The pulled pork was very tender, moist and smoked deliciously. Soft hoagie roll. The bbq sauce was very flavorful and not spicy which is how I like it. I loved the coleslaw because it wasn't too mayonnaisey, more of a subtle vinegar flavor. My son ordered the brisket with collard greens which he says, you can't truly be a bbq restaurant without collard greens. He loved them and the brisket was tender and lean. His husband ordered a tri tip sandwich with the Mac n cheese along with a made to order Blackberry Lemonade. They both loved their meals. We all agreed we'd return for another meal. And it's never dry, like some smoked meat can be. For those mentioning price, they're cheaper than their competitors, for a better product. If you go buy a tri tip to cook at home, it'll be around $30 for one roast. Brisket is even higher. Then consider the process to smoke it can take half a day or more. MTJTT isn't cheap, but it's not a rip off. It's a fair price for what you're getting. The location is good, close to everything in the city, but off on a side street, so it's more peaceful without having to drive forever to get there. I've been there a couple times now on triple-digit days, and there's always a nice comfortable breeze in the covered area. I hope they catch on, and expand. I'm a huge fan!

Their bbq has very thick bark on it, as in the whole entire rack of ribs looked like it was cremated! There was more bark than there was meat, which made the majority of it very dry. I threw half of it away. The potato salad was undercooked and just meh. It didn't have much flavor. The BBC burger did have plenty of the brisket, but the brisket was also dry. My husband said the best part of it was the beef patty. The tri tip Mac and cheese was edible, but nothing extraordinary. They threw on some meat, bbq sauce, and canned jalapeños. Overall, we spent $50 and drove 40 minutes for bad bbq. We love supporting local businesses and don't mind spending our hard earned money on good food, but this place was not it. I'll start off by saying customer service has improved since the first time I went. The food has…read morebeen great the last few times we've been, and I would get it more often, however since I don't eat red meat, pork, or chicken, I usually substitute for Shrimp, or no meat, but the up-charge for substituting is overpriced, or the fact that I'm paying the same amount for no protein also sucks. Having worked 15+ years in the food industry, substituting proteins isn't a new concept. Additionally it makes it hard to want to try other items since they are all packed with proteins I don't eat, and I have to pay the up charge to substitute, and I don't want to pay $20, only to be disappointed, so I stick to my usual. I will continue to recommend them, and occasionally visit, when I have the craving. I hope to see a more cost efficient substitution added.
