Casual ambiance college town bar for street tacos and more. The service was excellent and very good. the food was good got chicken fajita with black beans and rice it was mixed together the food is ok could be better the margaritas were ok could be better with a better mix

This restaurant offers a menu featuring tacos, quesadillas, taco salads, and fajitas, along with a kids' menu that even includes fries. (The fries are surprisingly good!) I tried the street corn dip. Although, the portion felt a bit small for the price, the flavor was good. The street tacos come on corn tortillas, which were a little dry. I recommend asking for a lime wedge. A squeeze of lime made all the difference. There's plenty of seating for large groups, and we were seated quickly without any wait. Service was fantastic. Our server checked in often and made sure we had everything we needed. They also offer daily specials and a weekday Happy Hour from 4-7 PM. On Sundays, they serve brunch from 11 AM-3 PM and run football specials with beer buckets and pitchers. Overall, friendly service, good food, and a comfortable place to dine especially for groups.

Just so happen to pop into Taco Mundo on a whim, on a Thursday evening the first week of July. Not knowing what to expect after our original plans had to be abruptly re-routed, we figured you can't really go wrong with Margs & Tacos. Needless to say we hit the jackpot on this random whim. Upon entering the restaurant is so spacious with ample seating, we were immediately greeted and seated by staff. Our sever was Mariah C. and she was just as lovely and bubbly as can be. In a very enjoyable and genuine way not annoying at all. Please note if you think the margaritas are strong and you might be seeing double you are... Mariah is a twin and yes they both work there. It was a little chuckle we all shared when the Margs started to hit. We opted to get all shareable items... 1 Pitcher Casa Margarita 2 Mundo Wings (8) 1 El Mundo Salad Grilled Shrimp 1 Street Taco Chicken (3) 1 Guacamole Both my sister and I, enjoyed everything we ordered. The margaritas were perfect and both the salsa and the guacamole were a hit. The wings were both well seasoned and cooked to perfection. A good wing can always stand alone without any sauces and the Mundo Wings did just that. The El Mundo Salad with grilled Shrimp was lite and refreshing yet very filling. We shared it because we both wanted to try a few items, but acknowledged we could've order the salad and been satisfied. The only items that needed a little extra love was the street tacos, however a little salsa and hot-sauce helped elevate the flavor profile for us. To be honest the food and service was great but what made Taco Mundo a hit and a spot both my sister and I said is must on my next visit was Ida/Ayda (I forgot to ask the correct spelling of her name). Needless to say she was amazing, as a fellow NYer we just clicked and she really spoke our "same language". It was so refreshing to come across someone so cool and relatable. We really enjoyed our experience at Taco Mundo. Just A Note: The Casa Margarita Pitchers are $18 for Thirsty Thursdays.

Absolutely loved this place!!! We went on the 4th of July and there weren't many people there but I'm sure it is on and popping any other time! That being said we had an AMAZING time! The staff were amazing, especially Ayda! Her energy and vibe were awesome! Several managers checked in to make sure we were good and it felt real genuine! The food was good. We ordered a Taco Platter with a Cauliflower, Grilled Fish, and a Bang Bang shrimp Taco, Fajitas, guacamole, and a El Gallo Loco Margarita. All of our food came to the table piping hot and fresh! The chips came nice and hot in a paper bag! They were our favorite and we ended up pigging out on them! My only complaint is that the rice in the rice and beans was not cooked all the way. I kept chewing hard pieces. I did tell the manager and she brought me out a fresh bowl to go! It was good! The real star of the show was the Key Lime Pie, I ordered to go! Oh my goodness!! The crust was thick and delicious and it was super creamy with subtle and balanced sweetness and tartness! Will definitely visit again!

Carne Asada Quesadilla

I got the carne asada quesadilla and it was really good. Very crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. My friend ordered the chicken nachos and the portion was huge. I'd been to Taco Mundo before and thought it was just okay, but this visit completely changed my mind. We came for trivia night and had such a fun time. The space is big, lively, and the staff was super friendly. Definitely glad I gave it another try!!

This was our Frist time here. We had a large group of 15 people. This place is super laid back. We had a large group but the staff did an amazing job. The street corn dip is amazing a must get. All the food was really good.

It's restaurant week in the midlands (Oct 2-12) so my friend and I came here for dinner. They have the 3 courses for 2 for $40 which was a steal considering we were able to get drinks instead of a dessert. The shrimp was so good with the tempura batter and sweet chili sauce. It was fresh and has a good crunch. The fajitas were very flavorful. Those drinks were so good, sweet and not overpowering with liquor. The chips and salsa were prob the best part. Everything tasted so fresh like they literally just made it in the back 2 seconds ago lol. I really enjoyed myself and our waitress was amazing. Great place to go for a fun night.

Service was friendly & welcoming and the tacos were delicious. Everything was fresh & the chips were fresh and hot

The meat was burnt! The Hawaiian chicken taco was good ! The fajitas trio was burned, the cheese dip and guacamole were good.service was slow and not a lot of attention to details. She took the empty water glass and took 10-15 minutes to bring back. The plates were brought half way through the meal, there was a fly on the table. The tissue box on the table has a filmed of dirt and my husband has to get one from another table.the ambiance is ok.

