Great Trompo Tacos. If you like tacos, and you have never tried Trompo, you should give them a try. Remember, Trompo IS NOT the same as pastor. Trompo is mostly found in the Monterrey area, while Pastor is what you find everywhere else in Mexico. They are both pork, and they look similar, but once you try trompo, you will know the difference in flavor. Bisteck tacos are OK, they are not bad, but definitely Trompo is their sweet spot. Green salsa is really good, but it is really spicy, so be cautios. They only accept cash, so make sure you stop by th ATM, before enjoying some delicious trompo tacos.

Seen on Facebook had to try and was not disappointed!!!! Bring cash as its cash only!!!!

We looked up family style chicken so we could have chicken and some sides and be able to sit down and eat and we stumbled upon Tumble 22. Let me tell you we were not disappointed. It's here in the Heights off of Houston Avenue and Washington. And we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server Zeid (so?!) brought our new little server in training Johan and once we went over the menu and decided what we wanted to do for appetizers we ordered the heavenly deviled eggs. Do not pass that up - they are heavenly. The devil part is so good and the bacon on top absolutely delicious. And they came out right away. So we ordered the 1/2 mix. That came with a large breast and thigh and a drumstick and a wing. You get two sides with it which we ordered the collard greens and the mac & cheese. Then it came with cute little bread and butter pickles stuck on top of it. That chicken was so crispy and so hot because it came right out of the fire. And the collard greens were very good. They had turkey in them and just all kinds of stuff. The mac & cheese was really creamy very good. And it was enough for both of us to share. And it was only $17. I could not believe it. We like to always try a little bit of everything. So there are different levels of heat you can get on your chicken and we just got the regular traditional. But next time I think we're gonna try the one up with the little jalapeño in it. So then for dessert, my husband got the chocolate pecan toffee pie. And it is Chuck full of pecans and toffee and chocolate in there. It came out cold and it was delicious. I got the peanut butter chocolate mousse pie. But I got that to go, so I'll let you know later how that is, but it looked delicious. So we had a lemonade which was freshly made and tea and that large meal of chicken and sides and two desserts and our appetizer and it was only $45. . I'll tell you what if you want to have a great meal not expensive they've got kids menus that are a lot less because kids tend to waste so they're small enough that I think my grandkids would eat them with no problem. But the chicken was really good. We will definitely be back. Check them out and tell them Miss Lou sent you

Coleslaw was nice and crunchy, and that frozen Big Larry margarita goes down easy. Fun fact, they tumble the chicken 22 times. Kind of quirky, but it works. Staff were quick and friendly. My wife raved about it to our son then took him to their other location a week later. She said it had the exact same quality and vibe. We'll be back to both locations!

Nice cozy place, perfect setting for fried chicken. I am sure they had other stuff, but that was the mission for this visit. Started with fried pickle spears, probably the best I have ever had, no joke. Perfect coating, taste and preparation. I like the spears vs the chips. Had the special which was to legs and two thighs for the price of the 3 pc dark. Beans and slaw. Ok, the chicken was great, moist, seasoned, very well cooked. I will go out of my way to go here for the chicken. Beans, canned with a little flavor added, nothing to brag about the slaw was pretty good. The fries on my friend's plate looked great. Perfect. We got here at about 1145, the place was busy. By 1215, it was packed, but they move people through and do a booming take out. Try it, you will like it. It satisfied my fried chicken desire and. Am set for a bit, but still want to go get more!!

I enjoyed their fried chicken, which for around $12, came with a thigh and leg, along with ample amounts of coleslaw and fried okra. Even I, as a voracious eater, could not finish all the sides. The chicken itself was beautifully fried in peanut oil, and truly one of the best, juiciest, fried chicken pieces I have ever had. This place is an example of simplicity at its finest. If you are in Houston and craving some down to earth fried chicken, Gus's is the place to go!

She informed me that each cocktail was specially crafted by the "head bartender" and even let me try some samples. I believe at that time, I tried the Loaded Mashed Potato Balls and they were delicious/unique. This time around, I ordered the chicken Alfredo via DoorDash and had it delivered to my job. I can confidently say that my order was freshly made and was still indeed warm when it arrived. The sauce was nice and creamy and paired well with the fettuccine noodles and diced grilled chicken. The portion of the pasta was satisfying and was enough for me to eat about 4 servings from it. The ambiance of the restaurant is very lowkey and chill but nicely decorated and well lit. I would consider this restaurant and specifically this location a hidden gem.

This latest instance was a missing item in my Uber Eats order (a side that is included and not billed separately so Uber cannot refund), and I called the restaurant. At least an apology would've been nice. Oh well I have no problem finding a new place to patronize.
