Just do yourself a favor if you're anywhere near Ensenada or Valle de Guadalupe: stop at this little street stand for their fish and shrimp tacos. Hands down the best fish tacos I've ever had. I'm already annoyed knowing nothing back home is going to compare. The fish is fried PERFECTLY *drool* It's a true street setup, so grab a stack of napkins and eat in your car like a normal, happy mess. Tip: pick up some ice-cold drinks to go with it. Next time I'm grabbing an iced latte before this taco stop, seems like the right kind of life choice to counteract the ensuing food coma

The best fish tacos! Totally worth the walk to get here!!! I was so excited to try this place while I was in Ensenada. Glad I came super early before it got packed! We were one of the first people and the fish and shrimp taco was so fresh and delicious! I love the condiments bar so you can top it with whatever you want. Service was fast and the prices were a steal if you convert to US dollars! I highly highly recommend!!!

Another famous fish taco place in Ensenada. It's a food stand so be prepared to stand if you go when it's busy. It was a bit of a walk from the cruise port - about 30 minutes. The walk is also off the touristy path and can seem a little sketchy. Food wise, I had a fish and a shrimp taco. They come as is (tortilla and protein) and you add the condiments yourself. There's a good selection of Lettace, tomatoes, onions, and various salsas & hot sauces. Both are nicely battered and good size portions. Personally I liked the shrimp better than the fish. Overall an okay place for fish tacos. However it wasn't worth the walk for me. There are other places that are just as good or better with less of a walk. Tacos Lucero is usually where I would go.

Super highly recommended so we ubered there and were a little disappointed. The tacos were okay the fish were better than the shrimp. My husband really liked both. They are a small taco stand with two small tables to sit so be prepared to wait to sit or eat them standing up.

Best tacos in Ensenada! Please attach a little further from the cruise port and visit this taco stand! They have the best fish & shrimp tacos! You order your tacos which come with fresh hand made tortillas and then you dress them up how you want, condiments are laid out for you with different salsas and sauces. Services is quick, but this is a legit taco stand. There's 3 tables with chairs available, first come first serve. A lot of people showed up after we did and everyone was standing eating their tacos. Really cheap too! I'mir group ordered 12 tacos, a can drink & horchata, came out to about $25! They take Apple Pay which makes it so much easier because they take pesos. Definitely a must stop when you're in Ensenada! 10/10 recommend!

Port day in Ensenada from our cruise ship and didn't make any plans. We were off the boat early (845/9) and most of the places near the port were still closed so we made the 20 minute walk to this little taco stand since it was open, and it did NOT disappoint! Some of the roads were a little dicey so watch your step. The shrimp and fish tacos were delicious and lightly crispy!! Really flavorful and the salsa and sauces were super tasty as well. Tacos were reasonably priced, I think about $2 per taco. There's not much seating but there were a few stools we used to perch on. If you're looking for delicious fish tacos, highly recommend!

This is supposedly the home of the Baja taco. We stopped in and tried a couple. We were warned ahead of time that the various salsa were quite hot. We opted for the chipotle cream. The fish was very mild with a thin coating. We felt that the Salsa overwhelmed the flavor of the fish. It has a small number of tables and many of us ate on our feet. The tacos were messy enough that that made it pretty messy to eat and keep clean.

Super popular spot and there's always a line. It does move fast and I really enjoyed the chipotle cream sauce they had. You put all the fixings there yourself. Cheap and good fish and shrimp tacos- what more can you ask for!

Netflix and thrill! World famous fish taco stand as seen on the taco chronicles does not disappoint! Every time we visit Ensenada this is a must stop several times on our trip because the fish tacos are unlike anything you have tried. So simple and authentic yet so elegant and masterful in how the friendly folks in this small taco stand make beer battered fish and shrimp tacos. The service is great and there is always a full stand and sometimes a line to order these delicious tacos. You have your choice of either fish or shrimp tacos and can top them off with all the fixings from pico, cabbage to your favorite choice of green or red salsa and chipotle dressing. Sometimes I wish I had 2 stomachs because I always end up eating at least 6 or more of these tacos. They are generously portioned and surprisingly great priced. I was able to feed my entire family and we gorged on as many as our stomachs can handle and only paid about $30 which included a fresh Jamaica or bottled coke. The people who come to this stand from the workers to the locals are always live and friendly and know where to get the good grub. Nothing like stand ordering your tacos while watching the traffic okay this intersection with the lovely ocean breeze of Ensenada.

After coming down to Ensenada several times, I can safely say this is the it spot to get fish tacos. Don't be alarmed by the truck, the open air veggies or salsas. You know you're getting Montezuma's revenge anyway you know you want to eat great food first! But seriously though this is just such an iconic spot, if you see locals waiting in line, you know it must be good. We got ours to-go and ate in our car but you can always squat on the curb if you don't mind your butt getting dirty!

