I stopped by here on a sudden urge for a burrito and I'm glad I did! The owner, Chester, spent several minutes explaining his methods and evolution of the food to me, which I quite enjoyed. I'm very involved in the food I choose to eat and put a lot of thought into the quality, nutrients, and cleanliness of ingredients so it was absolutely reassuring to me to learn a bit more about it. Chester let my daughter and me sample five different things and even gave my daughter a small sorbet cone for free, which she loved! I see a lot of negative reviews on here about the "showmanship" of him showing the grease trap, letting customers watch the food get cooked, etc (which he did with us too!) but it was a unique experience and I enjoyed that as well. The prices are more than "other Mexican food" but it is because the quality is far higher - if ya want a cheap burrito, go to Taco Bell and enjoy your stomachache later. In addition he asked me about my dietary needs and actually listened, so that he was able to make me a custom order based on what I would enjoy. He made recommendations for the other items I ordered for my family. That being said - the food ended up being delicious! It was fresh and had a unique flavor that was refreshing. The food is over priced, tasteless, and the menu is restricted unless you come often. Certain items are only available to his "family," which you have to fill out a punch card to become a part of. It's not a few select items either, it's close to half of the options to choose from. My wife went a second time not too long ago to see if we got a bad batch the last time, and he berated her because her punch card was from the previous year and she didn't "come support his business enough to be family." The owner will paralyze you with conversation about how much better for you his food is, his entire life story, his kids, etc. The first time we went he spent 20 minutes after we ordered recounting his life as opposed to making our food. When he finally did start it took him another 20 to make us four tacos because he kept talking so much. We really try to support local businesses but every experience we've had here has been extremely negative and we can't recommend this food truck to anyone. read more

Eww the dog's hair is laced into the corn and mayonnaise. The chile smells so bad too, it stunk up the car instantly everyone told me to keep the lid closed so I did and didn't open it until our destination only to find the long wavy black hair from the dog that was woven into the corn. The dog was leashed up in the owner's truck right next to the taco truck. The owner is bald it wasn't from his head and had to have been from the dog. Upon arrival he opens the window and says "First time here? Welcome home. I was told I talk too much" and immediately started rambling about corporate America health issues and talked about taking videos for his business website which I found confusing and I didn't know where he was going with that, and proceeds to talk about health warnings and how his slogan has a copy-write. He kept rambling about cancers from grease and told me America eats so unhealthy that it causes all types of cancers- "one of two people get cancer" he said which I found alarming and made me question if he was talking about his own food. He proceeded to estimate my age and literally said that I probably won't live to be as long as him? What the heck? I rebuke you. I did not appreciate the experience or the conversation with him and wanted to leave but he already started making the corn. He didn't even let me order and just assumed I only came for corn. I did not appreciate that there was no price on the elote before the purchase and there was an additional $1 charge for paying with card that the owner told me after telling me about the Bible verses and how this service is his ministry and then said how "cash is King"- that doesn't make sense. He informed me of the cancers and grease issues in America that I didn't care for, and told me he compares himself to Costco and how you have to pay for a membership to eat the corn. He compared how Costco charges the public for their food market so he does too. My mom's elote that you say you'd outdo is definitely better. Hope the food and customer service improves. The owner should wear gloves. Proceed with caution, I'd be too scared to go back. Was too scared to try any of it, straight into the trash can after I saw that hair. I don't care, gross. Worst food decision ever. I was very excited & had a craving for some Mexican street corn and I know this truck advertises it. Figured it would be a quick trip and back home. This dude talked to me while making food for other people and then has the nerve to tell me that I couldn't order street corn yet because I had to prove that I was part of the family. Like it's some upper-echelon of food here. You know what makes a great steak...the marbling of fat throughout the meat. So to boast that you use no fat in your cooking doesn't get me excited. Unfortunately I had the non pleasure of eating at this establishment and spending nearly $20 bucks for four tacos. Never in my life have I seen guacamole that looks like puréed baby poop and taste on par. The owner spent more time trying to tell me how great his food was and up selling me on the health benefits. All I wanted was my food after a long hard day at work. I love giving