Hacienda Carona (this time to go) - Lynnway, Lynn Grandma's Enchilada - I highly recommend! (same menu at their sister restaurant Casa Carona in Marblehead)! $20 including tax & modest tip and it's enough for TWO meals! This a a comfort favorite of mine with their unique blend of Mexican flavors, warm nachos, and salsa with just the right amount of cilantro! read more

We tried this place twice and like it. People were very nice and welcoming, it was clean ( the smell of pine-sol is not too overwhelming :) Nothing crazy, but consistently good mexican food. Portions are big, like it's supposed to be in mexican hacienda:) read more

The food was just OK, and the salsa was extremely salty. When we asked the owner about salsa that wasn't so salty, he said that that was all that the chef had made. Additionally, the waitress (co-owner?), very quickly brought the bill, and kept coming back to look for payment, when we were not ready to leave because we were having a conversation. By the way, this was mid-afternoon, and the place was empty. read more

First time here and was pleasantly surprised with this little hole in the wall. Not a huge restaurant, but the service was great (and fast!) and the food was obviously made on site (not frozen and reheated). Drinks were good. Didn't get to try the queso, but I'll be back. Highly recommend. read more

Came with my brother at noon on a Sunday to a half filled establishment. Hostess was quick to welcome and seat us. By the time we ordered, the two long tables they had set up were filled by a large party. A live mariachi band played a handful of songs and offered to sing for individuals. Fair warning, the music may make it difficult to hold a conversation. My brother ordered their carne asada with the option between flour or corn tortillas. I had grandmas burrito since it was my craving for the day. Everything was delicious and fresh. Loved the atmosphere and good vibes. Will definitely come again and highly recommend! read more

This restaurant isn't too big inside but they definitely accommodated our big party of 22. The servers were all super friendly from the start. The menus are huge. It's a big a%# book. They have various entrees food pick from and it all sounded sooo good. I ended up ordering their pollo a la cazuela and chicken tortilla soup. My sister had their chicken fajitas. My mom ordered their molcajete. Our drinks and chips were refilled several times and our server was friendly. The food was delicious! My dish was great. It was pretty big so I ended up taking some home. The chicken tortilla soup was one of a kind. It was very good though! Definitely recommend this restaurant if you want some delicious Mexican food! read more

Everything checks the boxes. Clean, large facility that has the authentic vibe. We sat in the tented patio, the music was super loud but quickly realized that it was to mask the traffic on Rte 1a. Miriam was the most attentive server and checked on us frequently. She really cares about her customers! The guacamole (we ordered 2!) was simply outstanding, seriously better than the quality we order in Mexico! The guacamole had chopped jalapeños, just fabulous. We ordered skinny spicy and traditional spicy margaritas, again the drinks were awesome. The chips are freshly made, you can watch the tortilla maker, the salsa has a nice kick to it. Hubby had chicken mole burrito, he says delicious. I enjoyed carnitas entree, also terrific. If you want authentic, friendly, efficient and tasty, this is the place! read more

This little spot is a hidden gem. The staff always make you feel extremely welcome, and they made my mother's birthday special. This place is alive and lovely. From the decorations to the actual Mexican band singing while you are dining inside is fantastic! We randomly just passed by this restaurant and we grabbed the chance to stop and eat in here and we didn't make a bad choice. They served us in a timely manner. I got the huachinaga which was the fried whole fish with rice and salad on the side, we also got the some chicken fingers and a burrito. All the food is good and the service was also good. We were in a rush so we didn't stay and took our time. It was a great experience to wrap up with and we took most of the food to go. read more

Got a huuuuuge chicken burrito - great portion and value, loved the taste. Bar area is a little sketchy (and NOT like shown on some photos on this app - no draft beer offerings... and looked like it did t get much use lately). But the dining room looked clean and well run. Service was solid, all around. I would definitely go back. read more

I dropped by the Hacienda Corona on Thursday May 23rd around 2:30PM on my way home to Winthrop. I had not eaten since I my early start at 4:30AM and I was quite hungry. It was the 3rd time that I have eaten at the Hacienda Corona, the two previous times were with my wife and daughter. I was a bit surprised that it was not busy, with only two other diners in this large restaurant at this time of the day. There also were three female employees that appeared to not have much to do to keep them busy. The bottom line is that the drink and meal that I ordered represented the worst beverage and Mexican food that I have ever eaten. If I had been with my wife and daughter, I would have sent it back. However, I was hungry, and I felt sympathy for the women who were not busy and trying to make a living. Note: The door to the kitchen was open, and I had not seen anyone working or walking around in the kitchen the entire time I was in the restaurant. When I was done with my "meal", I asked the waitress "where is the chef/cook?", and that I wanted to speak to him/her. She responded that "she was helping out". This only confirmed what I was observing while I was eating and is the reason for my writing this review. It was obvious that the woman who sat me at my table, not only made my margarita, but she also prepared the meal (enchiladas de camarones) that I ordered. After I paid $40 cash on a $32 dollar check, I went back to my car and reflected on the horrible dining experience that I had, and my hope that I would not become sick. As I was driving home, I called the Hacienda Corona and told the woman who answered the phone that it was the worst Mexican food that I had ever eaten. She replied that I could come back and she would return the $40 that I had given her. Not only did I not wish to return to the restaurant for the money wasted, but I will never return to this restaurant for their "food". read more

