I have to be careful reviewing these places. In case anyone looking for credible words. This is one of older mexican style restaurants in the area. One of MANY. It will take alot to impress me to get a good grade. This one is not bad. It's decent. I would probably stop in here if I needed my fix. Not the most amazing I've had. To more seasoned taste buds could be a bit bland...but not on the bad side. Just in between. The environment is very comfortable. Always a mix of diversity coming through the door to pick up orders. Staff speaks english. The parking situation can be a bit tough. I had to one night park almost 2 blocks down to get my food. Another night I had to keep someome in the driver seat to keep the engine warm another night. With newer condos being built just down the road in the future this could be a bigger challenge. This is the battle at this location. Staff has always been friendly and accurate with all orders. The pricing of the food is modest considering todays economy. Clean. One of the girls at work suggested that we get takeout from Tacos Lupita. We ordered a few combo Taco Plates which included 3 steak tacos, rice and beans. The Taco's were made in the authentic style and tasted fabulous. The rice and beans were average. I also had the pleasure of seeing the Grilled Steak/Carne Asada which includes a generous amount of grilled steak along with salad rice and beans. The value is well worth it. Best tacos in town. Almost don't want other people to know, it's that good. Sometimes they are so busy they don't pick up the phone. Anyways I realized last night while scarfing down some Lingua and Pastor tacos why people "think" they like flour tortillas more than corn. It's because they've not had fresh corn tortillas. The ones at Lupita are amazing, so soft and full of flavor. They also do Tortas and burritos and every other variation of meat plus on tortilla that you typically find in a Mex joint. Two and a half stars. Lots of seating, street parking in the area, clean bathroom, TV to catch some soccer, fair portions, good service, fresh limes, cheap eats. My main issue was that everything was greasier than typical: I don't mind DIY salt on house tortilla chips, but I was consistently dabbing oil off the surface before dipping it in the light salsa verde. The al pastor was just okay: shaved meat grilled to have texture, rather than chunks. (DC natives will find TB to be far superior in flavor.) The chorizo taco was superior, as the spice and graininess of the pork was mellowed out by the tortilla. Mulita had a dense tortilla-- also greasy from the crisping on the plancha-- and while I appreciated the liberal amount of cheese, I was unimpressed by the quality of the coarsely diced lengua (DC natives will find better tongue at most taquerias; USC alumni will find this heavy and simplified in comparison to LT). I was too full after two tacos and a mulita to try their menudo or carne asada, but the thin horchata kept me from feeling like a food brick. read more

I love this place - after reading so many great reviews, I had to go, and it is delicous and cheap. It was $12.50 for a chicken taco, chicken mulita, chicken gordita, can of Diet Coke, and a bottle of Mexican Coke. That fed (overfed, probably) two people. Our favorites were the mulitas and the taco, especially with the spicy green sauce. And the Mexican Coke was great. It is small inside, but at 1 pm on Saturday, it was not too busy, so we found seats. No problem finding parking at that time, either. The dining area is clean, the restrooms are clean, the staff is friendly. I think it's perfect after-drinking food; unfortunately, they close at 10 pm, so I guess will it need to be hangover food the next day. But really, it is just good anytime food. read more

I can not say enough good things! I got the combo taco plate (chicken and all pastor tacos) and both were delicious. The al pastor was unlike any I've had (it was like spare rib meat with seasoning. Tender and delicious)! And the chicken was good too. The rice and beans were just right. They had that homemade taste to them and the seasoning was there but not too heavy. Perfect. I have been a long time customer since they opened and have enjoyed their food. I have been purchasing Dining Advantage coupons which is a program the restaurant apparently enrolled in and have been using them the last couple of years. They started giving me a hard time using them the last few times I went there no more than once a month. The last time was probably in February. I went there today and they refused to accept my coupon that I purchased for $9 today. After taking my order, the cashier said they won't take coupons. The coupon clearly has the name of the restaurant, the address, and the expiration date as I printed it today after buying it. They obviously signed up to be part of Dining Advantage since there are only a few restaurants in the area that are part of the program and don't just start letting consumers buy coupons at random restaurants. I could understand if they told me they couldn't accept it temporarily after re-opening after the pandemic but they were hassling me prior to March. The place was empty when I went. If this is the way they are going to treat customers, they will sadly become another COVID rescausality. There are plenty of other small restaurants in Lynn that offer similar quality food and at a similar price point that I will gladly order food from without being given a hard time. If they don't want to take accept Dining Advantage, I don't know why they remain in the program where people are wasting money buying coupons for this restaurant. This taco joint features lots of options with order at the counter service. I chose the barbacoa and al pastor with a side of chips to share.
