The service and professionalism at AHW are second to none. Every interaction has been exceptional, from purchasing new firearms and equipment to inspections, cleaning and modifications. Their staff is knowledgeable, experience and always willing to provide the support and assistance you need. What I appreciate most is that I can receive personalized service and competitive pricing without having to shop at a large outlet store. AHW consistently delivers quality work, timely service, and complete confidence in everything they do. I cannot recommend them highly enough. For firearms and accessories and modifications AHW is my first choice every time. read more

My friend purchased bullets here yesterday at a good price with a good experience so I came today to check it out. Almost drove past it since no sign on the building except for a picture of an assault rifle on the glass door that alerted me to its presence. The small plaza is now blocked by a giant storage building just off STRD 84 in Malaleuca Isles. Small showroom with assault rifles, handguns, ammo and shooting accessories. The owner was quick to greet me and briefly chatted about repairs to one of my firearms. read more

Rafael and Miles are hands-down the best in the business. It's rare to find a team that is this welcoming while remaining incredibly technical and knowledgeable about their craft. They are my go-to for everything because their work is consistently perfect. Even though I understand high-quality gunsmithing takes time, their turnaround is usually surprisingly fast. To get this level of expert, professional service at such a reasonable price is unheard of. Rafael and Miles never disappoint--If you want perfect work and a fair price, see Rafael and Miles. They treat you like family the moment you walk in. wouldn't trust my firearms with anyone else! read more

Quality and attentive service by this family owned shop. If want to support a good local business then look no further. May pay a little more but it's worth all the extra attention and service. read more

I came across AHW via google search and I am so glad I made the visit. Rafael was very friendly, professional, detailed and overall a great source of information, he took the time to educate my person and I didn't have to look any further. I did pay a bit more than with other stores but we have to support our local businesses and I did not mine, the education and time allotted me was well worth it, Thank You Rafael you got yourself a new loyal client! read more

Rafael did an awesome job on my MPX K and suppressor. Would definitely recommend this establishment. read more

Transferee beware they raised their transfer fees to 40.00 dollars. Check local gun stores in the area some are 15.00 to 25.00 for transfer including background. Nice people but the transfer fee wasn't listed at the website where I ordered the gun from or on their website. Great small business owners tho if you can afford it pay it and help the business stay in the area. read more

I saw the great reviews and figured that AHW was worth the try. While I was in the store, I witnessed every customer receive the highest quality of customer service and attention which isn't so common in other places these days. Kudos to the AHW team! read more

$40 for transfer is peanuts. It's a reasonable price for the service they provide. A business cannot give away their services and expect to stay in business long. If $40 is unreasonable for you... simply go somewhere else. read more

Really experienced and friendly folks who run this business. He is my go to FFL for buying and selling my pistols. Can handle the transfers and background checks and will do a function check on a gun you bring in. Ray B. USMC Ret. read more

Just back from the AHW after driving up to Plantation from Miami (30miles). I needed to have the extractor on my 1918 Mauser (Tankgewehr/T-Gewehr) majorly adjusted and was following up on a recommendation I took the Mauser to AHW for repair to ejector. After the initial shock of seeing the 42lb Mauser, Rafael said he will have it done in a week. As promised, with excellent customer service, the T-Gewehr is now functioning 100% and range ready. I have a few more antiques needing some work and will be heading back to AHW often. Thanks Rafael and AHW!! Randy read more

This family run gun shop is phenomenal. Rafeal & Myles built a custom AR with 3 toned colored paint job. The build came out amazing but what really impressed me was their honesty. They called me and asked for me to come in and see the 3 color camo scheme that I picked. Two of the colors were overbearing towards the other. I came in and they were right. They made a couple of suggestions to help the 3 colors compliment the camo scheme. I can't tell you how much I respect their willingness to make sure I was aware of something they were building for me and that I would be happy with it. Myles is a true artist and the paint job came out amazing!!! I will only be going to this shop for all my firearm needs. -Charles read more

