Been going here over 20 years literally.... The Nachos are a Valley trademark. My Favorite order is getting the Veggie Nachos and add Asada to them (no laughs), its a tower of goodness packed on to you plate. Now I'm no vegetarian by far but if you order this way you get all the extra goodies like lettuce avocado, tomatoes, beans , and rice on top of the already delicious Charlies Nachos. This is the WORST mexican i've ever had. quesadillas de carne asada were so DRY they definitely needed some guacamole and sour cream.. but they DIDNT EVEN HAVE GUACAMOLE like what kind of mexican restaurant doesn't have guacamole?! they give you TWO thin slices of avocado for 5 slices of quesadillas!!! and everything is on the side, they don't put the items you want inside your quesadilla. literally so disappointed, i couldn't even finish my meal because of how DRY it was. save your money and go somewhere else that's worthy of your tastebuds. read more

Came in for the carne asada fries and was not disappointed (also ordered nachos, tacos & a torta to go). They were so delicious and the fries were steak cut fries which were so nice and crispy it was such a great surprise. Very nice portion size but parking is a bit of a challenge. The Nachos!!!! My brother used to work down the street from this place, I used to love meeting him for lunch, or picking him up. Just so I could go to Charlie's. Charlie's is a really popular Mexican food restaurant, they have alot of things on their menu. They have tacos burritos, tortas. But being completly honest there are only two things on the menu that you should ever order. Charlie's nachos, and Charlie's fries. They're pretty much the same dish, just swapped the food part out. You have your chips, asada, and a sh#t load of cheese. The best part is when you're done there's a ton of cheese, and meat left over on the bottom. The only downside is the parking there's never any parking. They have simple, but delicious food, this is a must try in my opinion. read more

Go-to taco place because its delicious and a short drive away. Food: Not the best tacos ever but they are quite delicious and being so close, Tacos Charly does a good job of satisfying any taco cravings. Also did wanted to try the nacho fries but its hard to go away from my usual order. I always get al pastor, it tastes so good here and has always been consistent. Occasionally I will get lingua but I feel like they never give you enough of the meat with that one. The salsas are good here too, mix the green with the red and boom, it ties the taco together nicely. The green adds a nice little kick to it. Service: Always called in my order so it was a quick in and out. It does sometimes get crazy crowded, especially on week nights. Location: Across the street from Richie Valens park. Been coming here since I was a child at Telfair Elementary in 90s. If parking were not an issue, I would go every weekend. Has been getting more pricey, but goodness is still there. Recommend ordering by phone since it can take a while when it gets busy. Burritos de al pastor and Charly Nachos are the best in the Valley area. Everyone knows that. Came here to try some tacos de asada. I try tacos everywhere and have to say this place has some of the worst customer service. I received only 3 tacos with the fourth tortilla missing the meat. Been coming here for over 25 years. Their nachos are still my favorite thing on the menu and delicious. Their tacos and burritos are decent. The rest of the menu items are decent too but not the best. Service never comes with a smile but the cooks try their best to hurry up. Overall, this place is still worth trying out. It's all about the Al Pastor tacos here! The only other better Al Pastor taco is the taco truck parked on Nordhoff and Lemona in North Hills. I didn't like the nachos here despite the good reviews on them. The nachos were too cheesy with that 7-11 type of cheese and drowning. I will come back for more Al Pastor tacos though. I ve definately had better and more flavorful al pastor meat with a lot more spices and even color; the salsa was bland and the mayo overtook any other trace of any flavor. A friend told me this place had the best nachos. So naturally when I was in the area I had to stop by and try them. I ordered nachos with carne asada. It came with chips, cheese (both shredded and melted), sour cream, carne asada and beans. Not sure if I came on a bad day but I wasn't impressed with these particular nachos. I decided to try a new place where they made nacho fries and this place was at the top of the list on Yelp. I get there and order nacho fries and a quesadilla de asada. The place was rather foggy I figured it's because of all the grilling and the smoke was circulating the place. It was irritating my airway which was already sort've blocked because i'm slightly sick. They also only accept cash only which is a huge inconvenience for me since I always pay with my card. Another con was the parking lot. It is so unbelievably tiny made it difficult to park. The food was good, really good. The only reason it's getting 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the fog, cash only, and small parking lot. Other than that the food is pretty good. read more

Great menu. I love their Lengua burrito. I get if with just meat, cilantro, onions and chili. It is stuffed with luscious pieces of diced lengua. I am totally addicted to this burrito and have to drop by several times a month to get my fix. I like that the condiment bar is all you want. Small but fresh and tasty. Hole in the wall joint with so-so food..Parking was horrible when my husband and I went. There's about 6-7 tables, little room to move around. If there's lines, you have people's butts in your face while you're eating. We ordered a carne asada burrito and nachos. Carne asada burrito was mehhh... BUT the nachos was gooooood. Plus, it seemed like the most popular item. We also got the pineapple agua frescas. It tasted like it was straight out of a can....ugghh...and refill was a $1, double ughh!