businesses a chance but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. Meat was dried out and over salted - there is actually a reason you need some of that fat which he doesn't like to cook with. The tortillas from tacos where your typical store bought corn tortillas that had been put on the grill. No oil or water used resulting in dried out corn pucks that were barely edible. This man has perfected the art of inedible tortillas - which is pretty epic! Run don't walk from this place to anything or anyone in the vicinity. Absolutely terrible customer service. Why does the owner try to force you to get into the food truck to "show you" how he makes the food and his "grease teap"? If you refuse he acts like you insulted him and takes an attitude towards you. As long as you are licensed and have a food handlers card I don't give a damn, just give me the food I ordered and leave my wife and I alone. The "3 minutes" it was supposed to take to get some Mexican corn ended up being like 15-20 minutes. $15 for two pieces of corn is way too much. The guy running the truck seems mentally unstable and that makes me uncomfortable since he is making food. Needless to say I will not be spending my money here. After reading some reviews I now understand why the owner got upset when he told me the price and I jokingly said "oh that's MY price, am I being upcharged"? And smiled, this guy took it the wrong way and says "I can sell it to someone else if you don't want it". We say this food truck close by and wanted to try it hopefully find a new spot close by. First we arrived and its super dark if my husband wasn't with me I would have not stopped. Next the food prices and plates are very different to authentic mexican food. Im Mexican I make authentic mexican food if im lazy I go to a taco truck. Prices are steep for a taco truck I wanted to try a 1 taco only, they dont offer this but only taco plates that are 17.99 * etc. I looked at the menu and wasn't to excited I ordered a side of guac only. My husband ordered a torta from a "Secret Menu" which was a sandwich literally with bell peppers and little to no meat. Tortas are not made on torta bread but instead costco artisan rolls wish I would have taken a picture but it was dark out this came out to $28 for a side of gauc and a torta. We should have just gone to to a sit down restaurant for these prices. The owner is really nice and takes a ton of pride in his business but can talk your ear off and make it a 45 minute for fast food. I wouldnt mind he is super nice but Im not expecting to spend so much time just picking up food my toddler was no happy at all to be stuck in her car seat and was crying by the time we left. You're gonna love it, or you're gonna hate it. This is healthy mexican food with a conscience. If you can't handle eating very uniquely-tasty tacos without over eating, this place will not be for you. It's on the pricey side, but the flavors that go into the food via the meat seasoning and the very delicious house made hot sauce make for a very satisfying meal. If I were to list any cons, it would be the tortillas. They are your standard store bought street taco corn shell. If Chester would offer house made tortillas for an upcharge, this place would hit on all marks. The hibuscus/mango juice is off the wall. Very fresh tasting, will kick you in the face with the intense flavor. Tried a sample of the horchata, also VERY flavorful. As for the Elotes... I could commit corn-consumption induced seppuku with that stuff. In conclusion, if your looking for cheap, fast, food-coma inducing greasy food, move on. If you want to try some quality, cooked with love mexican food and don't mind spending a bit more than you usually would, then swing in and bullshit with Chester while he cooks you up some delicious food. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I'm surprised that this establishment has an average of 4 stars. It doesn't deserve it. Reading other bad reviews, it seems he has the same tactic with all his customers. He also welcomed us to the "family", showed us his grease trap, gave us teeny samples, an explanation on why he doesn't use pork, compared his meat quality to fine wine, showed us his feature in the Columbian, and explained how he uses only the best ingredients. First it was like, oh wow this guy is passionate & kinda funny. But asking anything about the menu resulted in a 5-10 minute explanation & this became quite frustrating. This is a food cart! We came here because we were low on time & it took 30 MINUTES to order two burritos which were highly overpriced at $9.99 each. Time is money. Then his card device wasn't working properly so it denied one of my cards, finally accepted a different card, & wouldn't accept my friend's card at all. Instead of taking the blame & giving him the burrito for free he said he needs to come back because he owes $10.83. Yikes, what kind of customer service is that?! I walked away from there with almost no desire to actually eat the burrito. & the burrito itself was not that great. It was almost too heavy- rice, beans, meat. No freshness about it. We finally made it and could not have been any more satisfied. We tried the Carne Asada and the Chicken tacos. It is great to finally find a great place for Mexican food in Clark County! We ate at one of the two picnic tables next to the truck and savored every bite of the