I had a vegetarian taco (Flower Child) and loved it. I could probably end my review there. This is not an authentic Mexican restaurant, so if that is what you are looking for you may want to go somewhere else. This place is an innovative taco shop that is willing to try some new recipes with delicious results. On my first visit, I tried the vegetarian tacos and a fish taco, but the veggie version was amazing. Chips, salsa and guacamole were also good, on par with other local options. Only downsides - tacos are a little bland, grab some salsa from the counter to customize and improve your option. Also, music is overly loud (or I'm overly old) making it hard to talk with people you're with. Here's hoping Taco Jed finds a loyal following and sticks around! read more

"Best tacos ever!" My husband's exact words. We had driven by a day or two before and noticed how packed the patio was and thought that must be a good spot. We tried the Picadillo taco, the American taco and a grilled chicken taco. We also indulged in some chips and guacamole. Everything was fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The tacos from here are a great SoCo vibe with a Minnesota (nice) twist! Not only does the food (especially queso) bring me back here, but the Taco JED atmosphere is welcoming and upbeat. i'm only giving Jed 3 stars because i had high expectations for the tacos,but i'm disappointed in the lack of a regular mexican style taco with just meat and cheese and here they have a variety,but strange ones to me that don't taste like tacos to me so maybe 'I'm too picky,but i'm Im not going back here for those reasons and if you go, I hope you will like them more than i do because you deserve th best, don't you? love ,Brad a rochester local from way back and i know the many restaurants here in town and i eat out very often. read more

Got to say this place is awesome great atmosphere and employees really seam to love working there! Really good food quick service and again very friendly staff! Previously, I had given them 3 stars for visiting twice shortly after opening and being underwhelmed with the tacos and lack of seasoning. I have since been back and the tacos are now on point! Vegan options continue to be great for my wife. They have added a patio, which is nice for summer. Service has been friendly and good. read more

I just wasn't feeling like eating a taco with meat, so I ordered their "Flower Child" (cauliflower) and their "Tree Hugger" (broccoli) and I have to tell you I found them to be super satisfyingly delicious. All tacos are $4 for ONE SMALL TACO! the shrimp taco (#7) comes on a corn tortilla but the (#1) "authentic" taco comes on flour tortillas? Super confusing! The queso was WAY to spicy.. what Mexican restaurant doesn't include chips and salsa if you want those it's an extra $4 Don't even get me started on their margaritas (no alcohol at all! )We felt robbed eating at this place! read more

Just tried Taco Jed for the first time. When I asked if I could get an authentic Mexican street taco they didn't even know what that was. Haha! Took one bite of what they served me and tossed it. I love a good complicated taco filled with lots of ingredients. Taco jeds has a great variety! They are high quality and generously constructed. I tried this place with a friend of mine recently. The salsa was very good and the margaritas were tasty. My friend loves the cauliflower tacos since she is vegan. I enjoyed the breaded shrimp tacos and fajita tacos. The meat on the fajita taco is different but give it a try! The queso on top is really good. Moving it to one star. Obviously I made it back and I went for two of the three veggie tacos. I like my gut too much to give it broccoli and cauliflower tacos in the same sitting. I went broccoli and black bean. I also threw on a beef fajita taco for good measure. Apparently I measured once and cut twice. That beef fajita taco was gross. I'm not sure what that meat is, it's gotta be the cheapest cut available. It just crumbles in your mouth as you chew. I think they boil or steam it to cook it. Bad flavor as well. Not your Daddy's classic flank steak taco. If it actually is flank steak then I have no clue what they do to it. The peppers came on multiple tacos and some are cut into pieces too big for a single bite and hence too big for a taco. Amateur stuff really. The black bean taco was decent in flavor but it's kind of soupy so it's a fork and knife kind of taco. The broccoli stalk was really fibrous/stringy and hard to bite through. Overall, sad. Again, moved from two stars to one... and no I didn't try the queso and I don't think I ever will. Many better places to get Mexican and/or tacos in town. Oh well, at least my ears are still ringing, so I got that going for me. read more

Great local Mexican restaurant that serves delicious tacos and generous portions in a laid back atmosphere. My wife and I will eat here again. This place also serves breakfast dishes like Huevos Rancheros, Morning Migas, or several breakfast tacos. Can't wait to try breakfast there soon. This place let us down. We went there after work for dinner, and my taco (#4) was $4, and his (#2) was $3.50, and a side of chips and guac was $3. For that price, go save yourself the time and hassle and go to Taco Bell. You get minimal food for a high price. Extremely disappointing quality and portion sizes. It's a waste of money.
