Let just being by saying that the service was good. Seating is ok, a little tight but it's not an issue. The food was a letdown to be honest. I really felt that no matter what I picked up, it was bland. The chips have no salt. The rice and beans no seasoning. Authentic Mexican rice should taste like tomato, onion, garlic, etc. The rice was also a bit dry. Beans had no flavor whatsoever. My flutas were shredded beef (carne desebrada). The beef was actually quite tasty. Not dry. And the tortillas had a thin crisp. Not too hard. But the guacamole was very disappointing. Lacked flavor. Didn't taste the lime, the union, or salt. And the texture was off. A bit watery. The salsas at the bar were ok. They were spicy. I think that's important. But seasoning is just as important. I saw that they have Pambasos on the menu. I'm a fan. Traditional pambasos are a French roll dipped in salsa guajillo, then lightly grilled. Stuffed with potato and chorizo, and topped with lettuce, sour cream and cheese. But the guy told me that they use what ever meat you prefer from their menu and that it comes with mashed potatoes. I'm sorry but no. Please no. Mashed potatoes is the last thing I expect with pambasos. We also ordered a sope de carnitas. The size is quite generous, but heavy with beans. My burrito was EXCELLENT! They have a condiments bar for us customers to get our salsas and garnishment together ourselves for togo or for done-in. The parking is HORRIBLE - which I hate because I VERY MUCH liked my food. I did order ahead of time (called it by phone). I thought it would be a quick pick-up but it turned out to be an ordeal. It's a busy street, and the parking in front is for two cars. The street around the corner (also a busy street) has no parking signs.... So I had to keep going g around and around until I found a place. If you are not in a hurry... try it. You will enjoy your food. read more

Not so impressed. It is good if u live close by, but I drive from Sawtelle to try it. I had 4 tacos; carnitas, carne asada, al pastor and pescada. The fish is not seasoned. The Al pastor is good but there are no pineapples. The carne asada was good. I did not try my carnitas till the next day at home and it is inedible. My friend had the fajitas and he gave them a 3.5. I am not sure what I expected for a quick taco joint... I guess good tacos. The portions were decent. Though if the tacos are made in house, they could save by not making them so big. Was looking around for solid burrito place in Culver, and I think I've found one! Tacomiendo is a small hole-in-the-wall with limited parking outside, and Mexican music playing inside at the just the right volume- good vibes, but not overly loud to dissuade conversation. Ordered a carne asada burrito (which came with chips), and a large horchata. Service was very quick, polite, and they brought my order right to my table within 10 minutes. The chips were a little bit stale and slightly above room temperature. The horchata was more watery, with less flavor than I prefer. The star of the show, however, was the carne asada. Lightly toasted tortilla on the outside, just the right amounts of ingredients (and guacamole!) inside, and the carne asada was moist, seasoned, and tender- cooked just right! The complimentary salsa bar had a tasty green salsa that balanced the heavier burrito well. All in all, the meal was around $16, and I would definitely return for the carne asada burrito! read more

I've ordered from Tacomiendo a few times. Based on what I've ordered I give the food 3.5 stars, but the salsa bar gets 4.5 stars, so I'm rounding to 4 stars. Last time I went, I got the taco plate with a side of guacamole. I didn't know until I got home that the tacos did not come with onions. There were onions at the salsa bar, so next time I need to load up on those. For me the green salsa was just the right level, and the marinated carrots were delicious. The guacamole was just okay. Nothing special. The taco plate comes with sour cream and guacamole, so next time there's no need for me to order an extra side of it. A few people have mentioned that the place is small. It is, but there are at least 6 or 7 four person tables, so it is possible to eat in if you like. read more

