The restaurant serves moldy food. The food was delicious... in the dark. However, I found mold when I ate them the next day during daylight. I have reported it to the health department. I will be requesting for a refund. read more

Solid taco spot that just opened a few weeks ago, looks like the are from LA area and making their way to the AV which is good because other taco spots have went down hill in last few years. I tried asada carnitas and Pastor, I have to say my favorite was the pastor I don't care for the carnitas. Overall I will be back and recommend to try. read more

This is my FAVORITE taco spot and surprised it's not busier as it should be. I just moved to the AV from LA and THIS has been my families taco spot for decades and was so ecstatic to find a little piece of home HERE. Was excited to try this new place after reading all the great reviews and was unfortunately very disappointed. I ordered asada, al pastor, and carnitas tacos to try them all. The asada is not authentic asada meat, seems like they're trying to pass cheaper slab meat for asada. The al pastor taco was more like a stew? I have never had such an odd al pastor taco before, maybe this is a unique take on al pastor by them but trust me - it is not good. Lastly the carnitas tacos was just awful; the meat looked old and smelled foul. I saw them preparing tortillas in the back so I can vouch that those were fresh but all the meats definitely were not and at least like a week old. Maybe it was the day I went, but I definitely wouldn't even want to try it again in fear that I would get sick. Easily the worst tacos I've ever had in my entire life. I don't need to search anymore. I found the place that serves them everybody. I ordered 3 different types of meat in the tacos and all of them were the same shade of gray. It was absolutely disgusting. Even if the meat was killed sometime this year, they cooked it to complete dryness and 4/10 tacos had tendons in them. Imagine trying to bite down into a nice soft taco and instead of almost chip a tooth off of mystery meat. Yum! But no its completely inedible and it makes me sick to think about. And to think they're selling tacos a quarter more each than the best places to get tacos makes me wonder what is going through their brains. Some person said they're from LA but what an insult to LA that is. What kind of trash can have you been eating out of to think0 they serve this stuff down in LA man this place is terrible. Since we move to Palmdale a year ago we have not been able to find a good burrito spot we have tried allot of places out here but never did it for us. until we found viva tacos la Estrella let me just say it's a taste of home away from home. Sorry to disappoint but the only good thing about this place are the salsas. The red and the green are good, I tried the tacos al pastor and the meat was cold and old. You can taste how old that meat is, most likely a week old, no joke. The people that work there are really nice and welcoming but thats about it. My husband ordered carnitas and asada, he was really disappointed and didn't eat the carnitas at all. He said the same thing, "tastes like if the meat was re cooked from days old". Well this place was recommended to me by my husbands lover! Man she doesn't like me because it really wasn't as good as it was made out to be. I read the reviews and thought ok let me check it out! Well I ordered the carne asada burrito and tacos. Well it wasn't that great lil dry needed to add salt and man are they stingy with the chips salsa . Most Mexican restaurants have a salsa bar to self serve not this one you have to ask for everything. Over all the staff is friendly and the place is clean. I usually always receive excellent customer service when I come here however, I asked very nicely if I could get 5 of the red sauce & 5 of the green (because I ordered a lot of food for my family & I) and the cashier said I have to pay for it which is fine! So I payed for it but as I was doing so, the woman with the blonde curly hair(I think she's the manager, I'm not sure) said "Why do you need so many salsas, girl?". The tacos were very salty. I don't like it when they depend more on using a ton of salt to make the food taste decent. The rice and beans just did not look and taste right at all. The only good thing about the food was the shrimp cocktail. It tasted good and fresh. But I would think that is the restaurant is name Tacos La Estrella their specialty should be tacos but they end up making a seafood item better. I feel in my OPINION that the food is way over priced for what you get. We decided to give it a try but as a group we all regretted coming here. EXCEPT those of us who ate a shrimp cocktail. Now it is not the best cocktail in the world but it's very good. I know they need to make a profit but they are going for squeezing as much money out of you as possible. Charging almost $5.00 for guacamole, cabbage and onions is insane and wrong. You would expect this should be included and not get charged extra for it. If you are going to get charged extra certainly should not be charged almost $5.00 extra. Stay away from the salty tacos unless of course you like your tacos extra salty. Then by all means get the tacos. Just have your high blood pressure medication handy. Overall not satisfied. Won't be coming back again anytime soon. Look somewhere else for tacos. Shrimp tacos are pretty good. They add a good amount of shrimp. Al pastor didn't really taste like it but it was still really good. And they add a lot of meat to the tacos. Definitely worth stopping by for something quick. And they are easy going people. Definitely going to stop by and try the asada fries. read more

Tacos La Estrella is by far the best to go to for tacos and burritos!! They come from L.A specifically highland park. This was our go to spot when we lived in Highland Park and we are beyond excited that we don't have to drive down to LA for some bomb ass salsa, excellent customer service but most of all some bomb savory Mexican food. This is by far the worst La Estrella my husband and I have visited. We have been to the Pasadena and Duarte locations and have never had a complaint. Unfortunately, the Palmdale location is TERRIBLE! The first time we visited two weeks ago we purchased $52.00 worth of food and were offered three salsa. When we requested more, the staff rudely told us that we would have to purchase salsa. After explaining that we had never had to at any of the other locations, he shrugged his shoulders and said it was their policy. We made it home to find dry old carne asada meat in the tacos and completely dry asada fries (even after requesting extra cheese and paying for it). What a disappointment! Today, my husband decided to give them another shot.... and again, another huge disappointment! Argumentative staff and dried out meat! Looks like we will be going to Pasadena the next time we want tacos or asada fries. read more

The taste is a bit weird. Carnitas taco was super dry. Lengua taco was off. Carne asada was ok. The al pastor burrito had a weird taste too. I don't know. Perhaps my taste is geared more towards San Diego Mexican food. I went because of the great reviews but was sorely disappointed. read more

We love this place the carne asada tacos have so much flavor and the salsa verde is very flavorful. The meat has virtually no grizzle which is a plus for street tacos!!! I would recommend this place to anybody that likes "good" food without all the fatty crap!! read more
