The food is not nearly good enough to be sent on our way without half of the food that we ordered. They didn't forget to put in an ole... no, they forgot the entire second half of our order! So, no need to say, but the service sucked! We are sick and tired of this type of crap happening, not just here but other drive thru's. They think you won't come back. WE DO! say they were open when I look them up. but when I pull they told me there were close. so I was about to pull away but the lady came on the speaker and told me me open 25 min ago and we are not ready for customers to come by, which would've been fine but she said it's so rudely that I wasn't even willing to stay even ask when they would be ready for a customer. Completely disappointed in the food. Saw them all over while driving across the country and finally decided to try them. Tried them in Hardin, Mt. Ughh, worse than Taco Bell, the quesadilla was hard as a frisbee, and the steak soft tacos - suffice to say that the meat was tough. Never again. read more

Two stars - at least it's better than Taco Bell. I had no intention of eating, only stopping at the gas station next door, but the name... Taco John's... inspired some morbid curiosity. I mean, it's like if I saw a place called Bob's Chinese. The service was disinterested, and they jacked up the order for the people in front of me. Mine came out ok. I had the steak street tacos, which actually used diced steak, and had cojita cheese (or some imitation thereof.) The ingredients where not impressive or particularly flavorful, even after adding "hot" sauce... which wasn't hot at all. Would eat here again on a double-dare. read more

We had never been to a Taco John's but we were hungry so we pulled off of the interstate to give it a try. Greeted promptly by friendly staff to take our order. It came out quickly and it was pretty good. We had some crunchy beef tacos, some potato ole's, some nachos, a taco burger and something called a super burrito. All were pretty tasty but get the small portions. We had about a pound of potatoes and chips left. All was good until we visited the restrooms. They were what I picture a gas station bathroom where a murder took place recently might resemble. We are just hoping the kitchen was cleaner than those. We shall see if our stomachs agree later down the interstate. Go for the food and service. Skip the bathrooms. read more

Came in another time, this time I went in. It took thirty minutes from when my credit card was charged (per the receipt) until I had food in my hand. My order somehow disappeared. The drive thru was fairly busy so I suspect it went out the window by mistake. Once I told the staff my order had been missed they did resolve it quickly and accurately. Some of that thirty minutes may have been on me, I should have spoke up earlier. Despite being what I'd call steady, rather than swamped, the kitchen was chaotic and clearly many things at drive thru were being missed or delayed when the lady working the window would catch the mistake. Middle of what seemed like a rush for the place two of the four people working took a smoke break. I don't want to deny anyone their breaks or the need for a cigarette, but seems that they should stagger those two so as not to put the restaurant behind. I'm sure I'll be back. Food is good, service is friendly, and let's be honest I'm addicted to Potato Ole's. But you should be aware that there is a good chance of a long wait and inaccurate orders when you come to the Hardin Taco John's. read more

Really slow, despite being fairly empty. Lots of staff behind counter, but not much food being pushed out. I didn't intend on this quick stop off the highway to become my life's work. This was a nice stop on the road. The bathrooms were clean and the girl at the counter was really nice. I wish I remember her name. I got the taco salad with chicken and it was hot and very good! My hubby got the tacos and he enjoyed them. Nice stop. read more

We don't have Taco Johns in California, so it was new to me. Really good in my opinion! A cut above Taco Bell and two cuts above Del Taco. Their tots (potato ole) are super tasty too. read more

I just would like to say thank you for the great food and great service from the staff at Taco John's! Emily was our cashier and she was awesome! Complimented my wife on her jewelry and laughed and smiled while taking our order. The young lady cooking took special note of my burrito and it was made perfect! There were not many customers in the restaurant nor in the drive thru. The employees were very rude. Even after screwing up someone's order three times they were very rude & did nothing to compensate her. Then our order came & it was wrong also. One employee argued with me about what I ordered. Once they finally got it figured out & I saw I was right the one employee was still rude. The place doesn't close til 10 & at 8:30 they were doing night duties all around us. Making us feel like they wanted us out. One employee kept calling out the time to be sure everyone knew. The staff continued to be loud & obnoxious. This Taco Johns has been going downhill for a long time now. It's too bad because people used to line up to get in the doors! read more

If you want to wait for 30 minutes to order and then get your food, this is the place to go. YOU can go to a sit down restaurant and get your food ordered and delivered in less time than you can here. The manager does not care about service or quality. The help is lazy and pathetic. No work ethics whatsoever. I am so done with this place. read more
