Sandy was great in helping our group of 6 boys with their first airsoft experience. We went on a Wed afternoon and Sandy (Lady behind the counter) was super helpful with explaining everything, the rentals were all ready and the refs explained the game play, rules, safety, etc very well. Chris (ref) was particularly helpful with tips to improve the gameplay experience. We were amongst 30-40 other 'regulars' but never felt out of place. Highly recommend, but if it's your first time, I would avoid the 'crazy times' as there are some hardcore players. Only downside is that I think I created 6 airsoft monsters. Owner at the front desk is unbelievably disrespectful, unprofessional, and downright rude for absolutely no reason. First time my friends and I went we were made to feel unwelcome immediately upon opening the door. Throughout our entire interaction she was incredibly impatient, huffing and puffing, getting animated, slamming our cards on the table, etc. My friends and I were more or less just confused. Despite this terrible first experience we actually decided to give the place another chance not long after. This would turn out to be a huge mistake because one of my group members had written a negative review on google about their interaction that day. We found out the hard way that if you write a negative review she will write your name down, flag your waiver, and confront you if you ever show up again. In front of other paying customers, she forced me to explain on behalf of my friend (he felt it inappropriate to bring it up in front of customers) that she was being rude. She had nothing to say to that except give us glares for the rest of the day whenever we would pass her and vice versa. I've heard that she is trying to sell this business. I wish her luck in getting it sold because I will not be stepping foot back in this facility until I hear it is under new management. read more

My son and I make the 2 hour drive from eastern MA as often as possible. We have tried RI and MA fields that are a little closer, but this place is worth the drive. It can get busy, and there are a lot of regulars, which in and of itself should tell you something. Reading some of the other reviews, It's a shame that they don't realize how important the rules are to keep players safe. They have to be very firm and direct or people will take advantage and someone will get hurt. I'm especially concerned that others found helpful the review from the guy that wanted to play with a gun, under the influence, any logical person would find that stupid. Bottom line, it's a nice field, that changes frequently, has good refs and a decent store. Repairs are onsite and the staff are very knowledgeable. We've had good experiences for the most part, but every so often not the best, but it's never been a reason to not go there. read more