These are the classic fish tacos in all of Baja. Simply put this is a must have when your in Ensenada. They have 2 options: Fish and Shrimp. Batter is perfect and lots of options to add to your tacos. Prices are cheap; $35 pesos a taco.

We stopped here after asking a local for fish tacos recomendations while we stopped while on a cruise. You'll be walking the opposite direction where majority of the people walk while leaving the cruise port. All that to say, the tacos are DELICIOUS and worth the walk. It was probably around 15/20 minute walk. Service was good. This is outdoors and minimal seating, most people were standing to eat as I did as well. Definitely worth the stop. They do take card here.

    Dominique N.

Tacos Fénix is the kind of spot you're glad you walked a little extra to find. It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the cruise docking port, and honestly, that walk makes it feel like you're leaving the tourist strip and stepping into the real Ensenada. The crowd here was mostly locals, which is always the best sign you've landed somewhere legit. No frills, no hype -- just great tacos served fast and fresh. The tortillas deserve their own shoutout: soft, warm, and clearly made with care. They set the stage for perfectly crispy fish, fresh toppings, and salsas that bring everything together. This place isn't fancy, but it doesn't need to be. It's the kind of hidden gem you remember long after the cruise is over.

We got beef asada and fried fish pescado. I believe it was only $2.50 per taco so not the cheapest but definitely by far the most affordable and yummy in the touristy area. It's a perfect walkable distance from the cruise port. You can pay USD cash and it shows on their payment terminal the conversion. I don't know how to double check if the conversion was 100% accurate but just from a little google go the current conversion and counting out how many tacos we ordered, everything seemed to check out!! They have tables for you to sit at inside but open facing so you're covered from the sun/rain. It comes with 3 different salsas, bowl of limes, and my favorite part is the grilled jalapeño and green onions - omg so good! I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in town. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the Asada just needed more flavor and not as cooked. I prefer a juicy medium Asada but I know that that's not how it's always eaten, just wish there was more flavor. Coming from Arizona I fortunately get to eat a lot of amazing Mexican food!

But figured I needed a better way to eat it while visiting Ensenada again with my wife. So this time, went to the nearby sister restaurant, Sabina. It's named for the owner of the original food stand, and there are a lot of pictures of her with other celebrities who appreciated her talent in creating seafood combinations. The Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant is within walking distance from the cruise port, and is located in an area with a lot of other restaurants and shops. We came there soon after it opened around 10 am, and had the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We showed that we were coming from California, by choosing indoor seating. We were given colorful menus and suggestions. We also got complementary chips and salsa, with 4 different varieties of her famous salsas being served. I tried all four of them, and two of them were way too hot, even in moderation. I did really like the green salsa, which tasted more like a simple guacamole. It also came with thinly slices of lime...each small slice producing so much more juice than any lime we get in California. My wife doesn't like raw seafood, so chose garlic shrimp (Caramones al Mojo de Ajo for Mex$405). There were plenty of jumbo headless, shell-on white shrimp, with the butter sauce being very light and not too garlicky. It came with a very good rice pilaf and sauteed vegetables (mostly squash which neither of us are a fan of). I went with 3 choices from the 5 selection 'Champion' list: 1. Erizo con Almeja (Sea Urchin with Clam for Mex$230) - winner of LA Street Food Fest 2011 for Best Original Showmanship 2. Caracol con Lajas de Caracol (Mixed Ceviche with Sea Snail for Mex$209) - winner of LA Street Food Fest 2012 for Best in Show 3. Singapur (Mex$209) - winner of LA Street Food Fest 2013 for unknown category). All three were piled high with fresh seafood, embellished with perfectly ripe avocado slices. None of them needed additional salsa, but adding a squeeze of lime enhanced. My favorite was the Singapore and would try the other two tostadas on the winners list the next time. The best way would be to order all the tostadas and split amongst a group of 4 or 5 friends (there are 6 other special tostadas and you can also create your own with the fresh seafood ingredients). Got two bottles of water (Mex$75 each...not cheap) and a local beer (Vera Niega Mexican Ale, a bottle being Mex$110) that was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, with multiple servers (Horacio and Antonio) attending to us, all trying to make sure we had a good time. Credit cards are accepted, using a modern tableside POS, and I was happy to pay a gratuity over what is customary. Bathrooms are modern, with individual stalls (most of them gender neutral) all sharing a nice common set of sinks. My wife and I left in fine spirits and it was beginning to fill up more as we left (all dining al fresco, of course). Dining at the nearby original food cart is worth the initial experience, but there is something to having food this good in a sit-down restaurant. Sabina is that place.
