I recently visited Revere Gun Range with my 14-year-old son, and while the range has been around in Pompano Beach for years and the lanes were WIDE and we both had a great time. The staff, Mike and Mattaio, were friendly and knowledgeable, and went out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable and safe throughout our visit. They offered a great selection of rental and to purchase firearms to choose from. The manual target crank reminded me of when I was a teen shooting for the first time. What really stood out to me was the level of customer service we received from Mattaio and Mike. They took the time to answer all of our questions and provide guidance on selecting the right firearms for our needs. I went to this place for the first time last night. It's not fancy or super high tech but they made me (a woman with limited shooting experience) feel welcomed and comfortable. Ed and Adrian (or Andre? Sorry- I can't remember!) were so helpful and informative. They spent a good amount of time walking me through correct shooting form and fundamentals of shooting. The guidance and instruction alone was worth the price of admission. My shooting improved substantially after a brief demonstration by Ed (former military dude turned gun-range eye candy). Anyway, everyone here goes above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere - oh and safety is paramount here. They're very on top of safety protocols. Cost: this place was cheaper compared to similar ranges I've been to. We got a 2 for 1 special on a Friday night. I think they run specials nearly every weeknight. I'll definitely come back here. Great range close to home. Not state of the art , but good enough for shooting practice and equipment. Adrian from the front desk was extremely helpful and funny. Went with 8 of my friends and were accommodated quickly with friendly service and were given 4 lanes to shoot so we could all train together. The staff was very helpful knowledgeable and courteous. It was quite refreshing to encounter great customer service especially in a gun shop/range. Great range prices and gun prices especially jn today's market. If you're looking for a fancy shmancy indoor firing range, this probably isn't the place for you. Quite frankly, I like place. I'm able to go in, get in a lane, with no one hovering or gawking over my shoulder. It was our first time at Revere, the gentleman at the front was short, sweet, and to the point, and briefly showed us what we needed to know and where to go. Pretty good price compared to a lot of other places. Reviews that mentioned shell casings all over the floor, yes, that was true when we went there last, but honestly, there was a broom and dust pan behind me and I just cleaned up around our lane when we finished (we were the only ones there at that time last weekend)... it took about 10 seconds... Bottom line, I'd recommend this place. read more

Stepping in this place is like going back in time. The showroom looks like an old pawn shop and there is a cat in the shop and cat piss on the counters. The range: No ventilation Buckets and buckets of Shell casings Randomness that should not be inside the range Pulley system and broken lines Leaking roof Your lungs will be affected once you leave due to the lack of ventilation and thousands upon thousands of shell casings. Staff: Very friendly older woman and slack-jawed yokel older gentleman. Plus the cat that pisses everywhere. Attention any angel investors. I'm sure you can come in and bring this place into the 21st-century. You are not getting stuffed bears and deer, you are not getting 14 sales ppl hovering and gawking, you aren't getting ridiculous contracts to sign and little cards that mean nothing. You are getting an indoor range to shoot your gun in and a sink to wash your hands with after. That's all anyone needs. At first I thought "oh hell no". But by the end of my hour I knew I'd be back. What dive bars are to the world of bar rooms Revere is to the world of gun ranges. Cheap, poorly ventilated, somewhat dank, out of the way, back street, poorly lighted, messy, hole in the wall, sordid and seriously out dated. I've been to a number of gun ranges in and around the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area and, generally compared to others I've visited elsewhere, none of them seem to be very good. However, that may only because of me, the way I shot and my purposes in going to a gun range. That is since I generally go fire my favorite first generation Colt Single Action Army, shoot for group patterns and use bulls eye, not silhouette targets. I don't think I'm a snob or stuffed shirt about things; it's just that my shooting intent is for sport and sport hunting as opposed to rapid fire or that of being defense oriented although either of those may also qualify as a sport. However, I have to say I do have a lot of fun stacking the results from my hundred years old plus revolver against the likes of the modern day Glocks as well as the looks on the faces of those few who recognize exactly what gun it is that I am firing. At least when I go to Revere, and this is the good point, there isn't any question about me bringing and using my own ammunition unlike others that insist upon you purchasing and only use ammunition from them at what seem to me to be rather inflated prices. read more

Great place to hop on in and blast handguns in 5 minutes from walking in. Owner just upgraded the lights, ventilation system, painted, but it's still an old school gun range which is cool. Ask to work on drawing from concealed and Chuck will put you on the far right lane. I've never had to wait always a lane open. Cheapest place to shoot hands down no time limit. Depending on the day I have seen shells on the ground from people not cleaning up after themselves but if you have a problem taking 30 seconds to possibly have to sweep them up, this is definitely not your range I would go to Boca where you can pay more for someone to babysit you. read more

