Unassuming from the outside but inside you're transported to an exotic locale. Once seated you are served authentic Mexican tortilla chips. They are fresh and rustic and everything you didn't know you wanted in a chip. Service is courteous and attentive. Everything we had was amazing. The only thing that could have made the experience any better, would have been Margaritas! In the area of spirits, they only served Mexican beer .

I love the new location on Pensacola Blvd. They've done a very good job! The store is large and well stocked, with bakery products and meat section. As you enter the restaurant is on the right and looks very cute. Everyone is very nice and super friendly. We ordered some food to take with us. You may need some help with the translation of the menu. My Spanish is spotty but I was still able to make out most of the items. Everything we had was wonderful! I'm so loving this store!

OK, so They have moved across Hwy 29, next door to Vallarta's but the food hasn't changed. It's still amazing traditional Mexican food. The new restaurant is a nice and clean update from the one around the corner. Looking for Real Mexican food..? This is your place..!!

    Inside unwrapped delicious tamale

This place is the most authentic Mexican we have found in Pensacola yet. Please keep on mind one of us here is Mexican so we know what we are talking about. Let's start off with the tamale OMG nice and soft and flavorful, not like others that are all dried out. The shrimp cocktail very good on spot. We tried the tacos and they were flavorful and just the right size. Next time because there will be a next time we will try more. There aren't a lot of seats so you might have to wait a little for a table, we went in for lunch on a Saturday and waited 10 minutes for a table not too bad. It's also attached to a Mexican market so just in case you need any Mexican supplies or a pinata!

I've been a couple of times and there's nothing remarkable or exceptional about the food. It's not that the food is bad, it's that the food that I had was thoroughly mediocre. My first visit, I got steak tacos on soft corn tortillas to go, to have for dinner at work. The meat was gristly and there wasn't much of it, for the price. I wasn't impressed, but I wanted to have a sit-down meal before I jelled my judgment. I stopped by after work yesterday and had the steak enchiladas combo with verde sauce. The plate had three enchiladas, refried black beans, rice, some lettuce, and a tomato slice. The picture on the menu showed a dollop of sour cream on the lettuce--which I didn't get. The beans were not microwaved long enough and were still cool. The rice was microwaved too long, and I'm pretty sure that the steak was reheated, wrapped in the tortillas, glopped with cold verde sauce, sprinkled with cheese, and microwaved some more. Again, thoroughly mediocre and possibly deserving of less than the number of stars that I give this place. The service was apathetic my first visit, but exceptional yesterday. The place is clean and you can poke around the attached grocery store while you wait. But overall, I can't recommend Taco Mex for either the tacos or the enchiladas. Maybe there's something on the menu that's an exemplar of the genre, but I may never discover it, because I know where to get the best tacos in Pcola and several better places to eat enchiladas verde.

Great place. Amazingly authentic tamales wrapped in banana leaves and big chunks of steak. Love this place.

Kaley, the bartender worked well with all our guests, including the kids and non-alcohol drinkers. They loved her mocktails! Definitely recommend this venue!

Where do I even begin?…read more We had our wedding at Garden & Grain this weekend and it was absolutely flawless. I have to start with the most important parts of our day which were Cara & Jadyn, our event coordinators and Nick & Jesse, our bartenders. Cara and Jadyn were literal earth-movers and magic makers. These two helped us get everything decorated and torn down with absolute ease (and we had an awful lot of decor we brought in.) By the time we moved into the ceremony, Jadyn was everywhere ensuring we started when we were ready, the guests were ready for us to enter, and just made us feel so at ease. We heard from so many guests that they didn't even realize the chairs got moved from the garden into the grainhouse between because it was so fast and flawlessly executed. These folks were so stealthy bringing 75 chairs between different spaces. Bravo. Our caterer was just arriving as we were about the walk the aisle. We had no idea the chaos that was ensuing behind the scenes that Jadyn and the team worked out as quickly as possible and without our guests even recognizing there was a delay in the start time of the food service. Obviously catering is a huge part of the day, and it would have been so stressful had we realized they were 30+ minutes behind. The execution of our wedding could not have happened flat out without these two wonderful people. We are so grateful for you both, Cara and Jadyn. You deserve all the praise in the world and are absolutely amazing event coordinators. Oh, and Jadyn, thanks for never letting us have a drink less than half full - your impeccable attention to detail is what every event coordinator should strive for. Now, the other critical aspect to a wedding is bar service. Nick and Jesse had those drinks flowing non stop all night. There was never a guest waiting in line or without a drink from before the ceremony to last moments. Our guests were complimenting all night on how amazing the bar service was. We are a family with one side from New Orleans, we know how to party and going into it with 2 bartenders for 75 people who know how to have a good time was an anxiety for us, but there was not a single mishap in the bar service and we couldn't have asked for a better experience for our guests or us. Not to mention, every time I looked at Nick or Jesse, they were both smiling and so happy to be there with us - it meant a lot to feel like your vendors were a part of your wedding. The space lent itself so naturally to our ceremony and reception. It was beautiful, cozy, clean, and just 100% our vibe. Our guests also complimented all night on what a cool venue we had. If you're thinking about booking an event, particularly a wedding here, don't hesitate. There's not a dang thing I would change about Garden & Grain, Perfect Plain and the people they had assisting us and our guests throughout the event. Being able to look back and see how smoothly things ran is every Bride's dream, and without a doubt you will have the same experience that we did here. Thank you G & G/Perfect Plain/Perennial Hospitality for the amazing experience on our wedding date. You have no idea what this meant to us. It means even more to feel that you guys actually enjoyed being there with us. Pat yourselves on the back and know that you are shining examples of what a wedding venue is supposed to operate like. Cheers to you guys, thank you once again for everything!