I love TACOMIENDO'S Chicken Tostada, the greens , cream, guac , non-spicy salsa and their "fresh" grilled chicken are DA BEST! I always encounter Mr Ismael (I call him the "Big Man") who knows exactly how my "chicken tostada" is prepared. They have the best array of condiments and hot free "frijoles"! This is an authentic hole in the wall type of restaurant with the most authentic Mexican food you will find in LA. The handmade corn tortillas are the best and taste like the ones in Mexico. If you've grown up eating carne asada on weeks with the fam, then this place will remind you of that! It had been a while since I had this place then for some reason came back again. And I'm back! Since I started coming here again I've returned and returned. If possible it's gotten even better than I remember. The spot itself is a bit small and parking can be a challenge but besides that it's all good! The food itself is amazing! Their tortillas are home made and add an extra touch of authenticity. I've recently been eating the carne asada plate, it's my go to plate! It comes with a healthy portion of carne asada that taste like family made it. The beans and rice couple it well and don't forgot the sour cream and guacamole that come with it. I always add their red salsa that they provide. (Go find their salsa bar, it's worth it). It comes with chips and 4 to 5 homemade tortillas. The service is excellent and friendly. As per my usual, I always ask too many questions and they're always patient and helpful with their suggestions. SUMMARY: Good, affordable Mexican food. I will return again. RECOMMENDATION: Definitely try their hard tortilla taco. The crunch of the shell really provides a different experience than the soft tacos. Also, make sure to check out there condiment section. They even have beans you can add in addition to the ones you order (you might miss it if you don't look for it). PARKING: Very limited. It's in a tiny plaza with 1 row of parking (maybe like 6ish spots). We came later in the evening so we got a spot (it would have been a beezy to exit if there had been a lot of traffic). AMBIENCE: It's a small restaurant with a few tables for indoor dining. There is no outdoor dining. The restaurant is cozy, very colorful and has some interesting art pieces on the wall. It's not fancy schmancy. You can see the entire dining area and register as soon as you walk in. There is one bathroom in the back which has a functioning toilet, soap and paper towels. FOOD REVIEW: We ordered way too much food. One order of a plato de taco is enough for a person. So is the carne asada torta. The sopa de albondigas is also enough of a meal but you won't be as full as you will with the other two meals I just mentioned. 1. PLATO DE TACOS (This comes with 2 tacos, rice, beans, scoop of guacamole and scoop of sour cream) *We ordered two plates which is why I reviewed 4 different meats below. Taco de lengua: generous portion of meat, the texture was the star of the show, fatty feeling, pleasant flavor Taco de cabeza: enjoyable, generous portion of meat, soft meat, had extra juices, fresh tasting Taco de carnitas: delicious, will order again, juicy Taco de carne asada: standard, tasty Soft Tortilla: definitely homemade, good Hard tortilla: I actually preferred this over the homemade soft tortilla, it was enjoyable,  crunchy The beans were tasty and they had a sprinkle of cheese on top. The Spanish rice was solid. You could taste the individual grains which added extra texture to it.  The guacamole did not taste chemically like the store bought guacamoles. It was refreshing and limey. The sour cream was nothing to write home about. 2. SOPA DE ALBONDIGAS Delicious soup. Good flavors.  The carrots and potatoes could be cut up smaller (they were huge). I personally would prefer that there were more ingredients in the soup, but this is still a very good soup. Meatballs were delicious (one order came with 3 meatballs). Broth had depth. It's not instant soup. Very basic, but I would eat it again. 3. CARNE ASADA TORTA This is basically like a good Mexican burger/sandwich. Simple, but very satisfying. 4. CANTALOUPE AGUA FRESCA: Fresh,  there's pulp, not too much ice, not too sweet, flavors provide natural sugar 5. CHAMPURRADO Milk based, not over the top sweet which is preferred, good texture, good flavor, not too chocolatey if that's what you're into. I would come back to drink this. read more

Respect! Came in 10 minutes before closing and they still took care of me. Without missing a beat even! It's the first time we had this place and I must say, the salsas are pretty dang good. Nachos could have used more cheese and I was expecting deep fried fish tacos but got grilled ones. It was actually a pleasant surprise and I would go back for those.
