Fabulous academy! Instructor Andy is very knowledgeable and his method of instruction is methodical, clear, calm, and approachable. I am a 30 year police officer and firearms instructor and I left his MP5 Operator Course excited about my new found knowledge and skills. I highly recommend any course at TFI! I'm a repeat student of Tactical Firearms Academy and cannot thank Andy, Sean and Frankie enough for all their knowledge in helping me become a better shooter. The classes are for all level shooters and you will leave their feeling a more confident shooter. I have taken numerous classes at TFA and all are top notch and plan on taking more. Keep up the good work I'll be back ! Tom Sheridan read more

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Andy's company for periodic firearms qualification. Andy has a temper, uses profanity, and treats seasoned retirees as if they are rookie officers, particularly males and ethnic minorities. While the service he provides is convenient and relatively cheap in price, I prefer paying more to avoid returning there. If you can bear dealing with gruff disrespect and condescension, give him a try. But if respect, professional courtesy and dignity befitting a retired officer/agent are important to you, select another venue for your annual requalifications. If at some point, Andy no longer conducts the requalifications, I might consider returning. But until then, it is a hard NO. read more

Top notch training. I have been working with them for 5 years. I do my yearly HR 218 qualifications. They also provide me with any additional training that is necessary. They also give me any firearms training that is required for the State of Florida security program read more

Andy is the epitome of professionalism and safety. Not only is he a master of his trade, he is also a devout teacher that focuses on passing along his knowledge for a better and safer use of anything firearms related. You can go to any range to shoot, and you may even manage to learn something, but if you truly aim at gaining profound comprehension of this field, Andy and his team will cater to your needs, wants and goals. They are by far the best! Excited about my learning experience, which I know, has barely started. read more

I first contacted Andy to book a concealed weapon class. After speaking with him on the phone, Andy diagnosed our knowledge and recommended we take the basic firearms training. We were a group of 4, made up of 2 people with previous experience in firearms and 2 novices. Andy was amazing, he was so thorough and treated all of us the same! He assessed everyone's knowledge and comfort and answered all the questions we had with details, examples and always explained the why's. I had never owned a gun or fire one. I learned how to load, unload, clear 4 different types of malfunctions, but most importantly I learned so much about my gun. I didn't know what to expect during the classroom training, Andy made the 3 hours fly by. In the shooting range, Andy was there with us the entire time. He helped us be confident with our performance and corrected us when it was needed. We are definitely going to go back to visit Andy for additional range training. If you are a new gun owner, do yourself a favor and hire Andy. Thank you Andy for your patience and knowledge sharing. I definitely feel like a much more responsible gun owner and handler. read more

Tactical Firearms Academy - Andy hands on range instruction. - Firearm Training Near Me - Pompano Beach, Florida

Completed and loved Tactical Pistol 1 training. I recommend this class to anyone who has not received professional instruction how to handle a firearm. The instructors were hands-on with each student, providing precise guidance how to improve our technique for each lesson. The class was enjoyable and professional. My proficiency at hitting the bullseye or my desired target is now a common and intended result, instead of a random surprise. I'm going back for additional training after I spend a month or so practicing what I was taught. I now know the correct standard operating procedures to handle my firearm. Thank you, Andy. Looking forward to your Speed & Accuracy class. read more

Three of us varying from novice to experienced booked a mid-week private Pistol 1 course and I could not not have been happier. Went in looking for a safe introduction to the use of a firearm for the purpose of self defence and that is exactly what we got. Andy was knowledgeable, clear and tough but approacheable and he encouraged questions. Tough was important to me as he ensured we were all handling the handguns safely. The session was focussed and a lot of structured information was given. This is not a "fun" taster session; be prepared to absorb a lot of practical information and be tested on it. I came away with a good set of skills that I know how to practice on my own to perfect before enrolling for the Pistol 2! read more

I took the Rifle 1 training by another instructorn and the class was too big. We only zeroed our rifles but didnt much else. Today, I completed a Rifle 1 training with Andy and learned alot. My confidence with Rifle is starting to go increase and today i became more proficient with the AR. Highly recommend TFA to anyone whether you are just starting, need a refresher or fresh point of view from an experienced instructor. Thanksnto Andy and Franky. read more