Upon entering the hostess informed us they were currently only serving the late night menu. We said no problem and elected to grab seats at the bar. There were several empty tables and a few empty seats @ the bar. However, the only two seats together at the bar needed to be cleared from the last patrons that were seated. We stood there for over 20 mins while Jacob continued to walk by never acknowledging us or the fact that we couldn't sit. When he finally cleared the dishes he just walked away, never cleaning the area. When he returned he still never greeted us or apologized for the wait, the mess... nothing. Jacob: What are you having? Me: Well hello... Jacob: Yea... what do you want? Me: Wow... ok. For starters can you please whip off the bar so we can properly have a seat. There is still food residue here from the last customers. ** we get a visible huff** He wipes down the bar and we proceed to order drinks, while he never really speak any more it's all via motions and body language. Amongst ourselves we check in with one another to confirm that we both were feeling very unwelcome. Instantly we decide that we will not be ordering anything additional and will be leaving after this one drink. Which is just as well because Jacob never returns. Someone , whom I can only assume was of a mangement status, asked if Jacob was helpful and we promptly and simultaneously said no and that we would like or bill. She shook her head in utter disbelief and disgust but then she also disappeared. Just so happened that Diamond, whom was on the other side of the bar happen to walk pass. She stopped and asked if we were ok after witnessing our frustration. We explained that we wanted the check and why we were leaving. She was super apologetic and closed out our tab. Her energy literal turned the experience around and if she would have came to our rescue sooner we would have considered staying. Thank you Diamond. Just A Note: Unfortunately, bad first impression because The Grand seems like it may offer a good time with the bowling lanes in the back.

But nothing could've prepared me for when i walked into this bad boy. MESMERIZED. Whoever did yalls interior decor? RAISE. Immediately! it's gorgeous in there, down to the bar top chairs. Literally a work of art - I'd go just for the ambiance. The servers were so personable and Nickie (bartender) is one of the greatest creations to this planet. Also the manager with the phenomenal winter jacket (you know who you are) that's giving 1990's realness, thank you for your service. I went for brunch and had some of the chargrilled oysters and the burger and woooooo child, it was fantastic! The cocktails and the chemistry behind them are probably some of the best I've had in the city so far. 10/10 do recommend.

The appetizers were wonderful, smoked meatball, shrimp cocktail, what I believe was a crab dip ( what ever it was was incredible) The main course, left a little to be desired, prime rib was perfectly cooked and tender, but the chicken dish was bland and flavorless. Overall, I am looking forward to trying the main dining room on my next visit to Columbia!

I arrived at 750. I was told that tables were sitting a little late so it would be a wait of 20-30 minutes. Well that wouldn't be a problem if there was somewhere to wait. I was told I could go to the rooftop (40 degrees) or wait under the stairs (no room and a fall hazard). I asked if we could wait by the bar but was told there was a private party and we couldn't. My husband and I went to a neighboring bar and returned 15 minutes later where we then waited by bar, eventually being seated at 825. Ambiance is nice. It's cozy, good for date night. Server was amazing. She was a natural. Top tier, like she studied to be a server lol. I hate I can't remember her name. Five stars for her. Food. It was a 3/5. Go for the mussels! They are delicious. Hush puppies are pretty tasty. Main options we got were the ribeye and the quail. They both left something to be desired. It was good but it wasn't great. I didn't want to lick my plate. Something was needed and missing in both dishes. The portions are fine. I won't return to give them another chance. My advice to anyone coming for a nice date night, don't. I would stop by here, hit the bar, grab some mussels and go elsewhere for dinner. I'm disappointed because I was looking forward to trying this place. I would have given them 3 stars but the seating situation was not acceptable. Oh and don't get dessert here. They threw something together and called it an apple parfait. It tasted like air.

Bison, elk, boar, rabbit. These are proteins you don't see on most menus. The restaurant leans into a woodland theme with greenery hanging throughout the space. It borders on a bit much, but the open kitchen visible from the dining room grounds the whole experience and adds a nice touch of theater. The seating was comfortable and well spaced, perfect for a family dinner where you actually want to hear each other talk. Our server was outstanding, easily 5 out of 5. She knew the menu cold, offered thoughtful recommendations, and struck that ideal balance of attentive without being intrusive. She made the evening better. The drinks were mostly a win. Two cocktails were excellent, creative and well balanced. A third was over iced and fell flat. Minor miss, but worth noting. The food is where The Hollow really shines. The charcuterie board was a fantastic start, featuring a well curated spread of wild game meats, quality cheeses, fig, and mustard. The mains delivered across the board: salmon, elk, and bison all came out beautifully with great flavor and generous portions. The sides deserved their own applause, which isn't something I say often. The dessert menu was the one soft spot. Nothing grabbed our attention, so we ended up heading across the street to Kaminsky's for something sweet. For a kitchen that puts this much care into everything else, the dessert offerings felt like an afterthought. A couple of notes on the bill to be aware of: we were charged a few dollars for swapping a vegetable side. There was a 3% credit card surcharge that caught us off guard. When you're out with the family and the tab runs into the hundreds $, most folks are paying with a card. That's a fee I'd want to know about upfront. On the menu, from the server, somewhere visible before the check arrives. The bottom line: The Hollow is a creative, well executed restaurant with standout food and excellent service. If you're in Columbia, it's well worth a reservation.
