So good! Good service Good Food Clean place Everything was delicious. We got ostiones, tacos de pescado, tacos de camarón, pescado frito y una campechana. Everything was really good. Good flavor, good servings.
Delectably fried fish and shrimp tacos, the batter itself is just this delicious umami bomb and if you pour just a bit of white sauce, add some cabbage and pico they have on the table, lime, it's just perfect. There's a wonderfully sweet woman frying up these treats, and in her downtime de shelling fresh shrimp. You also get a side of fried tortillas to eat with whichever side on the table you want. Open air place both upper and lower levels are nice! Restroom on the second floor. Service is great (I mean the staff are standing right near you). They do good food right, glad my dad ventured to find this place.
On our first visit to Ensenada (via cruise ship) I didn't find much to make me want to get off the ship. I did some prep work for this trip and found several food spots I wanted to check out. Tacos Lucero was definitely worth a visit. Family owned by some very nice people. I was there around 10 am for my breakfast fish taco. She included a small basket of fried chips with several different salsas to dip them in. The fish taco was presented on a corn tortilla and all the fixings were at the table. As we said in Miss Salazar's Spanish class, "muy bueno". All that and a Mexican bottle of Coke for only $4.00. To find your way, walk from the cruise ship pier nearly to the end of the Ensenada Port. Walk through the last arched opening to the Mercado Negro. Continue walking past all the fish merchants and you will see Tacos Lucero on your right.
I watch a lot of foodies on YouTube and one of them is Bill and Lisa. I saw that they went to Ensenada just a few months before me and mentioned they were regulars of Tacos Lucero. After seeing their review, I knew that I had to check out Tacos Lucero. There is a few tables down below but don't fret, there is plenty of seating as they have tables and chairs on their second level! We ordered fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and tacos with Asada (steak). I love how they put your tacos together in the tortillas and let you put the toppings on yourself. The shrimp and tacos were perfectly battered, fried to a crisp, and not oily at all! Stuffed these bad boys with cabbage, some sort of creamy type of sauce, and pico de gallo.. All the flavors just meshed well together and they were roughly about $2 per taco. Hubby isn't a seafood lover but very well loved the Asada as it was tender and seasoned really well! We met the owner who was quite nice and she knows everyone has come here from word of mouth from Bill and Lisa. I'm glad she's getting the business as the food is delicious and affordable. Everyone is so nice and helpful here. We don't need the singers nor the partying but just some good Mexican food. Tacos Lucero does not disappoint. Check them out if you're ever in the area.
The fish and shrimp tacos here are incredibly delicious, and the beer is both affordable and ice-cold. This cozy open-air restaurant is small but exceptionally clean and comfortable--definitely a step up from eating on a street corner. Plus, the service is outstanding! My family has been coming here for the past 10 cruises during our cruise trips , and my daughter absolutely loves the shrimp tacos and the selection of spicy salsa s along with the freshest chips!! Great ambiance and a cool way to spend an hour or however long you want with locals........If you have time try the smoked tuna fillets in the fish Markey as well!
We discovered this restaurant last year while visiting Ensenada on a cruise ship. Their fish tacos are the best! We have been there every single time we've visited Ensenada (which is quite often). We've taken friends with us, as well as staff from the Navigator of the Seas. Everyone loves their food. It is a family-owned restaurant, and their service is fantastic. We went for a snack yesterday, and we sat upstairs for the first time. The view is great. They are located right by the fish market. It's about a 10 minute walk from where the cruise ships dock. Can't wait to go back!
Super friendly homemade vibe Woman who owns the place is cooking and she is glorious The food comes out fast and fresh very tasty has that authentic feel you're looking for while maintaining cleanliness I had the shrimp tacos + chicken+ steak. All covered in every ingredient I could find They had a large variety of hot sauces all with different flavors and intensities. I'm in Mexico every few months and I will definitely be coming here every trip I also had this fried fish. Which was totally not something I would normally order but it blew my mind. That mixed with a red Tecate and I was in heaven
Food was delish. Loved the taco enchilado!!! We ordered like 4 of them. Beers. And the people were so kind. Delish salsas out on table. We will be back! Walked over from the cruise ship.
Best fried fish and shrimp tacos I've ever had. This was our first stop as we had heard so many good things about this place on YouTube. The service was great, very accommodating. The cook at the time her name is Chayo,, she served us our tacos and we put our own toppings from the table. So good! Will be coming back to Ensenada just for these tacos.
SoThis was easily my favorite place to eat in Mexico during my time there. I love seafood in general, so this was right up my alley. We ordered the fried rockfish, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos. The rockfish was perfectly fried on the outside and still really soft and moist on the inside. The shrimp tasted like it was butterflied open before being battered and fried, and I couldn't get enough of it. When people say food is so soft and delicious that it melts in your mouth, this is the place they're taking about. The salsas were the perfect complement, depending on whether you wanted mild or spicy flavors. The side vegetables were fresh as well. The employees were really friendly and attentive. The noise level is fine. You're able to have a room level conversation with your group and it's still fine even though the place is next to a fish market and a general shopping center. I'm really glad I remembered this place. I wanted to write a review for here, but couldn't remember the place. I was lucky because I was going through my phone and saw I happened to take a picture of the restaurant's sign. This place deserves 10000000 stars. I definitely would have to come back here if I'm ever back in Ensenada again.
Really Good seafood. Highly recommend. And inexpensive. If your in Ensenada you have to try them out.
Had such a great experience here at Tacos Lucero. Food was cooked to order and service was on point. We went to the fish market next door and picked what we wanted them yo cook for us. Awesome!

