Enero 2015 read more

Two words - NACHO FRIES My mouth is watering just thinking about them. The perfect mix of french fries, Nacho cheese, jalepenos, etc.... Try it with the Pastor. That sh*t is fire!!!! Aside from the fries, the Al Pastor tacos are my favorite and highly recommended! Pair it with a big ass horchata and you're good to go. Don't forget your CASH, this place doesn't take cards. read more

I ordered the steak fries, they looked dull and tasted a little plain, but once I added some sauce they tasted pretty good.

Simply the best mexican food not only in the valley but all of LA. Not only is their food great but their aguas are also delicious (piña,horchata, jamaica) Small restaurant but very clean. Will definitely be coming back soon. read more

Been going here over 20 years literally.... The Nachos are a Valley trademark. My Favorite order is getting the Veggie Nachos and add Asada to them (no laughs), its a tower of goodness packed on to you plate. Now I'm no vegetarian by far but if you order this way you get all the extra goodies like lettuce avocado, tomatoes, beans , and rice on top of the already delicious Charlies Nachos. My fiance love the pastor tacos its not greasy or dry its PERFECT. read more

First time I went it was okay but second time terrible worst experience Food is okay people talk a lot about them so went to try the good not amazing the service is TERRIBLE cashier being very rude shouldn't be working with the way of attitude and workers also very rude I asked them a simple question and answered in a very rube manner Never going back read more

This place has been here for years and I have to say their nachos are like the number one thing So so so filling. I recommend their agua de pina too it's definitely worth the drive read more

some of the best asada fries in LA. I almost didn't want to post this cuz then everyone's gonna go and the line will be long Need to go back ASAP read more

I have mixed feelings about this place, the people working here are so extremely nice and sweet, the place seems clean but the food isn't that good but it's not terrible either, NO bathrooms so you can't even wash your hands before you eat. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I'm still looking for the best tacos in the San Fernando valley. This is the 3rd place I've tried and the tacos were pretty good. Not 'to-die' for. But definitely good and I will have to go back again. That being said... the Nachos are EVERYTHING people are saying they are. Awesome. So if you want Nachos - this is the place to go! read more

Bomb... Just bomb... I can't give it more stars because it won't let me.... But let me tell you... Buy only one thing so it will never disappoint you, nachos with extra meat and cheese.... The only thing that I don't like about this place is the parking... Besides that you cannot go wrong with it. Trust me you'll come back for more nachos.... Its on point. read more

I come here for the asada fries only and they are bomb. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't like messy food like go eat some gourmet pasta for 20$. I will say that the price has gotten ridiculous. The price of the asada fries used to be around 8$ and now over the years had increased to 11$ which is absurd. I personally have never had any experience of bad service or messed up orders. If you want to know if the asada fries are good then they are but only downside is the price. Doesn't make any sense since it's essentially just fries, cheese, asada, and other small ingredients just thrown on top of each other. read more

It's all about the Al Pastor tacos here! The only other better Al Pastor taco is the taco truck parked on Nordhoff and Lemona in North Hills. I didn't like the nachos here despite the good reviews on them. The nachos were too cheesy with that 7-11 type of cheese and drowning. I will come back for more Al Pastor tacos though. Get the food to go as the interior is nothing to write home about. read more

So i walked into this joint based on Yelp reviews, maybe it's one of their off days but the Torta de Al Pastor was for a lack of betters words... just blah. I ve definately had better and more flavorful al pastor meat with a lot more spices and even color; the salsa was bland and the mayo overtook any other trace of any flavor. Sorry iv'e had better tortas at a Walmart food court. read more

Fav place to go. I always come here. I ordered over the phone said I wanted everything BUT jalapeños because my girls allergic. I got jalapeños on it and when I told her about it she told me that I never said I wanted it w out jalapeños. She wanted to pick out the jalapeños and hand it to me like that. MY GIRL IS ALLERGIC. Had to ask twice to get a new order.. read more

Awful. Awful. Been there a few times with friends and was never really impressed, but we all got to eat! So being that there was so much hype around these nachos I decided to give it one last chance. After waiting a couple hours for one of their 2 parking spots to clear up, I finally got to place my order and watched them create this disaster. I asked for no onion and got extra. When they offered me my nachos I said, "No those aren't mine." She looked at me like I was crazy and refused to fix my order. read more

