There are several Mexican food places to eat in the area. One of our go to spots is Tacolicious. He loves the MF tacos. We shared the side of broccolini and carrots and I had the kale salad. The three carrots were so under cooked that I couldn't cut them. Maybe don't cook at all and do separate. The three broccolini pieces were stringy, but at least cooked. Don't order. The salad was yummy. There's enough to get on the menu that's good, but with other places to go, I would love it if they could do better with the carrots. read more

I do not like this place. I've been multiple times when craving mexican food, always hoping to have it grow on me and it never does. This part of the city needs more authentic mexican food - the food is just mid and expensive. The guac is $14... the queso is also $14 and not even good. Maybe a happy hour or a lunch special deal would make it worth it for me, but the food doesn't justify the price. read more

Very pricy but on the plus side the tacos actually have a good portion of meat/protein in them and they don't skimp. They did get my drink order wrong but otherwise the staff was friendly and explained all the different sauces. Didn't have a reservation but we didn't have to wait. Would definitely recommend making one as it can get busy. read more

This chain used to be my go to for good tacos and drinks, but they've changed their menu a lot over the years and I don't think the quality was retained. As someone who loves to health-ify unhealthier food at home, I appreciated the effort to do the same throughout the menu, but I feel that it compromised the taste too much to be a craveable option when eating out. I think it's still good for a quick snack or happy hour option while in the vicinity, though! It can form a line out of the door, but it moves quick with the fast service and tightly packed interior and outdoor seating. Last time I went there for happy hour on a Friday afternoon and we got seated right away outside while it was warm. They have decent chips and salsa to tide you over while you wait for more food. My old favorite drink used to be the passion, but it tasted too juicy/sweet now and not really spicy anymore. A classic skinny margarita is your best bet for a less sweet drink. read more

Stopped in for a snack with my sister the other day and got seated immediately. We received complimentary fresh chips + salsa. Huge fan of the house salsa. They have some of vegetarian and vegan options, like 4 or 5, which I appreciate even as a pescatarian. I got a Baja fish taco + a vegan chorizo/potato one (2 for $15) + 2 Baja fish tacos for sis + a can of tecate for me + a green juice for sis + a side of refried beans sprinkled w/ cojita cheese. The "chorizo" taco was bad. It lacked flavor, tasted strange. The fish tacos were pretty good, not a fan of the flour tortillas but that may be my fault for not reading and assuming they came on a corn one.. All of the salsas that came on the side + the pickled onions + the beans were GREAT, though. My sister said the green juice was refreshing and would get it again. Our waitress was awesome and quick which heightened our experience so this was really a 3.5 but 4 doesn't feel right especially when I noticed there was another taco shop right across the street. read more

Food quality has done way downhill! I remember in ~2019 the food was delicious, fresh, and interesting. I just moved back to SF and was excited to enjoy this place again, but the food was giving Taco Bell and the meat portions were super stingy. Pluses were the nice, clean restaurant and kind service. I came to Tacolicious this past Saturday for a few afternoon drinks with friends. We were able to get seated for 4 easily, although the restaurant was definitely busy even at 3pm. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, regularly checking in with us and refilling our complimentary chips and salsa. We got margaritas and it turns out their happy hour also applies on the weekend from 3-6pm! This was a really great deal, each marg was only $8 during happy hour. The service was horrendous, would give it 0 stars if I could. We asked how long the wait for an outside table was and the girl working the hostess stand was on her phone and glanced up to say 1 hour. We stood there for a few minutes and watched as 4-5 outdoor tables closed out and left. We immediately got seated within 5 minutes and then ordered the queso which was so bad that we asked if it was okay for us to return it. Our waiter, Anna, took the queso and returned with the bill later which still had the queso on it. We asked if it could be removed since they took it back, and she said no because there was nothing wrong with it. Love this spot! Service is very friendly & accommodating. I've been here a few times, and we are quickly seated & taken care of. Food arrives quickly as well. Great energy in the restaurant. Love the bustling atmosphere, but not too loud to prevent conversations. Complimentary chips and salsa are absolutely delicious - one of my favorite salsas out there! This has been my favorite restaurant in SF since it opened! I absolutely love their guacamole, the marina girl salad is perfection, and the tuna tostada is one of my all time faves! My goodness has this place fallen low. It used to be such a good spot for fresh tacos. Now it's a salty, salty sloppy mess filled with folks doing shots of tequila and not even ordering food. And the food when we ordered, it was so overly fatty and overly spiced that it was barely edible. The chips that are served before you eat are not even as good as Doritos. The poor, poor overwhelmed servers, barely visit your table. I'm sorry to say that this restaurant is on our no go list now. Sitting outside you are bombarded by homeless people. My uncle recommended me this place. My friend Sam and I had a great time. She has a dairy and gluten allergy. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful when it came to making sure nothing was cross-contaminated. She got the Coca Cola carnitas tacos and I got the MF Chicken Tacos. My tacos were good but a little too spicy for me. I am white but still. I should have gotten the carnitas tacos! The refried beans and chips/salsa were the stars of the show. We kept asking for more chips to keep dipping. We also got a non-alcoholic Jamaica Lemonade. It was okay. A lot of conflicting flavors that didn't go well together but it was drinkable. I love the food here, the tacos are amazing, but, I recently had a very bad experience with the service. This happened on a Sunday, and the restaurant closes at 9:00 PM. My friends and I arrived around 8:40, and we were seated without any issue. We were told we could still order and that it wouldn't be a problem. However, we experienced several issues. We ordered a Coke at the beginning of the meal, but it wasn't brought to us until we were completely finished with our food, and that was after reminding them about it. I also had to ask at least three times for paper napkins before someone finally brought them. Overall, it was very unpleasant trying to get any assistance; I would call for a waiter and be completely ignored. Even then, I tried to be understanding because it was close to closing. The last straw was when the check came. Our bill came out to about $93, and we tipped 8% based on the service we received. The waiter then asked if something was wrong, but not in a polite or constructive way. I calmly and respectfully explained why I felt the service hadn't been good. His response was simply, "Well, it's the end of the night," said in a very rude tone, and then he turned his back and walked away. I still try to be understanding, but we left around 9:10 PM, and there were still other customers dining. If a restaurant can't provide proper service after a certain time, they shouldn't seat customers that late. But if you choose to accept customers, you should still provide good and respectful service. I could be okay with all of that except the rude waiter. You may ask about your trip, but you can never be that rude to a customer. I have suggested this place to a lot of my friends because of their tacos, but this was so disappointing and I'm not sure even if I would ever go back! read more