food. The rice is some of the best I have had. So many places try to make it special and end up over-doing it...not here. It is simple AND wonderful. The carne asada and chicken are both great in their own rights. While the tacos need no additional seasoning or flavor, the homemade sauces (green and white) add a special kick that is sure to please. If you are like us and wonder where the "Cream" comes from, it is their homemade ice cream...and it is amazing as well! I'm genuinely confused by this place, let me tell you why... I'm plant-based and use Happy Cow (an app) to find restaurants with vegan options. Since I was visiting my friends in this area and was not familiar with local options, I was happy to find this truck suggestion as something quick to snag on my way out of town. They had a vegan burrito option which consisted only of beans, rice, and caramelized onions, which I wasn't necessarily annoyed about because sometimes simple is the most satisfying. It ended up costing $8.15 (with $1 charge for using a card) and was, I kid you not, the size of A FIST. When it was handed to me I thought it was some sort of joke... am I really paying this much for food with cheap ingredients -- beans and rice?? I eat this type of food very regularly and find delicious burritos of similar quality that are 3-5x bigger on a regular basis. Walking away I was already a little peeved because I knew it would only put a little dent in my hunger. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, hoping it was a mind-blowing burrito. The beans were seasoned great, the rice was crunchy, and the onions, albeit tasty and sweet, took up half the burrito (not really what I'm hoping for in a burrito). There was a mini-sized sauce to match the mini-sized burrito that was just ok. Overall I would give it a 3/5 in flavor and 1/5 for value. The owner seemed friendly, but very much like a salesperson, hyping up the food. I could see how some people enjoy him and some people are super turned off by it. The day I flew back in from San Diego, I swung through tn'c for some carne asada. This food is honestly better than anything I had from right next to the border. It's rare to meet someone as passionate about their food as the owner, and he's always willing to explain why his food is the way it is. The guy spent way too much time convincing us that his tacos were the best hands down when in reality they were truly the worst street tacos I've ever had period. I wished I had gone to Taco Bell rather than this place. I was more than willing to give this place a chance despite all of the negative reviews, but still ended up being predictably bad. I wish I could have said something better but there was absolutely nothing good about my experience. Change the way you business and you might actually have a shot. This place is great! I've had the burritos several times and the tacos now and both are delightful. Each time I kinda wish for more, haha. The beans are some of the best black beans I've ever had. The portions could be bigger for the price but for a splurge it is worth it. The only thing I can say could be different is Chester (the friendly owner) could lay off on the explanations and background of the food he makes. He's very proud of what he has made and will let you know perhaps too much. The only reason I mention the over-sharing on food items is because I like to keep food stops quick and cannot afford sticking around too long. I went here for my first time yesterday. I ordered the IT burrito but without onions. He stated his onions were mixed into the meat already, but he could cook the onions a certain way. After stating I wanted them a bit more crispy, he cooked them exactly that way for my burrito, which was so delicious! I would recommend the pico and avocado for the burrito. The salsa was super yummy, but I wish there was more. He gave us another container, but they are fairly small. Would be nice to have a squeeze bottle at the table, which would also cut down on the waste for our environment. If you are accustomed to eating Taco Bell, you won't appreciate this food. The spices are amazing and the lack of fat means you feel great after eating his food. It is sad that people expect so much for so little. You want healthy food from a food cart, this is where you will find it. You want shit food in a hurry? Go to Taco Bell. Tacos n Cream is now a food truck. After being one of the lucky ones that got to eat here when Chester was cooking outdoors, I have wanted him to come back and now he has (after about a year and half hiatus). The food is just as good as I remembered, but now instead of exclusively serving carne asada items (burritos, tacos, etc), the menu has expanded slightly to include chicken. Ingredients are high quality, seasoned very well, and prepared by the owner, Chester, who is one of the most passionate people about the food he makes I've ever met, and very friendly to boot. I've started taking people from work here for lunch and recommend the first thing they try is an "It" burrito (very big and yummy) and the Nutty Wutty (a unique take on horchata with chopped nuts inside it, so good). Because it is not super clear from the location information above, as of the time I write this review Chester has said that on odd days (i.e. 15, 17, 19) the truck will be at NE 117th (i.e. the 503) just north of NE 65th in the AAMCO parking lot.