Tactical airsoft I have been there two times and both times the staff was very rude and very impatient The first time I went there, they made me sign a waiver, (which is normal) when I finished reading, they asked me multiple questions about rules to see if I actually read it which I did and then they added on stuff that was not on the waiver. after I got in, there was limited space to set up my gear and my gun. One of the employees got very angry. When I took my barrel sock off to put my tracer on. It was a very unprofessional how she handled the situation by Saying, in a loud tone that I needed to put my barrel sock on immediately when I explained that I was putting my tracer on she said that it doesn't matter. I need to put it on. after these experiences at tactical airsoft I would never go back. Just want to start off with my first time. One of the girls in the front made me read the rules...granted, of course, then she proceeds to ask me for a rule that was literally not written down. The owner Sandy was nice that time but my friends already warned me about her. Then one of the employees try's selling me armor while I was looking at it, and lied when I told him army barracks had better prices. Second time Sandy gets rude with me and my friend, going to the shooting range to test our guns which is available. She got rude and stopped us and told us we can't go unless a ref is notified. Understand...but there's one ref working at the moment, why couldn't I let you know? After that she started giving us rude looks and stares. Third time was the last time. Me and my friend came in and got our passes and immediately we felt unwelcomed by her. To clear the air and be polite, I asked how her day was. I went out to grab my gear and she asked me "Do you have marijuana?", (to preface we did smoke in the car before we came in because we live in a recreationally legal state) I made up an excuse to try to keep the peace. She said "If you have anything with you you can leave now" which we didnt. I just ignored it, already pissed off. We played a couple games and went and took a smoke break outside away from the building so there'd be no issues with smell or anything. We entered and went in the pre game room and one of the guys came in and asked, "Did you guys go outside and smoke", "yes why?" "Because you can't do that on our property" (which wasn't there property), "Well we own the area" no they don't. Then he goes on yelling at us to get out because we're making a scene which we really weren't, we were talking low and respectfully. Sandy comes in and yells at us "Where's your medical?" (WE ARE BOTH ADULTS IN A LEGAL STATE). I told them how all they needed to do is say don't do it again and we wouldn't have, but they were being disrespectful and unprofessional and escalated the situation. We've always been nice to the employees and even one of the refs doesn't want to work there anymore. They came out yelling at us to leave while I was struggling to grab my gear. Drove 6 hours to play here. Had read so much about this place and was looking forward to a wonderful experience. Within minutes of being here we already felt unwanted. The women at the counter was beyond unprofessional very rude with very nasty looks. Kinda felt like it was because we were black. When asked why we wanted refunds she just nonchalantly gave the Kanye West shrug to our response. No paying customer should ever be made to feel this way. Okay, where do I begin. It costs more than Ground Zero. $5 is nothing, but if you want the most bang for your buck; don't go here. The range is indoors (perhaps the only good thing as you don't have to worry about wind). However, the Field is too linear so it just turns into a massive chokepoint between both teams. Speaking of the teams, they are too often imbalanced. The last time I was there, my friend and I were put onto a team who aside from my friend and I (both 20 years old), had only 10 year old kids with rentals. Meanwhile, the other team was a (Not even overdoing it here) local National Guard infantry squadron. They had snipers and 40x zoom scopes. It was extremely unbalanced. After they left, we destroyed the other team round after round. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BALANCE TEAMS. The staff is the worst. The lady on the cash register is so rude. She treats you like an idiotic child (again, 20 years old and I do this as a hobby). She will act condescending towards literally everyone. And if do make a mistake (my friend forgot his barrel cover at home and had to buy one, and realized this after he had already paid), she will appear as though you just made a major mistake and will act like are a screw up. Luckily my friends go shooting a lot because they offered no instruction. They just walk around and it seems like they do not care about their jobs and would be OK if they were fired. Now to the reason as to why I'm writing this review. My friend and I, both are done with college for the summer and both had the day (Wednesday) off from work. We checked their schedule which is available on the internet. It clearly wrote, "Wednesday: 11:00-8:00" My friend and I decided to go here on our day off (as we saw they were open and had no other time off that week, and we assumed that we could avoid a massive crowd, etc.) So at 10:00 my friend dropped by my residence, and we loaded all of our gear up (guns, cases, magazines, vests, helmets, pads, heavy clothes, ammo) into my car and we began the long (hour long) ride down to TA. We got there at around 11:20 due to traffic. The doors were unlocked and everything seemed fine, until one of the employees told me that they were doing cleaning on the field. So when I asked for an expected finishing time (despite them being open), they said around 2-3 hours. Frustrated, my friend and I resorted to go to a local movie theater and come back. When the movie finished, I called and asked if they were open. The exact response (and I quote), "Yeah, we're open." So I drove the 20 minutes (Windsor is barren of entertainment) from the theater to TA. Only for them to tell me, "Oh well, Wednesday is our cleaning day. It usually takes all day." Now, I work in a Customer Service position so I know; when the store is listed as open, the store should be open. They wasted my only day off in weeks. IF YOU CLEAN THE STORE ON WEDNESDAY, CLOSE THE STORE ON WEDNESDAY. All and all, you know this place is bad if I did not have a Yelp account before today, and created one just because they wasted so much of my time and money. Do not go here, go to Ground Zero. Field is bigger, less linear, outdoors. The staff is friendly and professional. They do not lie to you or misinform you. Costs less. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. read more

I highly recommend avoiding Tactical Airsoft, especially if you are a newcomer to the hobby like I am. The staff is extremely unprofessional and downright rude to their customers. At the time of this review, I paid about $70.00 USD for "Field Play" and to rent the gear I needed to play. There was no safety briefing, an extremely minimal explanation of how the gun works, and no explanation of the rules, outside of being made to read and sign a rules document (clearly just so they can cover themselves legally). At this point, you exit into a large briefing room, where you'll sit anywhere from 15-20 minutes between games (which I thought was too long). Games start by filing into a large tent, where teams are split up, and people are sent to their respective "spawns" to start the match. During no step of this process are questions taken, or rules explained. 95% of the players there clearly were regulars and hobbyists, so I believe the referees took that as reason to not bother going over rules. The actual game and field are okay, and not the reason for the low score. I would argue the all-indoor field is very cluttered, and games consist too largely of people sitting in the back and blindly firing across open spaces for the 10 minutes. Objectives are usually given to the teams beyond shooting other players, but they are largely ignored. For example, one "game mode" consisted of finding seven laptops hidden throughout the playing field; not a single one was found or returned. That being said, it was reasonably fun to run around and shoot. Players were generally friendly and accommodating. My main issue with Tactical Airsoft, and why people should reconsider coming here, is how their employees conduct themselves. Half of the group I went with, including myself, were new to the game, and were thus very unfamiliar with the rules and general flow of play. God help you if you make a mistake: the referees will NOT hesitate to scream and swear at you. My friends and I were berated and screamed at multiple times throughout the few games we played, for infractions ranging from "blind-firing over cover", "not discharging our gun after the game into a designated barrel", to "shooting players within an unspecified safety range". As I said above, the issue here is that the rules were very poorly explained, and the referees clearly had no interest in educating new players beyond kicking them out of games for the smallest of infractions. We were trying our hardest to follow the rules of the game, but it was not made easy to; there are quite a few rules, and they can be very difficult to keep in mind. In my case, I was ejected for two games after reflexively shooting a player within a certain distance (somewhere around 15 feet), instead of yelling "Safety!". This rule was never explained to me, and instead of giving a brand-new player a warning/explanation of the rule, they chose to make me sit out two games while berating me about being an "idiot" for not reading the rules more closely. I think it's shocking that the business expects new players to perfectly memorize a list of 60+ rules, and never make a single mistake during play. In my example, it was just a reflex to shoot another player as he ran by; I did not intentionally try to break rule. Instead of waiting the ridiculous 45+ minutes to play again, I chose to turn in my gun and leave, at which point the employees (referees) continued to call out after me, calling me names and telling me not to come back. At no point did another employee or manager intervene in this altercation. In general, you can tell the business operates mostly through the business of regular customers, and lack of competition in the area. They don't seem interested in new business, going by my treatment. Tactical Airsoft absolutely needs to do the following: - Conduct a safety briefing with all new players, and make sure the rules are properly explained. The way they conduct business right now is downright dangerous. - Replace their referees with people with some level of patience for newcomers, with just a generally better attitude. - Ensure rules are enforced unilaterally. I frequently saw players who were clearly friendly with the referees break rules, such as the "Safety" rule. I was shot multiple times at close range, but this was somehow never a problem. - Stop throwing insults at negative reviews on their Google/Facebook pages, such as calling them "terrible players". It makes them look childish, and gives the bad reviews much more weight. As it stands, I will not be returning, and will be making sure any and all Airsoft players I know avoid this business. read more

