I had the taco plate with Carnitas, pinto beans and rice. The taco meat and salsa was delicious and the rice and beans was adequate. Everything had cheese. The food was good but each item was only about four plastic fork sized bites of food. There couldn't have been more than 2 ounces of beans or rice. The taco size was okay but with only two on the plate I will have to stop for a snack on my way home. Five stars for flavor, 2 stars for quantity, thus, rounded up to four stars for goodwill. read more

Terrible service! No one come to take My order or acknowledge I was there but, they saw me when I walked in.

Starting with the service, the cashier took a phone call in the middle of my party placing our order. After sitting and waiting for roughly 10 minutes (good time) our food arrives and was skimpy. Our server could not understand when we asked him "how much does a quesadilla cost". So there was a language barrier there as well. And when asking for more napkins the cashier seemed reluctant to give us more (after only being given 5 for 3 adult men) Now the food. As I previously stated the food was skimpy; for shrimp and streak quesadillas they all were shy of meat. They took up HALF of a small styrofoam place (which was very cheap!!). I finally found real Mexican street tacos in Ruston, or Texas for that matter. I ordered the Carne asada tacos served with onion and cilantro. The taste was amazing! Reminded me of Taqueria del Anda in Orange County, CA. Since I've moved to North Texas and come to CenLA for work. I'm always trying new restaurants and this one, for a quick, scrumptious lunch is perfect. Visiting Ruston for the week, I was super excited to find a taco trailer in this small town. And, even more surprised to find a good one! I had gone earlier in the week to try it out and it was closed so I tried again on a Thursday and called before I arrived. They were open this time. The guy at the window was so nice. He called me 'miss' about 100 times, and gave helpful suggestions on ordering. Gotta' love those southern manners! :) For under $7.00, I received a chicken taco and quesadilla with a little dollop of sour cream on the side. The corn and flour tortillas were both soft and warm, along with the small pieces of diced chicken. I loved the cilantro as it was a nice flavor enhancer. I would have liked more hot sauce but the meal didn't need it, I just love it. They also have fish, pork or beef to choose from as well. It's kind of hidden on a hill next to some businesses. But it has some of the best tacos in town. IM not talking about the generic texmex tacos but something with actual flavor. I got the taco plate with a steak and seasoned pot tacos and it was great! The staff was really nice and really wanted to make sure that everything was up to expectations. Won't say this place is bad, but it's not what I was hoping for. I read a few reviews that said it was the "real deal" authentic Mexican and I was disappointed. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, I'd give it another go. I ordered two tacos, one chicken one beef. Both came on corn tortillas, topped with cilantro, onions, shredded cheese, and hot sauce. The meat was bland, too much cheese, and hot sauce didn't have a great flavor. The homemade chips were very good, I also ordered chips and salsa. The "salsa" was the same as the hot sauce that came on the tacos, lacking flavor. This place has so much potential, they just need to spice it up a bit. They were super friendly and quick with the order, and very reasonably priced. I'd give them another shot in the future, but this wasn't the authentic Mexican flavor I was hoping for. read more

The blandest Mexican food i have ever tried. The salsa is essentially tomato soup with onions and cilantro sprinkled ontop. The ground beef taco was so bland it was like they browned some ground beef without any seasoning. read more

After a friend raved about this place, I decided to try it since I was in Ruston and hungry. I ordered a steak taco and a chicken taco. They were delicious. They were both so flavorful. Note: these tacos had onions and cilantro, rather than the Americanized version with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. I have to say, I think I prefer these. I thought about these tacos all day and wished I had ordered a third. I'm eager to return next time I'm in Ruston, and will probably order the taco plate. This is not a restaurant to take a large group, having a small dining room with maybe six or eight tables that can seat four, but smaller groups would not be disappointed. Always a nice spot for a quick lunch or snack. Food is cooked and served from a trailer and there's no seating so this is takeout or eat in your car. Ummm can you say yum?!?! I got the chicken quesadilla and i was having a mouth orgasm. Like you know when you are like gagging in the inside because you body is in shock! It has cheese, chicken, cilantro, onions, hot sauce, and sour cream. Like That burrito tortilla is freaking sopping with the chicken juices and hot sauce.
