I went there to take a handgun safety course and was totally blown away by the number of people who…read moreattended, about 35. More interesting was the fact that the class was evenly divided between men and women. Of the women who attended 2 were lawyers, 1 paralegal, 2 school teachers, two nurses and several single as well as married women. The course ran from 9am until 5pm and covered, firearm safety, review of handgun types, the law concerning handgun ownership and live firing of revolvers and semiautomatic pistols. The course, I felt was somewhat drawn out and might have been condensed but the instructor's personal experience in police work, the ATF, and military tactics and training was nothing short of mind blowing and invaluable. This course is a must if you wish have a handgun permit and I would highly recommend Mark Poirier and Jim Markowski , the course instructors. Be prepared to have your preconceived notions about handguns and handgun statistics, completely blown away and replaced by accurate reliable federal data. This was an eye opener!!!

I own a number of S&W firearms that are used for every day carry and home defense and general sport. Going back to the Model 686 L-Frame revolver that a friend lent me when I got back to the United States from my time overseas. That thing is a dang cannon but it operated supremely and even in competition shooting. I won best in class at an event in Spartanburg with it and it was returned from the loan after it was professionally cleaned by the Hyatt Gun Shop https://www.yelp.com/biz/hyatt-gun-shop-charlotte-2. Hyatt is my regular. I've never had a serious problem with any of my guns. Perhaps the only complaint is that the Bodyguard model (a .380 caliber with an integrated laser) doesn't always fire the primer. Some ammunition seems to be a little "harder" than others. I'm sure that's not a problem with the striker, it's just the randomness of some ammunition. In a box of 50 Winchester "white box", maybe 4 or 5 won't fire. A problem that I don't have with other brands. Firearms are like cars. They come in different styles and models. Some people like Glocks and some like Sig Sauers. For my hand shape and size, the Smith & Wesson design fits perfectly. I'm a customer for life. As for Second Amendment rights, I'm pleased to see that American Outdoor Brands Corporation, the parent company of Smith & Wesson, is closing down their New England warehouse operation. They are moving to a more gun-friendly state and while I'm disappointed that it's not my own North Carolina, I'm glad that they have decided to at least get out of "The Cradle of Liberty" of Massachusetts. They returned one firearm before the other, and shipped it to the wrong address. FedEx aren't any help or support in getting the package re-routed or held for my pickup, and S&W aren't able to reached for support. I've emailed directly, sent contact through their website, and have been calling almost non-stop for the past hour (I just get re-looped through their automated answering bot; can't get to a human being) Hopefully my firearm(s) will show up somewhere I can recover them, or else I'll have to resort to reporting them as lost/stolen property to LE & S&W are then wholly responsible for whatever happens to or with them. Doubt I'll see any sort of compensation by S&W for 2 days of lost labor, and all the frustration and headache they've now caused me. Not to mention, the value of the firearm(s). I'll never buy another S&W product.

Visit at least once a month and your dues will more than be worth it just by the value of training alone.