A friend told me this place had the best nachos. So naturally when I was in the area I had to stop by and try them. I ordered nachos with carne asada. It came with chips, cheese (both shredded and melted), sour cream, carne asada and beans. Not sure if I came on a bad day but I wasn't impressed with these particular nachos. The melted cheese was barely warm and the carne asada was hard. Plus I would have liked some guacamole added in there. Definitely not the best nachos I've ever had. Oh and this place is cash only. read more

Came in for the carne asada fries and was not disappointed (also ordered nachos, tacos & a torta to go). They were so delicious and the fries were steak cut fries which were so nice and crispy it was such a great surprise. Very nice portion size but parking is a bit of a challenge. They are on the corner of paxton/laurel cyn in the corner. I had a bit of a hard time finding it so just a lil heads up. read more

Hands down best Nachos EVER!!! That green sauce they give you in the side OMG FIRE!!!!!

So sad when you see a once upon a time good restaurant go down the drain. I recently went in for my natural craving of Charlies Nachos. I was soooo dissappointed. Lets just say I will never ever go back. The Nacho cheese tasted watered down, the meat (asada) had so much fat on it & Im not talking about the soft fat that you can actually chew I am talking about hard fat. It was just gross. Taco Charlie I will miss you, but I will remember you as the good place you once were. read more

Nachos Charly...best ever!! Their tacos are pretty good too, but the nachos are a must have! Their piña agua fresca is really good too.

The gardeners are the french fries are bomb. The only thing I can say is they only except cash here and sometimes the lady behind the phone is very rude. But the food is really good. read more

I decided to try a new place where they made nacho fries and this place was at the top of the list on Yelp. I get there and order nacho fries and a quesadilla de asada. The place was rather foggy I figured it's because of all the grilling and the smoke was circulating the place. It was irritating my airway which was already sort've blocked because i'm slightly sick. They also only accept cash only which is a huge inconvenience for me since I always pay with my card. Another con was the parking lot. It is so unbelievably tiny made it difficult to park. The food was good, really good. The only reason it's getting 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the fog, cash only, and small parking lot. Other than that the food is pretty good. read more

This is the WORST mexican i've ever had. quesadillas de carne asada were so DRY they definitely needed some guacamole and sour cream.. but they DIDNT EVEN HAVE GUACAMOLE like what kind of mexican restaurant doesn't have guacamole?! they give you TWO thin slices of avocado for 5 slices of quesadillas!!! and everything is on the side, they don't put the items you want inside your quesadilla. literally so disappointed, i couldn't even finish my meal because of how DRY it was. save your money and go somewhere else that's worthy of your tastebuds. read more

I wanna love this place but every time my boyfriend brings me nachos from here I ALWAYS find a hair in it..the cooks don't wear hair nets and no gloves I highly doubt they even wash their hands..the only reason I even come back or eat their food is because I can't find any other restaurant that has nacho cheese on the nachos.. read more

Great menu. I love their Lengua burrito. I get if with just meat, cilantro, onions and chili. It is stuffed with luscious pieces of diced lengua. I am totally addicted to this burrito and have to drop by several times a month to get my fix. I like that the condiment bar is all you want. Small but fresh and tasty. Parking sucks and it is CASH only. Sometimes no one speaks English but they seem to get it. Simple atmosphere, good authentic food. read more

Go-to taco place because its delicious and a short drive away. Food: Not the best tacos ever but they are quite delicious and being so close, Tacos Charly does a good job of satisfying any taco cravings. Also did wanted to try the nacho fries but its hard to go away from my usual order. I always get al pastor, it tastes so good here and has always been consistent. Occasionally I will get lingua but I feel like they never give you enough of the meat with that one. The salsas are good here too, mix the green with the red and boom, it ties the taco together nicely. The green adds a nice little kick to it. Service: Always called in my order so it was a quick in and out. It does sometimes get crazy crowded, especially on week nights. Location: Across the street from Richie Valens park. Its in a small plaza and parking sucks. You'll have better luck just street parking it, probably won't get your car dinged up there. read more