Extremely happy with my experience with TFA. Took Pistol 1 class with Andy, Dave and Shawn and expectations were exceeded. I'm prior military with pistol training, but was looking for a refresher, as that training was over 20 years ago. They ran a very safe operation and the expertise and knowledge on all topics was very evident from all instructors. The information was presented in a very effective and efficient manner and they were able to teach to every age and skill level present, which is rare and valuable. Would highly recommend for new shooters and those looking for a refresher course as well. Already signed up for Pistol 2 class and other training sessions too. Can't wait! read more

completed Andy Tactical Firearms Pistol 1 course on Dec 29,2018. I've been a full-time freediving instructor since 2005. I am rarely impressed by instructors. When I encounter an instructor my assumption is they will be very good at what they do, but not very good at the actual instruction part. Andy is an excellent instructor. It is obvious that safety is parament. He had nine people shooting firearms without metal dividers between everyone like you would see on a range. This requires an orderly and safely process. He delivered a ton of information that could have easily been too much to absorb except for the way it was presented. Most instructors tell people what do and they don't do a good job explaining why they need to do it that way. Andy fully explained why he was having us do everything we did. As a novice, I asked a lot of questions and every one was answered. We went through all the drills and information without even firing the pistol and then once we had a good understanding of what would be asked of us we then proceded to do it again but this time while firing. I can say I fully understand why he had us do everything he asked of us. I can't say I can properly execute everything he taught us today, but I know I will be able to in the future as I know and understand what I need to work on. I am a novice shooter. First-time pistol owner. I went to this course wanting to learn how to shoot more accurately so that my range time could be more productive. Before this course when I went to the range, I had hit a wall. I was shooting the same as I always would, and making the same mistakes. I was tired of trying to self diagnose via youtube videos. Andy quickly and easily explained why I was making the mistakes I was making. When I would do what he asked me I would shoot much better. Now I have to integrate what I learned so that it is automatic which it is not now. Surprisingly my favorite part of the course was a better understanding of the pistol: the types of failures, failure to fire, failure to eject, failure to extract. Andy explained how to handle every kind of failure. I was super excited to see that as a TFA graduate there are monthly members-only shooting events. I can't wait to attend my first steel challenge in coming weeks. This is an intense and challenging course. I appreciate that if Andy ever told us something to do or more often something to not do, he would enforce that throughout the course. I was terrible at operating the slide on my pistol; I often change hands to get the slide to work correctly. Every single time I did this Andy or one of the instructors would tell me, "Ted stop switching hands." They know what you need to do and are not going to say well I'll just let that one slide I don't want to him get upset because I keep correcting him on that issue. If people are not following the instructions, someone could get injured during the course, and I was incredibly impressed how Andy and his two assistants managed nine people shooting firearms without barriers between everyone like at the range. Andy is an excellent instructor. He has 143 5 star reviews. Read them and then book your class with Tactical Fire Arms Academy. read more

I have been a gun owner for 20 years and more recently a conceal carrier. Not an expert marksman by any means. Only shooting at paper targets throughout the years. But since I decided to carry, I wanted to feel confident with my weapon. Let me say I got my moneys worth! I definitely learned new skills I didn't know before. Andy is intense in his training. They are not trying to teach you how to play tennis. There were 3 total instructors for 11 of us, ensuring that there was more personal attention. They did a great job teaching us the fundamentals and how to apply it. There were some students that needed extra help and I noticed they spent extra time in helping them throughout the day. At the end of the day everyone passed! So I know they did their job. Thanks to Andy, Terry, and Sean! Had so much fun and can't wait for the next course. Do bring sun screen as we were baking in the sun a bit. Plenty of drinks needed. They do have a water/soda machine there but bring your own just in case. I brought 3 water bottles and I was off by 2. Do bring a good lunch. I do recommend that you practice at the range at least a couple times with someone who is knowledgeable if you are thinking of taking this class. Not that you can't if you are brand new but it always helps so you are not too nervous...IMO read more

Attending this training as a fairly new gun user left me blown away by Andy's teaching methods and training. He was extremely knowledgeable and immediately eased my nerves as we went over a variety of information that helped with my true understanding of using and shooting a weapon. His displayed a great deal of professionalism and was so patient in helping me get " comfortable" with using a firearm. He listened to every one of my concerns and was able to pinpoint exactly what my individual needs were and what I needed to do be successful at the end of this class. Well worth the money and I will forever be grateful for the new found confidence I have. The things I learned today in his private class will forever be part of my continued growth and development and truly believe has changed me and my perspective about shooting. Great lesson, great teacher and a necessity I believe for anyone interested in learning more about anything gun related. Definitely would recommend this class. read more

Never in a million years did I think that I would (1) shoot a gun, and (2) enjoy it. But under the excellent tutelage of the guys at TFA, I can now say I'm comfortable handling and shooting a pistol. I signed up for the Tactical Pistols 1 class offered by the TFA guys, in a special Sunday class organized by a friend of mine. He'd organized a CCW class with TFA back in May, but I wasn't able to attend that one for one reason or another. But based on everyone's raves about that class and TFA in general, I knew I'd be in good hands. Andy and John are the guys behind TFA, and they will do their damnedest to make sure you get every cent of your money's worth if you take a class with them. Our class was about 9 hours of instruction - half safety rules and dry drills (with dummy bullets), and half shooting drills on the range. Andy, John, and their support staff made sure to pay individual attention to all 15 students in the class, taking extra time to help out with those who needed that extra care. And when a few students didn't pass the "exam" at the end of the course, they were more than happy to set up the targets for a second go-round. Lucky for me, thanks to their excellent instruction (and probably more than a little beginner's luck), I passed on the first try! While they do quite a bit of classes and training locally, our class was out at their range in Clewiston, meaning on top of a 9-hour class, we had an hour and a half in the car each way. Despite the length of the day, I can honestly say that TFA's Tactical Pistols 1 class was never dull or boring. Just be sure to follow their instructions if you're told to bring lunch with you - we were a long way from civilization! Whether you're looking to become comfortable around guns, want to get your CCW permit, or are just looking to become a sharper shooter, you can't go wrong with class from TFA! read more

