Not the best, but it wasn't the worst either, lol! The bean dip with the nachos was different! Most Mexican restaurants give Salas's and chips but they gave bean dip and chips, very yum!! I have no idea what I ordered (Lolol) it was shredded chicken wrapped in chalupa bread (that's the best way I can describe it, my apologies) it had a distinct taste to it. I couldn't tell if it was sour or it was just my taste buds trying something new. Good news is I didn't ended up sick, so it was probably just new flavors hitting my taste buds. But I'm not brave enough to try it again tho. We went on a Saturday afternoon and about 3 guest were there total. They had fans on everywhere so maybe the AC was out and that's why it was only 3 guess. To sum up my review, it's not the best but it wasn't the worst either. They have a salsa bar with several choices, but they were honestly all about the same, either tomato paste-like, or so hot you can't taste it. We got Asada Burritos, a wet burrito, for our meals. I have to say, not impressed. Both of ours were similar, with a very small amount of meat, and the rest was nothing but beans. Our son got a kids quesadilla, and it was better than our 13 dollar Asada Burritos. I'd be willing to try something else off the menu in the future, but if all of their food is similar, it won't be one of our regular hangouts. I needed a good quick Mexican meal yesterday and decided on Brothers and Beer in Lexington. I love Mexican but like light meat dishes best. This establishment has liquidly refied beans as a chip dip (which was good) but also has a salsa bar if you wanted something else. I ordered a chlli relleno and vegetable enchiladas which both sounded good. I missed my call on these dishes as the vegetable enchilada was sweet and didn't have a good taste. The cheese on it and the chili relleno were too thick with thick stringiness and no flavor. The chili relleno had cheese and meat sauce inside but didn't have a great taste either. I may have ordered the wrong things as they have a heavy meat menu that might be better. I hope the meat dishes are much tastier. read more

I arrived approx 5pm on a Friday eve, no problem with seating, this place is small but nice. We have so many Mexican restaurants in this area that I wasnt gonna get my hopes up. They have a salsa bar and a refried bean dip that was quite tasty. The menu has so many items that I finally just ordered my usual shrimp fajitas, yes they were delicious! Our food came our pretty fast, and was presented well. The only issue I had was the side of rice had no flavor at all. Our waiter was attentive but I dont think he understood English very well, I had to repeatedly ask about my drink ingredients. Bottom line the food was good, well seasoned, quick and the service was professional. I will try them again in the near future and maybe try a different item. Tried it for the first time tonight. The food was great! The service was awesome, in fact, 3 different people came to our table to make sure everything was okay and were quick to get us anything we needed. This place is terrible. We hosted my mother in law's retirement party here. Staff was extraordinarily rude, they nickeled and dimed us for every single item, and it was a total disaster. If you've ever been to Mexico and felt like you're being screwed out of every penny you have, that's exactly what it feels like to eat here. When we brought out the cake for the main festivity, the server gave us crap about bringing forks to the table. There were 30 paying customers here but none of that mattered. The owner came out to speak with us because we expressed concern and the owner said they're usually packed on Friday nights so they couldn't accommodate our party even though we reserved a space for 30 more than a month ago. Oddly, there were a ton of open tables while we were eating. Overall, I felt like we were scammed every step of the way and I wouldn't recommend eating here if you're more than a group of 2. Definitely our favorite Mexican restaurant around. Their Mexico City street tacos are the absolute best. Add some shredded cheese and they're the bomb. I consider myself a taco enthusiast so that says a lot. Their tropical fajitas, Jose cuervo fajitas, and gigantic burritos are all excellent too. Their tableside guacamole is really good, just add some salt. They give you beans to dip your chips in instead of salsa, but they have a salsa bar to compensate. Recently moved just a couple of miles from the place and it's already become our go-to spot. I suspected this was the real deal when they served bean dip with the tortilla chips. The dishes are so special and rely on complex spices instead of heavy sauces, reminiscent of Mexican and TexMex I've had in Texas and Arizona. Ingredients are fresh and the seasoned meats practically melt in your mouth! The music can be too loud but the staff is very friendly and cheerful. The margarita specials are good and the ala carta menu has perfectly priced portions without sides for a quick snack. Best we've had in SC or NC and we have tried a Lot of places! read more

Miss America and I went to this Mexican restaurant last night for dinner. First, Mexican food isn't my favorite and I never eat it without having a margarita first. I had a "Brothers Margarita" as my drink last night and while it was good, I've ones in the Augusta area where they pour a little heavier on the tequila (this seems to be common there and I'm definitely a fan) it could have been a tad stronger. The flavor was wonderful though and I would recommend this drink. We were greeted quickly upon arrival, our servers were friendly, attentive, and gave us the service I look for when I go out to eat. The restaurant was busy but even so our food came out quickly and was Good! This is something I like about Brothers and Beer. They have a menu that has some different types of Mexican food that even people like me who aren't huge fans of this type of food can find things to enjoy. We will return and I highly recommend this restaurant. Even crowded, you can talk to your friends and still enjoy/hear each other and have a nice conversation, meal, and drink. read more
