The young woman who took my order at the counter was so personable and friendly and efficient! I wish I had gotten her name. There was a young man named Alex filling orders and delivering them to customers in the dining area. He was so polite and friendly, and seemed to care a lot about the quality of work he was doing. Sitting in Taco Time eating tacos for Cinco de Mayo. There's a special on the door: 3 crispy tacos for $5! What a deal considering the world right now. Waited at the counter for a few minutes to give my order but nobody paid any attention. A guy walked up to deliver an order and pointed me at the self-service kiosk. My full price tacos just taste kinda bitter. Yay, Taco Time. I really should have driven to Chipotle a couple of towns away. I said something when I got my tacos from the counter. Fast food place with worst tacos I remember having in long time... just lettuce with a spoon of ground beef (chicken a bit more generous). No salsa, just packaged hot sauce. $13-15 for a combo (drink and potatoes tats) with 2 x tacos. Worst of all, when paying the screen asking for a tip just flashed before asking to tap the card. I could not see if there was any default selection, let alone touch anything. Unfortunately, the receipt showed that it defaulted to 25%!! Quick service and mostly accurate order (gave us tomatoes although I requested none) but my 5 year olds taco shell was all busted up. I'm giving two stars because the food is usually good. I stopped in one night last week and when I walked in, I threw a plastic bottle into the trashcan. I was looking up at the menu and noticed that an employee rushed by me and was saying something that I couldn't understand. Then I saw him reach into the trashcan and pull the plastic bottle out He very rudely and unnecessarily told me that I threw it in the wrong trashcan. I didn't know he was talking to me and didn't understand what he was saying and I really don't understand why he had such an attitude about something so simple and an obvious mistake. He got loud And unprofessional and I admittedly got pretty loud too because I wasn't going to put up with it. The other employee was very apologetic and tried to calm the situation down. I apologized for the misunderstanding and went to leave. The nice employee said "we are so sorry. Would you still like to order food". I just said "no thank you. I've lost my appetite" and I left. To add insult to injury, I tried calling the store. They have a Customer Service number that says they'll call you back as soon as they can. Ordered online for pickup - it took FOREVER to get our food, and then we still had to get our own drinks even though we ordered them in the app. I think it would have been much quicker to go through the drive-through. In addition, the portion sizes were much smaller than I've ever seen before. The kids meal was toddler sized and my natural burrito had hardly any filling - it was mostly just the tortilla shell. I have stopped here for years while traveling but not for about 8 months lately. This place has really gone down hill. Stopped to get food while passing through the mountains on 8/ 1/22 around 11am. Unfortunately the dining room was closed, not sure why maybe due to limited staffing or still due to covid. We waited SO long in the drive thru maybe 20 mins. When we finally got our food and drove off we were so disappointed that the Mexi-Fries were extremely cold, almost as if they were last night's batch. My husband was also frustrated that his Coke was actually Diet Coke which he hates. What a waste of money and time. read more

Killer taco fast food chain. Not a national chain like it's red haired cousin, Taco Bell. Probably the reason this place serves restaurant quality Americanized faux Mexican grub, as a whole, I stand by this statement. Today I am saddened. North Bend, a once very enjoyable roadside attraction for the Seattle crowd heading out to ski, or travel further, towards the numerous quiet towns just opposite the Snowqualmie mountains diving the state. Today it's a growing urban sprawl, rapidly filling the gap from the foot of the mountains practically the entire (40+ miles) way back to Seattle. The traffic is LA esque. When I was young, the entire population of that town was just about the same as the human count I just observed in a 3 square block area which this lousy Taco Bell, a McDs, a couple convenience stores and both a Starbucks as well as small coffee kiosk are located. The order was completely failure prone, down to the missing burrito as well as ketchup not delivered, while they managed to upgrade TateR tot and drink sizes, specifically stated to be "small". My Habanero burrito wasn't terrible. But I overlooked that the menu probably stated that it was beef, black beans 80% RICE, and just the flavor of habanero with a smidgen of heat. Essentially paste. Decent taste, but indeed just a paste enveloped in a flour tortilla. Not ever again. My sister had a deep fried pinto burrito. Withered and not impressive, but she said it was tasty. I disagree, though I didn't accept an offered bite. Moms tacos did look appealing. Had this place offered indoor seating I might've requested some corrections, as well as my burrito be swapped for something with substance (tomatoes, cheese etc) but because of closed dining, we instead ate at the picnic table which was adjacent to the (hidden) dumpster. Vandalism-beware-screws littering parking spots. This place has well prepared food and most of the employees are great. However, today I stopped in for lunch and when I was about to leave, I realized that there were short screws littering my parking spot and the spot next to me. I found over 20 screws. I brought them in to the manager and explained that this is likely no accident, but typically this is vandalism. I told them that if I ended up with a flat tire, I hope that they will have a police report on record already for the vandalism. The manager (a young guy with a beard) seemed nice enough but I don't think he understood the liability issue involved or how serious this could be. I took time to check around again and check my tires, and no one came out to start cleaning. Fingers crossed that nothing happened to my tires! read more

Service and food quality was fine, but the Habanero Burrito didn't have any Habanero on it that I could detect. On Sunday, July 21, we went to taco time in North Bend and picked up an order and on the way back to the car saw that there was a dog in distress in a parked car with the windows barely cracked. The temperature was in the low 80s. I went back in and talked to the manager. She said I'm sorry I'm too busy to take care of that. When I said how long does it take to make an announcement that there is a dog suffering in a hot car, The woman rudely dismissed me. I said that I will have to call the police then and she said, well go right ahead. I sent an email to the corporate office and never heard anything back from them. So Taco Time is a new thing for me. I only came here bc my hun bun's family lives close by. He loves this place and thinks it is amazing. So we come up to the window and he ordered a beef soft taco meal and I thought, oh that's small, I guess I'll do the same. To my utter amazement, these weren't your normal tacos! They were what we call here in LA burritos! Or...the hugest taco I have ever seen! It was super good. No sauce needed. The beef was flavored sooo well that the whole taco was perfect! HEALTHY ON THE GO MEAL. My kids and I go to Taco Time often. The food is great - made from tasty locally grown ingredients with a mild and flavorful spice blend. The store is always clean and the service is excellent. The drive-through is quick. I've never had a mistake in my order. In-store service is nice. Grab your drink, a number and sit down. Each meal is prepared to order. In a few minutes, the whole table is served by a friendly host. I order the Chicken Big Time Mexi-Burrito Meal and substitute the mexi-fries (like tater tots) for an order of beans. The beans are not cooked in fat, so they're better for you. But they also have sweet potato mexi-fries. They have two of those new 120 flavor soda machines. The food is price similar to "comparable" upscale quick service restaurants - e.g. Qdoba, or Chipotle, etc. An adult or growing teenager can eat well for under $10. But the reason I support this fast-food chain above all others: it's the most eco-friendly fast food place that I know of. Every piece of garbage that Taco Time makes can be composted except for the plastic chili spoon and packets of sauce in metalized plastic packets. Their garbage cans are tiny. The rest of the cans are all compost bins. The burrito is wrapped in compostable paper. Sodas are filled in paper cups with a compostable corn plastic top and straw. You have to be a repeat customer to appreciate the finer details. Their employees like their jobs, are happy to serve people and hold on to their jobs for a long time. I'm told they make on average ($11.00) an hour, which is well above Washington's minimum wage ($9.32). In fact, that's a living wage. This is the reason why I don't shop across the street at the big M. Real fresh ingredients means the best food. read more