I participated in the 2014 MP5 Operators course this past Saturday 8/30/2014.. What a great course!! The class covered everything from proper mechanics to trigger control on the select fire MP5 as well a different shooting positions. the drills that were put together for this course were great and really gave you a first hand look at the handling skill that were tought in the class. Dave Sanders and Andy Blaschik are fantastic instructors and I am sure to be taking more classes in the near future. This is one exhausting 9hr course and worth every penny! This academy is literally as good as it gets. The instructors work very hard at keeping their students up to date with the most advanced tactics in the world of firearms and salf defense. I have taken several of their classes and have yet to be disappointed. I have been to other larger academies and none of them have compared with the training I have received from the instructors at TFA. They are a compny who actually cares about every one of their students and love what they do. Oh yeah, and a huge bonus--they have a 1000 yard training facility. Amazing!! read more

Over the weekend, I completed the Tactical Pistol 1 Course at the Tactical Firearms Academy. Great, great Course! Having a Concealed Weapon License for a long time, I've always been concerned about how I would handle myself during an incident with the use of a firearm. This course was perfect and help provide that confidence. The instructors, Andy Baschik and his staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and they made the course interesting. I recommend this course to anyone with a Concealed Weapon License. The knowledge provided in this course can help save lives, and even help avoid unnecessary liability. I am so happy I found the Tactical Firearms Academy. Paul A. (Miami, FL) read more

I had never fired a gun in my life but wanted to purchase one for home security. Still, i was little anxious about having one in the house with my family. A friend suggested I go see Andy at TFA to learn about safety and how to actually shoot. It was the best decision I could have made. He is meticulous and thorough. He meets you at your level of understanding and tailors the class appropriately. I ended up taking both the Concealed Weapons class as well as the First Steps into Firearms course. I feel much more comfortable with owning, storing, and shooting a pistol and plan on returning soon for more courses. read more

Adding the same review I wrote on Google for TFA: I just attended the Tactical Pistol I all-day class with Andy, and I could not be happier with the results. He's a fantastic and very experienced instructor who really stresses the importance of key concepts such as proper weapon education, weapon handling, situational awareness, training, and so much more. Him and his assistant instructors break down concepts for you and analyze what it is that you're doing wrong in the moment so that you can correct these errors and improve. At the end of the day, remember that owning a firearm is one of the most responsible things any person can do, and without the proper training (or with bad weapon handling habits and education), you could end up doing more harm than good to yourself and others around you. In short, I highly recommend this course (and there are others available) to anyone in the South Florida area. Andy and his team are known for being solid at what they do. read more

I have been shooting for over 40 years. Several years ago I decided to get my concealed weapons license and I contacted Andy at TACTICAL FIREARMS ACADEMY. I ended up sponsoring a class for my entire office including their family and friends. Andy did the concealed weapons class at OUR OFFICE with over 50 people. I think that most of the people that took the class went on to get their Conceal Weapons License. I took a couple of private lessons from Andy to "Clean Up" some bad habits that I had acquired through the years. I was SO impressed with how my shooting improved after the first lesson that I signed up for TFAs (Tactical Firearms Academy) Tach I class. I have now taken at least 4 of their classes and will be taking more. Andy can teach privates at any of the local Gun Ranges, I personally prefer Nxus on Davie Rd just S of I-595. He can do his Tactical Training Classes at Trail Glades Range in Miami or their own range in Clewiston. I cannot say enough good things about Andy and Tactical Firearms Academy. If you're looking to purchase a firearm, Andy can put you in the right direction. read more

My wife and I took the "First Steps Into Firearms" course at TFA. We had no previous experience with guns before the class and Andy Blaschik was a highly experienced, knowledgable, patient instructor. Although we were beginners, he never spoke down to us and always took the time to answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend "First Steps" for beginners and TFA for much more advanced training as well. read more

Back in March 2015 I spent 4 days in Chesapeake Bay Virginia at "Extreme Seal Experience". I took a shooting course that was taught by retired (33 years) Master Chief Hershel Davis and retired (8+years) Petty Officer Ray "Cash" Care, both retired Navy SEALs. Had an incredible time there. What they taught us was no different what so ever then what I was taught from Andy at TFA.
