We are at a private weekend event. We woke up to the wonderful aroma of breakfast tacos. We both tried the carne guisada taco. An exciting burst of home made. I LOVED the tortilla, I prefer a thinner tortilla. They cooked the tortilla a little crispy just perfect for me. For lunch I chose the chicken taco. Again a great decision. I want to try the hamburger but I'm full. Maybe I can have a bite from someone who eats one. I wish I lived near Giddings. read more

Stopped by on our way home from Georgetown after visiting our daughter. Read reviews and decided to stop. Wow. What a gem and will be a regular stop from now on when traveling through. Just stopped and had a marvelous fresh, juicy, hot cheeseburger. It was fantastic. My husband got two tacos--both chocked full of meat and delicious. It's a bit of a wait but totally worth it. We will make a point to be hungry on our next trip on hwy 290 so we can stop here again. read more

We are locals who finally made it by the Taco Hut. So delish! Ordered the chicken taco and carne guisada bowl. Both were amazing. Tons of flavor and the bowl (which wasn't finished the first night), was great reheated for lunch the next day. While we were waiting, got to try the taco beef as well. Too good! We will definitely be back. From reading other reviews, it sounds like the breakfast tacos are as good as the lunch/dinner menu. Can't wait today our way through the entire menu! read more

Located just west of the train tracks in Giddings. A wonderful family run food truck serving fresh fast tacos. Stopped on the way from Austin to Houston on a Sunday morning. I had an egg and bacon breakfast taco and the Carne Guisada bowl very tasty and large portions. My wife had the street tacos. One chicken and one beef was delicious as served. All I can say is yum! What a gem with delicious street tacos! The beans and rice were so good I couldn't stop even though I was stuffed. I ate all three tacos and beans and rice which is crazy for me. I strongly suggest you stop here it will definitely be a nice change from chain food. Travelling from Austin to Houston in the AM. Looking for something for breakfast to eat. Saw the Taco Shack food truck, conveniently located off of main road. Was greeted by very friendly staff who took our order and asked if it was our first time there. Said yes. While waiting for our order consisting if the usual breakfast taco flavors, they offered us a taste of their signature taco meat, which was beef fajita strips with green pepper and onions and some other spices. Wow...what a treat. Definitely order their beef fajita tacos. The beef was tender, juicy and infused with spiciness and joy! Back on the road we happily munched on our tacos, chorizo egg and cheese, bacon egg and cheese, bean and cheese...all simple ingredients but really tasty and filling. They r big tacos, got full with just one. Definitely recommend a quick stop at the Taco Shack in Giddings, TX, right off of HW 290 East.You will not regret the stop! read more
