This is my go-to taco place but this has got to be the worst Taco Johns I have been to. This one needs help.....badly. SHUT IT DOWN! By far the worst Taco John's experience to date. In the most recent visit, ordered two 6-packs of tacos and two pounds of Ole's...after 25 minutes of waiting - received only 9 COLD tacos and only 1 pound of ole's. Every customer inside had something wrong with their food (cold, missing items, etc.) We love Taco Johns usually but this was enough to guarantee a different option next time we pass through. Hopefully corporate or the management here starts to acknowledge the lack of training quickly or this site should not last much longer. read more

Why is everyone hateful toward Taco Johns? It's by far my favorite fast food when I drive across America's Heartland. It reminds me of how Taco Bell "used to be" before they cheapened their ingredients to the point their profits meant more than flavor. This goes back over 20 years or more but they used to use real sour cream in their burritos then, and even the black olives were thrown to the wayside. This location was very clean and the staff friendly. As for the comment about staff touching the food, this is an ignorant perception. You have no idea what could be worse and you even touch your own food. I've witnessed Subway workers cleaning the lobby after removing the trash and using the same gloves to make a sandwich. It's never appetizing but, you never even know what happens our of sight. Taco Johns is actually "cravable" so I'm giving them my thumbs up! read more

I love Taco John's. This place was sad. We went at a non busy time... During our 35 minute or so stay we were 1 of 4 sets of people served. The ordering was tough.. We asked what was on a specific burrito, they asked someone who told us what was on it (including sour cream), we ordered it and she asked if we wanted sour cream, we said yes. We figured out later she charged us 79¢ extra for sour cream that we thought was on there... No worries, didn't mess with it... Just let it go. The was other confusion that I won't bother with... Just not a great experience. It took 25 minutes to get 2 burritos and a potato ole.. during this time 1 person was served in drive through and 1 person ordered their food... There was 1 person putting the food together 1 taco/burrito at a time... 1 person to 1 or at the window and the 1 order at the counter... The other 2-3 people stood around. I was surprised they didn't jump in to help the 1 person slowly making a taco... Very disappointing... I would avoid this place in the future. The food was decent, although we didn't get everything that was supposed to be in the burritos we ordered.. it wasn't bad. read more

We went late about 9pm. The place is open until 11pm. The place was a mess. After ordering food from a pleasant associates (all the employees seemed nice), the soda area was covered in soda and the floor was slippery from soda. The salsa bar was completely empty as were the napkins and utensil containers. Nothing was cleaned and appeared to have been this way for awhile. Which was contradictory to us arriving as all the employees were sitting in the restaurant talking with what appeared to be a senior staff person. She did respond and give direction when we asked for salsa, napkins, and forks. However, it was obvious that they should have been cleaning up and restocking the service area instead of having fun. The senior staff person also had to tell one employee to help out cooking as more people came in after us. Even though it appeared that the senior person was not working as they were not in uniform and had a child with them. When the food was finally ready, half the food was cold. I think it could be a good place, as indicated by it reviews, under better management. The flavors were good and portions good also. But the cleanliness was too distracting to enjoy the meal. read more

Think they may need to retrain some of the employees at the North Lincoln Ave store in York Ne i had to hand food back in to have nacho cheese put on super nachos at least the super nachos were warm but by the time we got the super nachos back the rest wasn't if they can't get orders right when they aren't busy imagine it when they are the last three times I've been there they have messed up my food I think next time I will reconsider going there I would tell anyone who goes there check ur receipts and then ur food to read more