We stopped in Ensenada during a cruise. I researched where the best authentic baja tacos were and Tacos Lucero came up. It was a very short walk from the boat. The people working were very kind, attentive, and fun. The cook had such an amazing personality! The food came out quick and was able to order more without waiting. They brought out freshly fried tortillas to snack on with salsa. There were salsas already out on the table, all were delicious. I ordered a margarita and a shrimp taco. The taco was so good that I ordered another as soon as I finished eating it. My friend had a bottled mineral water and a fish taco. She ordered a shrimp taco after and said it was delicious but the fish was even better. The tacos are traditional baja style beer battered fish and shrimp. They come on flour tortillas but I requested corn for mine. The prices were phenomenal for what we got! 35 pesos ($2) for shrimp tacos, 45 pesos ($2.60) for fish tacos, 160 pesos ($9.30) for margaritas! The only reason I took one star off has nothing to do with the service or taste of the food. There were people constantly come up trying to sell things or beg for money. It's difficult to enjoy a meal while being bothered like that. Also, the salsas are just left on the table for the next person who sits down. Back home theres no way I would even touch it. I ate it of course and loved it, but it still kinda threw me off. The location is right next to the fish market in an alley. It was kind of a scummy looking area, but still worth it. The staff was great. The cooks know what they're doing. All the salsas, crema, toppings, limes are all on the table. Everything was so fresh. The tacos were cooked to perfection and so crispy. Loved it and it's close to the mercado. read more

I have to visit this place every time I go to Ensenada. The owner is super nice and with the little bit of Spanish I know and the little bit of English she knows, we communicate perfectly. We ordered the 2 fish tacos, 2 shrimp tacos, a Modelo and a humongous Corona. She ran out of Modelo, so she gave me the Corona instead. I'm not a big Corona fan, but it tastes different in Mexico. The fish tacos were fried to perfection. The batter was light and the fish was flakey and great tasting. The shrimps were fried in the same type of batter and plump and juicy. All tacos were served with no condiments because all the condiments are on the table. 5 different types of salsa with all different heat levels, sour cream, cabbage, regular and pickled onions and cilantro. The whole bill was $5 USD and some change, about $100 pesos. She does accept USD, but it seems we get a better deal with pesos all over Ensenada. read more
Super delicious fish and shrimp tacos here and beer is cheap and cold. The open air restaurant is small but very clean and comfortable. It beats standing on a street corner. On top of that, service is super friendly. The server and owner might not speak a lot of English, but they're fully competent in great customer service. read more

I usually have lots to say. But on this one we will keep it short. We got a tip from watching Bill and Lisa on YouTube. The showed a little place they liked to visit. It didn't look like much but it was located in the fish market area. We decided that we would give it a shot. It has now been 3 trips and we stop by for a vist each time. The ladies are very nice and friendly. The fish tacos are delicious. I also suggest you try the shrimp taco. It was my favorite. The shrimp was plump and cooked to perfection. If you need help getting to the shop. Just ask someone how to find the fish market. Once you are there, look for the big blue building. Get ready for some yummy food. You will not be disappointed that you ended up here. We will diffently be back soon. Thanks for the great food and wonderful fish market experience. read more

This a review for both the numerous fish monger at the market and the no name colocated restaurants. Fresh seafood at very comparatively cheap prices. How cheap? Dozen oysters for $3.50(US). I didn't even bother to barter. A whole fish for less than $3(US) I took my purchases across the alley had had them prepared them for $10. They provided the side dishes along with my very nicely cooked to order fish snd oysters. This a great off the tourist path fir local food. read more