Hole in the wall joint with so-so food..Parking was horrible when my husband and I went. There's about 6-7 tables, little room to move around. If there's lines, you have people's butts in your face while you're eating. We ordered a carne asada burrito and nachos. Carne asada burrito was mehhh... BUT the nachos was gooooood. Plus, it seemed like the most popular item. We also got the pineapple agua frescas. It tasted like it was straight out of a can....ugghh...and refill was a $1, double ughh! All in all, I can't really rave about this place. Probably won't be coming back. read more

Tried it for the 1st time, I got the asada fries that everyone raves about and honestly I thought they were ok. Nothing awesome or special about them. Might try something else next time I go! read more

Tacos Charly - Asada fries were just ok, nothing special! - Mexican Near Me - Pacoima, California

My husband and I always order food here for the most part it has been good experiences, minus a few times they have given us the wrong order. Today was horrible! We order super fries. There was just about no meat and the fires weren't even cooked all the way through! So much for good food. read more

Classic Dirty Mexican food, just the way it's suppose to be, if you have anything to complain about this temple, take yo ass to chipotle where you belong. read more

Great little mexican restaurant in the heart of Pacoima, directly across the street from Ritche Valens Park (RITCHEEEEEEE!). Anyways, the place is small but I guess it adds to its charm. Now about the food....... AWESOME! Asada, pastor, carnitas, chorizo, lengua, milaneza, pollo... you name it, it's here. I usually order just tacos because that's my personal favorite. But the menu is loaded with plenty of other options. I'm not a nacho guy, because quite frankly, I hate cheese. But they say this place is famous for its Charly's Nachos. I actually wish they would buy out the businesses on either side of it, tear down the walls and make a larger dining area. This place gets packed. read more

I've been coming here for over 18 years with my family & my parents have been going there when they dated back in high school, now my boyfriend & I go here for random dinner dates, the parking is a nightmare but the food & the service is well worth the small struggle (: Hopefully they'll buy the places close by to expand their space but I will definitely keep going & in the future take my children :D read more

The Nachos!!!! My brother used to work down the street from this place, I used to love meeting him for lunch, or picking him up. Just so I could go to Charlie's. Charlie's is a really popular Mexican food restaurant, they have alot of things on their menu. They have tacos burritos, tortas. But being completly honest there are only two things on the menu that you should ever order. Charlie's nachos, and Charlie's fries. They're pretty much the same dish, just swapped the food part out. You have your chips, asada, and a sh#t load of cheese. The best part is when you're done there's a ton of cheese, and meat left over on the bottom. The only downside is the parking there's never any parking. They have simple, but delicious food, this is a must try in my opinion. read more

Came here to try some tacos de asada. I try tacos everywhere and have to say this place has some of the worst customer service. I received only 3 tacos with the fourth tortilla missing the meat. I returned to get my missing taco and both ladies said to put the meat from last taco into the last tortilla. I paid for 4 tacos and only got 3. Don't waste your money here. read more

Been coming here for over 25 years. Their nachos are still my favorite thing on the menu and delicious. Their tacos and burritos are decent. The rest of the menu items are decent too but not the best. Service never comes with a smile but the cooks try their best to hurry up. Overall, this place is still worth trying out. Prices are fair. read more

I'm convinced this place had caused me significant weight gain, I joke about it with my co-workers all the time. We often order from here for lunch. I almost ALWAYS get the carne asada fries, my co-workers get nachos and other tasty menu items. Everything I've tried has been delicious! I like that one their fries and nachos they use shredded cheese AND melted nacho cheese- SO GOOD! read more

Been coming here since I was a child at Telfair Elementary in 90s. If parking were not an issue, I would go every weekend. Has been getting more pricey, but goodness is still there. Recommend ordering by phone since it can take a while when it gets busy. Burritos de al pastor and Charly Nachos are the best in the Valley area. Everyone knows that. The horchata tastes very good too (if you have a sweet tooth :). read more

Salsa is spicy and has a nice flavor. The food is good and filling. Just make sure you have cash as they don't accept credit cards. May have to look for parking. read more

I honestly LOVED THE ASADA FRIES!! They hooked it up with a free horchata since I didn't have the 2$ in cash. They really came thru. Not just because of the drink but because the asada fries were amazing ! I would always pass thru their and WOULDNT get my attention but today I was looking somewhere to get some asada fries and boom I ended up at tacos charly , cravings satisfied. I will def be returning !!!!! read more
