I have only eaten here once but they recently built a new outdoor area that is super nice so I try to come often for the best micheladas I've ever had. It's not far from my house so I walk my dog & stop in occasionally for a beverage & they don't mind my well behaved dog is with me. It's enclosed & they have a grassy yard area on one side so it's perfect. They do have chips & salsa & like I said the best micheladas I've ever had. My stomach is fighting me as I type this. I usually get Barbacoa & Carne Asada tacos when I go to authentic Jalisco places to compare - Well, these are at the bottom of the list. Actually, they didn't even make it on. The Barbacoa was SO fatty .. I mean literally NO meat. The steak was dry and had absolutely no flavor. We love this place. Order JT's tacos. Grilled street tacos with meat of your choosing, cheese, avocado, onion and lime. The TAMALES! We just get them by the dozen. I am a Tamale junkie. First time here..was hoping to find a diamond in the rough. I had just street tacos (pollo and asada) and horchata. The horchata was seriously disappointing. Not fresh or good. Had an after taste like it was a powdered mix. The tacos were ' ok' but not great. I didn't even like the green salsa. The guacamole was decent but that was the only item I experienced that I liked. We discovered this place through my family last Christmas. My older brother brought tamales from here. They were delicious! Devon and I went out to El Reno to see my mom and we're getting hungry when we left and decided to stop by and grab some tamales and a couple of tacos to take home. We ordered two dozen tamales and two carnitas tacos. The tacos didn't make it Yukon and rival ANY street tacos from any of the taco trucks and taquerias here in OKC. Devon and I visit a lot of taquerias and taco trucks so for us to make that statement it's a valid comparison. The tamales didn't last very long after we got home. As Devon would say "they're both magical and life changing". If you find yourself out in El Reno and want something that's not a onion fried burger that puts Tucker's to shame (sorry Tucker's I love ya but I grew up on the originals) give Tacos Jalisco a try. Wow a local restaurant in El Reno that is not a onion burger joint! Though I've only been in once I was surprised by the clean, open, and welcoming environment. The tacos are good and reasonably priced. The pickled carrots, jalepenos, and onions are fresh and tasty! I'm also fond of the red and green salsas. Come check this place out if you are ever in El Reno. Please encourage the owner to open up their wifi to their patrons. This place has gone down hill badly. It used to be a great place but the last time I came here it was awful. I ordered a cheese enchilada and when I got it there was no cheese in it. I never look forward to the trip to, as I call it: "Hell Reno". It's definitely not the company -- I know a lot of people who have to say they love their in-laws, but I honestly do. Plus, as a bonus, 9 times out of 10, they feed me, which is a bonus because the cooking is amazing and it's not like El Reno is right around the corner from us in our comfortable bubble that is The Paseo, which we only leave under duress. That said -- on Christmas, shunning the traditional turkey + stuffing fare, we had Mexican, and my brother in law brought the only food not made at the house in the form of several dozen steaming tamales from a little joint down the street in downtown El Reno. Whoa. Just ... whoa. And at that point they had been picked up days prior, frozen and reheated. They were still mind-blowingly good. Moist, perfectly seasoned and hand made. We bought a car on Friday (Hello non-sequitur! Bear with: it'll all come together. Anxious to take her out on the highway, and wanting to show her off to the mom-in-law, we opened her up on I-40 and WHOOOOOO! What a drive! I will be the one making the offer to drive anyone anywhere especially if it involves highways. For the curious: it's a VW Passat V6 Turbo. That "turbo" part is NO LIE. SO! We figured the trip was a great excuse to grab fresh tamales from Tacos Jalisco, as this is my brother-in-law's S.O.P. After this, I don't know why anyone would not make the 45-minute jaunt EVERY DAY. The exterior is nice, and inside is clean with no frills. You can tell they are in the business of delicious food. I'm great with that. The lady at the counter took our order and promptly got to packing it up -- we asked for the tamales warmed, I'm not sure how they come otherwise? But a dozen ($17) comes packed in a gallon ziploc within a to-go container. We also picked up two carnitas tacos ($1.49 ea) for the drive home, just to take the edge off. I go from zero to "hangry" with my diabetes, so that was just enough to bring me back to normal. These tacos, Oh. My. Goodness. We love and cherish our little Taqueria El Dolar on 10th & N. May. I give their tacos a 10/10 consistently. But, WOW, Jalisco's were fresh, juicy and incredibly flavorful. They verge on an 11/10, and I am more than willing to do some more delicious research. They were accompanied by a bag of warmed, fresh chips and an incredible selection of salsas - most of which I was wise enough to give the smallest of tries -- the green had a bit of a kick (seriously, y'all would probably handle all of them just fine, I admit I am the quintessential pasty girl when it comes to salsa: a WIMP.) The orange-ish one had more than a kick from the smell, and the redder of the lot had just enough to keep my interest - it was just that side of tomato sauce, in other words. :) I WAS starving, but managed to eat just a few and my taco (did I mention the mouth-watering taco? Jeez, it was good!) We got them home, and after a 30-45 minute drive they were still piping hot, which means they might have been nuclear when we left the restaurant. We threw them on a platter and proceeded to feast. It was only through force of will that we managed to save a few for lunch/snack the next day. So, if you find yourself in El Reno, or heck - feel like an adventure, definitely pick up some tamales at Tacos Jalisco and enjoy! If you're feeling particularly magnanimous, bring them to your next potluck or home for dinner. I'm not saying they're life-changing. Okay. Yeah, they are. Definitely can't wait to try more on the menu, but don't know if I will ever stray from the beloved tamales long enough to do it! Service, cleanliness and amazing, fresh Latin food - well, it's like they knew I was coming. :) Can't wait for my next trip to see the in-laws, er, I mean ... well, you know what I mean. read more

My husband and I frequent this place and are satisfied every time! The employees are friendly, the environment is clean and the food is great! We have dined in and ordered to go, I prefer dine in so that I can partake in their 4 different delicious sauces. My favorite is ground beef crispy tacos and guacamole and his favorite is the Asada Torta and the tamales. I've also had enchiladas and barbacoa tacos which were great as well. read more

We happened to be in El Reno on business, when we passed by this place. We were meeting family for dinner a little later, so a quick snack was all that we had in mind. My daughter ordered a single tamale and I ordered a Grande burrito, expecting the Tex-Mex items that we normally received when we ordered these items at other places. When our food arrived, we were very pleasantly surprised. The ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. In fact, the food was so good, and the staff so friendly, that we almost considered risking the wrath of our family in order to sit and enjoy a full meal. This is hands down the best taqueria in town. They have one of the best salsas I have ever eaten. The tacos are authentic so don't come expecting Tex-Mex. be brave and try the tripas or lengua tacos. My favorite taco is the barbacoa. You won't be disappointed with the nachos or taco salad either. The burritos are big and rather filling.
