zoom. I thought I wouldn't be taught as effectively as I would had it been in person but I was very wrong. He called on us multiple times to ask us questions, role play certain scenarios, and even interact in the chat. The portion in person was very simple too, you simply show competency with a firearm and he explains a little more and gives you in the end your certificate. A lot of police departments aren't offering fingerprints right now due to COVID-19 but he has BOS coming to his facility twice a week to do fingerprints for $50, which I went ahead and did. This facility also offers multiple courses for firearm safety and training which I do look forward to taking sometime soon. Overall I truly recommend this place if you're looking to getting your concealed weapons license or if you want further firearm training. Chris is definitely doing amazing things here!

It's located inside a martial arts gym. The class took three hours. When you walk in, you sign and waiver and give him your license. After that, you go into a separate room with a projector on. He goes over the components of a gun, how to hold it, and where to point it (and not to point it). He also goes over some of the laws. Towards the end of the class, he took half of the class upstairs. There were 12 of us on a Saturday. That's where the real fun begins. You have to put on ear muffs and safety glasses; this is where you're able to pull a trigger of a 9mm into a canister. That's the first time I've ever pulled a trigger and it was fun. It's loud of course and you could feel the air coming out of the gun. Super powerful! I think people should be able to defend themselves if need be; especially a female who's walking to her car alone at night! This place is pretty cool, you can get your gun safety permit and learn martial arts. After class, we got our official certificates. There was another guy that came in and was selling gun owner's insurance; purchasing it is optional. Check this place out, you won't regret it.

This is a staple of theirs as I remember doing that as a child when it was called Parrot Jungle. However, the place seems to be falling apart and it was evident with red decorations falling off at the entrance. This is something that can easily be fixed. The children's play area is nice and pretty big. The treehouse, trampoline and the Beyhive were unique. The treehouse playground though needs a little bit more of an upkeep as part of the ground is lifting and things are falling apart. Seeing the animals was great. I fed a goat and enjoyed doing that but again some of those animals enclosures need more of an upkeep. The animal show at 11:30 AM is a little outdated. I would recommend changing it to make it more entertaining. Overall, if you come, don't have much expectations. It's a nice thing to do after you have done everything else in Miami.

Third and finally, visiting it for said special event, Luminosa, was ABSOLUTELY wondrous. Made the visit absolutely worth it (even if my bus almost missed the stop). Plus, the staff is so kind and accommodating. We as a society need to invest and support spaces and places like this that not only offer incredible experiences, but also give back to all its visitors and urban spaces they inhabit - even if they're on a small, missable island (jajaja).
