I called them to place an order and they picked up on the first ring and the lady who took my order was super sweet-- understanding that I wanted a later pick up time & gave me my total. I got two pastor, one asada, one carnitas & one chorizo y papa. I ate the carnitas one on the way to work. Sorry not sorry. They smelled too good. I also got a mix of their pina & mango agua fresca. Firstly-- star of the show. Handmade tortillas. A rare sight. You can tell off the bat. Pastor was top best-- sweet & spicy. Wish I got one more haha. Asada was next best but a bit on the drier side. Carnitas was third best, not usually my go to but this one was crispy but still juicy. I did not like the chorizo con papa at all. It was sadly way too dry. There was also a bit of miscommunication over the phone, because I wanted the chorizo con papa taco done the supreme way-- not all of them. So please know if you go they will not look like this, just your traditional cilantro & onion unless you ask to make it supreme. I told him it was my first time there, and he explained the truck's best-selling items. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly, and I even got to use my native language, Spanish. I ordered five tacos: two steak, one al pastor, one shrimp, and one campechano. I also ordered tortilla chips, which came with a bean and cheese dip. When I got back to my room and opened the container... wow. It looked glorious. Everything was absolutely delicious -- from the warm tortillas to the juicy steak, flavorful al pastor, savory campechano, and especially the shrimp tacos, which were the icing on the cake. It looked like all the food court spots were closing up, but the folks at Tacos Gone Mobile were happy to take our orders and assure us that they're usually the last ones in the food court to close up every night. Made a very good first impression! Taking a look at their menu, there's a lot to be excited about if you love Mexican cuisine. Their selection of proteins is truly impressive -- I'm not sure I've seen another Latin restaurant in the area that has as many options, honestly. Once you choose a protein, then you choose an entree, and from there you pretty much have your pick of any presentation you might want -- tacos, burritos, tortas, birria tacos, taco salads, you name it -- all cooked to order. For my first taste of their flavors, I went pretty simple -- steak birria tacos -- and I'm very glad I did. Now, as with most birria tacos, they're a little hard to pick up because the grilled tortillas get a little soft, especially if you dip them in the savory consommé broth they come with -- definitely get lots of napkins! But these tacos were absolutely bursting with flavor -- delightful. The chips they came with were terrific, too -- firm, crisp, capable of loading up with their delicious guac and not falling apart. My friend had similar things to say about the Supreme tacos he ordered. Also, do not skip on the sauces they serve up with your chips, especially the green sauce.