I will agree with the other posts - this place is a hole in a wall. Not much going for ventilation, needs to be spruced up, hand cranks ....However, I think it is one of the better ranges in the area - The owner Eileen, is really nice and knows customer satisfaction matters - You can bring your own ammo (has to pass a magnet test though) - The people staffing the store aren't arrogant asshats - Range fee is $11.15 per hour including taxes - They don't sneer when they see you bring your own targets and ammo - Its never been crowded the times I went. - Hand cranking your targets is kinda primitive, but I much prefer it over the overly advanced ones at National Armory I would have reservations on taking the girlfriend/wife here. However, it has going for it that it is owned by a woman who is also the firearms instructor. To sum up: This place is a dive, but it has friendly staff and is a good value. read more

Shop is whole in the wall... range seemed decent for early Saturday... I could see it becoming a sweat box in summer. They let you bring your own ammo - and I paid for it this time... Range was $10.25 Gun Rental was $7 - a small assortment, mostly rugers. 2 Targets, $1.50 or so... 2 boxes 9mm, $22 each (for Blazer no less....) I had my own eyes and ears. read more

Don't expect much. Place needs a complete renovation- and probably new management. Otherwise, they could be sitting on a gold mine. They are the closest range to Palm Beach County where you can bring your own ammo- Palm Beach County ranges make you buy and shoot theirs- a big bummer. Hot in the lanes- my lenses constantly fogged. Not well ventilated, no sand bags or chairs, no power on the target retrievers- just simple hand cranks. It's just a simple dirty place to shoot. Bring your girlfriend to learn elsewhere. read more

I just went back to Revere for the first time in about 15 years. I put aside shooting due to a busy schedule, so I stopped going to Revere. But I had to get my daughter out to try her new gun, so I naturally drove to Revere. And guess what? It looks about the same. Same lanes. Same hand cranks. Same counters with used guns for sale. Nice, courteous, people staffing the range. A few cats and birds that must be new, but otherwise.....no change. Can you believe that? No change at all! Unlike the rest of So. Fla. which, IMHO, has been going downhill since 1970. Morale of the story.......please continue to go to all your fancier ranges. I would hate to scratch your BMW when parking my F250 :) Or insult your integrity while firing my Hi-Point carbine next to your Colt. Us locals will continue to enjoy our "hole in the wall". FYI......my daughter said it was 'much nicer" than one she visited in Ft. Lauderdale, not sure where she was referring to. :) read more

This place has been described as a dump. Well it is if your looking for the convinces of a modern range. You want a place to for the most part be left alone to shoot your guns they way they were made to be used. This is the place for you. It is for me. Yes its hot sweaty and poorly ventilated. But its run by folks who know you want to use a defensive gun the way its made to be used. Not for always for target shooting. I thoroughly enjoy my time spent there. Testing different ammo types and firing my guns the way Id have to if ever called upon. It a 5 star joint for me. A 3 if your bringing a new shooter. Then again its still a 5. Who needs conveniences, when your shooting a gun as your life may depend on it. Try that at most ranges and the range officer is breathing down your back. read more

I was there this morning with my wife at 10:30am on 3/29/12. Bottom line, if you need an economical place to shoot with friendly staff this is it. If your a snob, you wont like it. My opinion there should be more like this and than more regular people would have an opportunity to shoot and than you have less accidents. read more

Eileen is a wonderful lady ,... and all her staff are easy going , accommodating , friendly ... Every where else.... all places i´ve been in : West Palm , Broward, Miami Dade ...people who work in these places treat you as if you were at the '''' DMV ''' .... like they are doing us a favor. sure.. the place is not well ventilated; not the prettiest ; but, the price is really accessible to anyone who enjoys firing a weapon,, as long as you are safe... no one will bother you. so, here it goes... as i stayed it at the beginning... what is important to you...? ...to me is customer service and a friendly atmosphere.... that is why ...revere gun range is simply the best range in the tri state area. read more

This place is a dump. It's also really inexpensive. The range doesn't seem to be properly ventilated so it gets really hot and dusty.

I love this range!! It's outlasted all of the other gun ranges in this area in the past 10 years that I have been going, and that says something for the management. I refuse to go out of my way to shoot at ranges managed by people with attitudes, who treat you like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to shoot there. I can't think of any range within 50 miles of this one where it is a pleasure to walk in to a friendly staff. They also are one of the few who don't insist that you shoot their ammo--only if you rent one of their guns, which is standard range policy everywhere. If you enjoy shooting without a hassle, you will like Revere! I shoot at least once a week there, and look forward to returning. There are newer, fancier ranges within 25 miles or so, but the atmosphere is why I return! read more