This place is great! My friends and I came here on a Saturday evening after we spent the day at nearby Nahunt Beach. For dining, it is all outdoor seating that is covered by a large tent. The tables were adequately spaced out and the employees were wearing their masks. Each table gets one bowl of complimentary tortilla chips with salsa (any more costs extra). For drinks, we ordered the Mango and Sangria margaritas. The drinks were STRONG! I was practically drunk off of one. For food, we got the Chicken Quesadilla and Huevos Rancheros which were excellent. When we got our bill we got a nice surprise when they gave us four free house tequila shots with oranges slices. It was a nice touch! Bravo Hacienda Corona. read more

Great food and drinks. No real ambiance, a bit of a dive. But the food, drinks and service are really good.

Pretty solid spot for some good Mexican food. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is so bright and lively. They have a pretty good drink selection. The food is quite tasty too, with a pretty good variety, a little something for everyone. I like the taquitos as an appetizer and the enchiladas are a pretty good choice for an entree. Often times there are parties and large groups here, but we've never had an issue with getting a table. I had honestly never really thought to come here until my parents tried it, and my dad had taken the boyfriend and I here twice, most recently last night. I think it is safe to say that Hacienda Corona is worth a try. read more

This place is so legit. Second time here, excellent service, amazing food, generous portions, margaritas that don't skimp on the booze.. kinda old school but in all the right ways. So I decided to head on over to Lynnway for a little bit of Mexican. I was a little disappointed at first when the dining room was closed and they said we have outside seating. To my surprise they had a huge tent over the whole exterior area they had heavy duty wood Mexican designed chairs set up around outdoor tables you would not even know that you're sitting on the Lynnway it was a fabulous set up the atmosphere was great I would actually go back and request the outdoor seating it was that nice. Now onto the beverages I requested a special margarita using Anejo tequila and Grand Marnier with no mixers only limes and a salt rim. Well let me tell you that was one of the best drinks I've had at a Mexican restaurant. The taste was fantastic the liquor content high and it came out iced with a salted rim it was perfection. They serve you complementary chips and salsa both homemade both tasty. We ordered a couple fajitas a steak fajita with peppers and onions a second one steak and just peppers they came out steaming the meat and vegetables were definitely fresh. With the fajitas came out perfectly cooked rice, refried beans and you also have a scoop of guacamole and a scoop of sour cream we opted for double guacamole hold the sour cream and I'll tell you they gave you a lot of guacamole I was impressed. The servers were extremely polite and very willing to go that extra mile to make sure that our meal went perfectly excellent excellent service. Obviously I will definitely be returning to this location next time I'm in the mood for a little Mexican. For those of you that are a little distance from the Lynnway it's well worth the trip. read more

4/5 Tried a number of the dishes here and I was pleased with most of them (especially the seafood burrito!). The amount of meat and seafood in the dishes is well worth the price charged which is always a plus in my book. Quick bite in area nothing like yrs back new chef staff Im sure.... , not sure what happened here but if you frequented Taco Bell or never been to Mexico you will love it here, but my recent visit was anything but. The margs taste like pre made battery acid and I can tell batch jug made earlier because a few ice cubes sitting watered down .... Now the food order under 5 -10 mins quickness only alerts me that the meals are PREMADE and reheated in microwave as I can taste the hard pieces of rice as well as hard tortilla.... Nonetheless if your a MCDs eater or never eat out this is for you .... The salsa I puked in shower when I got home pretty sure its just hot sauce with ketchup.... read more

Food was great except they were out of the only dish I wanted--pork chops. So I had carne asada instead. My companion had a veggie fajita which was out of this world! Only four stars because the waitress didn't know the price of a drink. It changed 3 times and was more than she first told me. Why not have the drink prices on the menu so no one gets confused and the price is randomly given. That's not good business. "Let's see.. for you that Casarito is $11 or $12." (She brings it out). " it's $15 now" Is this 1920s Germany? Inflation that bad the price of a drink goes up $4 in 5 minutes? Also the waitress brought the check and got tied up with other tables. She never came back for it. Finally I grabbed a waiter and he brought it with no pen! So I had to walk over and the original waitress gave me a pen, looking puzzled as to what was going on. Just a long process to get our check and leave. If things were smoother we'd come back, but not sure now. Again, the food was really really tasty though! So that was nice. I wish I could have tried the pork too though.. read more

Here we are - years later. Still frequenting this place. The food is just super. 5+++ stars! Finally good Mexican food on the East Coast!!! Everything was ample, flavorful and came out quickly. Delicious hot homemade chips and salsa and the skinny margarita was massive and so delicious. We had the carne asada tacos, grilled chicken burrito and chicken street tacos with fresh guacamole. And surprise-- they gave us a shot of tequila free at the end of the meal! Absolutely worth the visit and they have an excellent outdoor area under a huge tent with social distancing in place for the COVID19 pandemic. Servers all wear masks and they are very courteous and responsive. We loved it and highly recommend. We missed our West Coast Mexican joints and this place was 100% authentic. read more