My son and his friend had been there today and were ask not to use a certain size bb. They emptied them out as asked. Still they were accused of using them. ( my son caught a ref going in his stuff also) They saw them weighing the bbs they should be using and the scale was wrong. I asked Sandy when was the last time the scale was calibrated... She did not know. She actually doesn't even know how to calibrate the scale. She was telling me that for insurance reasons they could not allow a large caliber BB... I would think for insurance reasons you should have that calibrated every day to protect yourself! Just a poorly run business with an unprofessional owner. It's sad. I went here to play on a Friday night and forgot my smart charger, went back on Saturday to find my charger in the display case with a $15 price tag on it. When I asked why it was there I was told anything in there had been in the lost and found for at least 3 months. Horrible customer service, ridiculous prices relative to other fields. Yea, the customer service isn't all that great. Except for the repair guy, who offered to fix my gun before my next game, but seeing that we had busy I asked for instructions and he told me exactly what to do. Everyone here calls hits, except of course for the kids that just want to troll. I saw a review about the refs, when I went the refs were very friendly and very aware of what was going on. One star is too much for this place. Refs sit around and do nothing, ones in the tower texting and playing with himself and the other is trying to impress 13 year Olds in the respawn. The teams are always unbalanced, mid aged teens with 1000 dollar guns vs 10 year Olds with the Walmart combo. You shoot some one in front of a ref and the guy turns puts on full auto and lights you up at a semi only refs doesn't do anything cause they are either fat and afraid or small and dumb. Poor community with middle age men who can't hold an honor system refs suck only 2 to a massive field . Rules aren't enforced and the field is set up to where everyone sits still and waits. Awful place don't waste your time or money, unless you plan on budding up to the refs for a special treatment. Also they try to make you do push-ups if you mess up also which is soooo stupid they don't care about providing a good experience for new comers or seasoned players. They mess around too much so pay to wait not play. Just an awful place go to ground zero or make your own community and play in woods. They need new management or just revamp their staff you pay 30 bucks for waiting for rounds to start or to see refs swing their Dick around walking on a bench. Please hear this warning. read more

I've been going here for 3 years now and have been going here since I was a beginner. I scoured numerous arenas in my area both outdoor and indoor and fell in love with this arena. I really enjoy the friendly clientele and the staff is phenomenal. They're all very down to earth and very personable people. Anybody here trying to downplay this arena is clearly upset over something personal about their experience. The staff doesn't put up with repeated bullshit and will enforce their rules no matter how polite or friendly you are. They do their very best at keeping order to provide for an awesome airsofting experience. With that said, when all is well, if you're good to them, they're good to you. They really are an awesome bunch of people. The prices (30$ for the whole day) are unbeatable for the insurmountable amount of fun you'll have as well as their 5$ pizza service. They have a fully decked out retail shop with anything you may need and a nifty repair spot as well as their coveted arena which hold the title of "largest jndoor arena in New England". Please, give it a go despite what other reviews may say. Not every arena is everybody (although their Saturday headcounts argue it is for most). Thank you! read more