They helped me with my first gun purchase. Very knowledgeable and patient will all my questions and guided me to what best fits my needs for home protection. I've also ordered additional equipment from their site like I did with my firearm and they make the process very easy. There are plenty of bigger stores around that have a larger selection on hand but if you are new like me; you'll feel lost and rushed to select so they can assist the next person. The owners of the AHW store will treat you well and you'll leave satisfied that you made the right decision. read more

I came here with a pistol that I needed to have the optics plate removed and a red dot installed and Rafael was nothing but professional. He told me up front what the cost would be. I dropped the pistol off on a Saturday and I received a phone call by Tuesday morning that my pistol was ready. I was really happy with the work and I will be definitely coming back here if I need some work done on my guns. read more

We saw their brand new big sign on the side of the building and thought to check them out. Sooooooo happy we did. Talk about personal service. Rafael and Myles are so knowledgeable friendly and down right helpful. Rafael is a Gun Smith and was able to get our 30 year old revolver working again and at a reasonable rate. We signed up for their Concealed Weapons Class and that is where we met Janice the third piece of this great team. Coming from a teaching background she was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and kept us engaged. Afterwards we went to the range where she made sure we knew what we were doing, never in a rush taking the time to answer our questions. Loved it!!! Supporting the local business is were it's at and these guys didn't disappoint. So happy we saw the big sign. You have to check out the weapons that are built on premises...AWESOME!!! We are a fan!!! read more

I found this shop on Yelp and it compares with the other five star reviews. Highly recommend. The shop is friendly and Rafael is very knowledgeable. I had a firearm repaired and the service was great. The price is fair. Emailed the invoice. They contacted me when ready. Plenty of parking. My husband had a gun that needed repair, so we brought it here. He was so impressed with the knowledge and professionalism that he ended up getting a custom built AR. I took they're conceal/carry class as well and it was very informative. Strangely, I'm not a person who writes reviews, however, I will read reviews for just about everything possible. I recently won a raffle held by American Handheld Weaponry, to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. The prize was a Taurus Millennium G2, and unexpectedly a range bag with an assortment of accessories and ammo. Totally excited and I say that because I'm not one to ever have this type of luck. Upon visiting American Handheld Weaponry, I was totally impressed by the arrangement and variety of weapons in inventory. If you're into concealment and personal defense, you must pay them a visit. I will be returning with the wife to choose a suitable personal defense weapon as well as signing her up for a concealed weapons course. read more

I stopped in for the first time this afternoon. Rafael said he'd look at my Walther with a malfunctioning mag release button. I left the gun with him and drove back home. Got home and didn't even have time to make lunch, when he called to say that he had fixed it. It couldn't have taken more than an hour, and at a great price. I look forward to my next trip to AHW! read more

I can't express how relieved, I was as I was nervous as all get out to do this class. I want to thank Rafael, Janice and Myles for such professional conduct. Would recommend their shop to anyone. I'm not normally the type to leave a review.... mostly because I was taught to only speak if I had something nice to say. I came to AHW based on the recommendation of a friend and was immediately transformed from new patron skeptic to a dedicated customer. Janice and Rafael are an awesome duo. Knowledgeable, friendly, and priced reasonably on inventory. I came in for some gunsmith work and was very pleased with the quality and finish of the work I received. I'm a mechanic by trade and have a high standard of work quality and craftsmanship. Rafael didn't disappoint. With work quality and turn around as I've experienced it, I would gladly go back for even double the charge. I look forward to continuing to frequent this awesome establishment for my gun needs and hopefully to take part in their awesome monthly raffles. read more

I am back. These guys are awesome. I dropped in this week with a minor problem requiring tools I did not have and they took care of me immediately. They dropped everything to get me out without waiting. I have numerous future projects which I have not completed because I could't find a gunsmith I trusted. Problem solved. read more