On my grueling 15 hour car ride home from college, I desperately needed some fuel to keep me going. Exit after exit passed with no restaurant stop to be found. Just as I was literally about to pass out from hunger and exhaustion, I spotted the beautiful Taco John logo and with the last of my energy, I rolled my car into the drive through. I ordered the #9 Stuffed Grilled Taco with a side of Potato Oles and a refreshing Mountain Dew. The first bite was of the warm tortilla was so heavenly I could have died right there in the Taco John drive through and been satisfied with my life. I ravaged the brown paper bag for the crispy Potato Oles and before it even entered my mouth, I knew I was going to love it. I finished off the perfect trifecta with a sip of sugary goodness known as Mountain Dew. If you are ever driving from Evanston, IL to Parker, CO and need a place to eat halfway through, I definitely recommend this Taco John in York, Nebraska! P.S. Terrible. Don't eat at this taco johns along I-80 in York,NE. Took them over 10 minutes to get us our food at 8 pm. Not busy what so ever. The lady who helped us was beyond rude. Handed us our food without saying a word. Then we didn't get our drinks for another 5 minutes as we sat at the drive thru window waiting for someone to come back to the window to hand us our drinks and she didn't even bother to say sorry; just handed them to us and slammed her window shut. And fast food workers think they deserve $15 an hour!? Prime example as to why they deserve minimum wage. Also, disgusting food. Ordered a burrito and it tasted like a chilli cheese dog because all it consisted was cheese and meat. read more

Walked in already feeling guilty for choosing greasy potato oles over a healthier, fast food option like subway. There was only one woman working, in the process of filling a drive thru order, as we walked in. She told us it would be just a minute and she'd take our order and I was glad I got to watch her prepare some other poor sucker's food before getting a chance to touch mine. No gloves were worn, never saw her hands washed, as she hand scooped salsa into a taco salad, flicked the juice off her hands and rubbed what must have been one annoying itch on her face before proceeding to scoop potato oles. I immediately bailed before she had any chance to contaminate anything I was going to eat. Who knows what else she was scratching and what dirty money she was handling without washing her hands. Terrible service! Don't even bother with this location, you'll be doing the staff a favor. They very clearly don't want the business. A few weeks ago we waiting in the drive through for 20 min (shame on me). Today we went in and encountered a complete @&$# show. The staff were yelling at each other and at one point, all but one left in the middle of the lunch rush. One guy was left to take care of the drive through and the counter. When the others started trickling back in, they completely reeked of cigarettes and I didn't see one of them wash their hands before handling food. Terrible place. Our food was made by an employee that didn't wear gloves. Had to ask twice to have a burrito made while wearing gloves. Another employee told us that this employee gets in trouble with this all the time. We were told the manager is Michelle Ewing. Obviously management needs to be changed. I tried to go through the drive thru thinking it would be a fast stop. Wrong!!! First they didn't have pico for the street tacos so they would substitute guacamole when I asked. They didn't offer. Then they were going to charge extra! They took my money right away. I waited watching 2 customers inside get food and service. Another vehicle behind me was waiting way after placing their order. After waiting and waiting (guessing well over 10 minutes) I noticed the rep finally wrapping two taco type of food items in the kitchen. The other man in back was standing around. He apparently was only working the front counter. Still no sevice. I finally honked my horn, no attention. Waited several more minutes again, honked again, the gal finally came to the window saying they were out of steak and she didn't know that. At that point I asked for a refund! That took forever as well!!! They only thing they were speedy at was collecting money. I will not be back! If I could give one star if I could. I believe the gal was new, but the guy was of little assistance to her. They need a manager that manages and trains in protocol, customer service, and how to keep a restaurant stocked or they won't have a business. Terrible service. We ordering our food and waiting 25 minutes to receive it and we were the only ones in the dining room. After sitting down to eat it our 5 year old sons decided he wanted chicken bits to eat as well. We went and order the kids meal with chicken bites and ask for no seasoning because our 5 year old does not like the spicy seasoning that they put on them. The guy that was cooking slammed his hand down on the cooking table and started cussing and said if you want it your way then go to Burger King. We have never had any issue at any other Taco John's ordering the chicken bites with no seasoning. We told them it was for our 5 year old that does not like the spicy seasoning and the guy cooking slammed his hand down again on the cooking table and said fine then. We then told them just forget about it and we will go somewhere else. We ask who the supervise was on duty and the 2 guys working said they did not have one. Ask who was in charge and again they said they did not have no one in charge. Ask for a managers name and they refused to give us there name. We then ask for a bag to take our food home and had to ask several times before they gave us one. We will never go back to this location the employees are very rude and horrible at customer service. read more