DON'T BOTHER! Unless you are going there to drink, don't bother to go for the food. Ate there at noon on a Thursday. Ordered my favorite - - the SMALL Chile Relenos combo for 10.99. Plate WAS hot, refried beans WERE hot, rice was hot, but - - MAIN DISH was COLD in middle - - prepared earlier, re-heated and served. The cheese looked like a shoe insert. THEN - - even though I said NOTHING to the waitress about the food (and, she did not ASK), when my bill came, it was for $2 more - - the price of the LARGE combo. When I pointed it out to the waitress, she blinked, went back (I thought to CORRECT it - - WRONG), charged my card the regular amount. I took the $2 from the tip I would have left. They will survive without MY business. Yes, I AGREE with some people who call me a jackass. read more

Ambiance is great, specially because the Mariachi guys go around the restaurant basking costumers if they want to hear any request song! It was a plus. We were there today it was our first time in, the place wasn't very busy we didn't have any reservations but the host accommodated us very quick, when we got the chips a salsa one of the male servers just thrown them on the table without greeting the table I used to be a server and I can tell that kind of details really counts specially went a costumer had a first time experience! Our lady server was very friendly. We ordered two dishes that comes with tortillas but went the food arrived the food runner forgot to bring them so went I ask one of the servers to get my tortillas he got them but never asked anything so when we got the bill we were charged for the homemade tortillas because it has a extra charge for it like if we were ordering extra stuff. Overall my experience wasn't what I was expecting the ambience is great the mariachis were very kind and friendly, the food wasn't seasoning at all! Some of the staff specially the boys are very rude! read more

We went here on a Saturday. It was very obvious we were served the food from last night or maybe even the day before. The chips were stale, the guacamole was brownish, the lettuce was ready for the dumpster. Our dishes both tasted reheated and the chicken had a very unpleasant taste. It really didn't taste like chicken. Usually the reviews on Yelp are spot on, not this time!!! My husband thinks they should be ashamed to serve old food the way they did. And he NEVER complains! It was really overpriced too for such horrid food. Please don't go here unless you just want drinks. read more

Came here since the beau was craving Mexican and insisted.. I will say the decor was fun and inviting. It's very lively in here. However, I was not impressed with the food or service. It took a lengthy time for the wait staff to come take our order. I couldn't comprehend why due to the lack of patrons (even on Sat night!). In a couple of instances, we had to employ the bus lady, who I will say was very attentive. We even had to get up after our meal to hand the women our check at the register since our patience for our waiter ran out.... On to the food.. My beau decided on chicken mole, while I chose baked tilapia. The chicken mole was immensely sweet. We've had mole in other establishments (East Boston and Chelsea vicinity) but not as ridiculously sweet. It was as if they added a bowl of extra sugar/chocolate in it, disgusting, no spice to it... They also gave us house hot sauce (very good btw) but the mole was just a lost cause. No amount of hot sauce could disguise the sweetness. Totally inedible! The baked tilapia tasted like it was fried. Whatever seasoning/breading they use, I did not enjoy it at all, too salty for my taste buds, huge disappointment. The plates that the meals are served on is also enormous considering the portions you receive. At first glance, you're convinced it's a generous amount but clearly once you dig in, it's really not.. Looks are quite deceiving.. Overall, would I return? Maybe? To sample other items, but not ordering what I ordered previously ever again.. In all honesty, I prefer a Border cafe/Papagayo to this... read more

Solid authentic Mexican food! We started with complimentary chips and two salsas. Both were delicious. The first one had some heat. It was also a classic salsa (no chunks) The second salsa was less traditional and more like a pico de gallo to appease the gringos. We both ordered gold margaritas= smokey tequila, triple sec and fresh squeezed line juice. At $8.50 each they were a tasty treat! My better half ordered the enchiladas w/ shrimp and I ordered the chicken and poblano enchiladas w/ mole. Holy shit! The sauces alone on both entrees were enough for a five star yelp. The mole poblano was complex with subtle savory flavors and a hint of sweetness. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. Our server told us it was a family recipe. The cream sauce inside of the shrimp enchiladas had a nice citrus bite to it. Salsa verde was slathered over the top of both enchiladas. The verde had great flavor profiles backed up with a subtle heat! The sides of rice and refried beans were delicious. My only complaint is ditch the yellow shredded cheese and garnish the beans with with some queso fresco! We finished the night with a delicious apple chimichanga. For the lack of a better description it was basically fried apple pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Wow! I'll take this place over the border cafe any day of the week! read more

I have been here many times, it's always good. Never had a bad experience here. I would recommend the quesadillas, the soups, and burritos. They have a variety of seafood and different meats for your meal. Salsa is good, queso is good which is very important to me. If the salsa is good at the start it's a good sign. Recommend basically any burrito or quesadilla, and if you like black bean soup I would try that as well. Also inside and outside dining, outside is covered so it avoids the rain in the summer. Overall a definite recommendation to try this place. read more
