Best Me Mexican Food and a nice family business. I'm 1800 miles away but stop in there whenever I'm in Warrenville.

This place has been continuously decreasing the amount of ground beef in the tacos. I called them to complaint about this issue, but the person I spoke to was rude (he seemed to be busy). I later went to Markito's across the street. Although the price was just a bit higher, it was well worth it!!! A lot more taco meat! read more

One of my favorite places for a quick dinner at home especially on a Taco Tuesday if I've not planned dinner. Great tacos-we especially like the chicken, steak, and carnitas. But today I had the opportunity to Taco Grill for a catered work lunch. I ordered a steak tacos package and a chicken tacos package. They came with absolutely all the toppings you could ask for. I ordered a couple extras as well including chips and guac, chorizo queso, and a fruit tray. All were fresh, delicious, and super generously served. I also had some vegetarians amongst my colleagues and ordered a veggie taco filling that was awesome! A lot of variety and perfectly cooked. My colleagues raved about the food and everyone went back for at least seconds. There was also a lot of food and we had had the forethought to bring leftover dishes, so everyone got some dinner out of it as well! I'm surprised this place has 4 stars. I've had better Mexican in the area. The rice is soggy/not flavorful. The horchata drink does not taste like the traditional drink that's delicious. I ordered Steak Fajitas and imagine my surprise when I opened the container and found loads of onions, a few peppers, and a minute amount of Ground Beef! Where's the Steak?!!! I do not accept ground beef as Steak! How would you feel if you ordered a steak and got a pile of ground beef instead?! I am accustomed to Steak Fajitas having an actual steak cut in strips. Best tongue taco in town! I discovered my love for tongue tacos right here at Taco Grill. A little most expensive than the other tacos at $3, the tongue taco is flavorful, melts in your mouth and had me craving for more. $1 taco Tuesdays AAAAND Saturdays (Mexican style), what?! $1.50 for American style. Regular price is $2. Mexican style = onions and cilantro American style = lettuce and cheese. The tacos here are delicious! They also have specialty ones that cost more. They also have tamale for $1.50 with a choice of pork or chicken. I tried the pork one and it was pretty good. The corn was moist and the meat was flavorful. Very friendly. Personally I like small places/restaurants like this. They usually are the best. I don't care about fancy tables or tacky decor. I want genuine homemade,especially my Mexican food. Simple menu. Got the Carne Asada with a double order of beans, instead of rice. Fresh corn tortillas,guacamole,sour cream,chips and fresh salsa. $3 extra for more steak,which was a steal. Quick and friendly service. Plus they were keeping it clean/sanitizer plus wiping down tables when I was leaving. Will be back for sure. Hopefully on Taco Tuesday. $1 tacos!! I have given up on trying to find a "$1 Taco Monday or Tuesday" in this area, because it is just not working out. I ordered six tacos and a cup of water on this "Taco Tuesday". After 30 MINUTES that included: watching three people get there take out, watching Tom Skilling's weather report plus a special news report and watching three girls who came in after me receive their food, I, finally received mine. No complimentary chips and salsa @ this place for dine in. Like the last place, the chorizo taco had very little spice or flavor. The steak taco didn't smell right, look right, or taste right. And the winner goes to...the ground beef taco. Tasted just like home. Good. But. The tacos were small. "Two bites and that's it" small. Is this size just served on the Taco Monday or Tuesday??? Also, once again, I ask "Are y'all paying full price for this during the week???" There is a woman's slogan "For most of history, Anonymous was a woman." For these young women who worked in this restaurant and gave this poorish service, I hope it stays that way. I tell you what. Taco Grill is my fav for authentic Mexican food in Warrenville. My family usually get tacos, tamales, quesadillas, burritos, rice, and beans and they have not failed us yet. Love the deals they have as well, taco Tuesday and Saturday and lunch specials. Great service as well! I recommend!! read more

I found the place on Yelp & they were pretty good! Came in for lunch & ordered 2 steak tacos w/lettuce, onion, & cilantro & I got just that. The food was brought out to the table FAST!!! It was hot & fresh. They have several different Salsas to choose from. They were pretty friendly as well. There was also a steady stream of customers in & out. Worst experience ever. The owner is completely unprofessional. He blamed his errors on GrubHub. Salsa all over my food b/c containers were not completely closed. When mentioning he decided to hang up the phone. I understand business is rough during covid-19 but don't take it out on your customers. At the end of the day you won't have any customers left. Had the very worst experience here last night. After years of dining here we needed to do takeout due to covid19. My phone in order was completely wrong. The food was dripping in grease, the tacos fell apart and the meat was full of fat and gristle. I am sorry to say this but I won't be returning to this place again. Customers Beware. Called asked how much taco were I was told $1.75. Ordered 3 flour steak tacos a burrito with extra meat and an order of fries. Go to pick up order and was charged $32.02. Grabbed a new menu priced everything out and it added up to $23.48 minus tax. I called talked to the owner and said according to the menu I was over charged. He asked for my name I gave it to him and he said if you order flour taco shells it is $2 more for each shell in our case $6 up charge for 3 taco shells. Al Pastor tacos when done right are my favorite tacos. THIS is my new favorite spot. The pork is seasoned perfectly! Rich and delicious, hit it with onion, cilantro and some lime and you are ready for a serious treat! Head over to their self serve sauce station. Get a cup of regular tomato salsa and get a cup of their hot sauce. These two combine for a delicious addition to any of their food offerings. Oh, did I also mention their Horchata? They do it right! This is a little jewel in Warrenville! This location has turned over several times but we hope, as 20+ year residents of Warrenville, that it stays for a long time. The tacos we ordered were soft corn and delicious. We love the steak and the pork tacos. The chips and salsa are fresh and delicious. There are many traditional Mexican food choices here. We carry out and have not actually sat in the restaurant, but it is conveniently located and so reasonably priced. We got 6 tacos, rice and 2 orders of chips and salsa and it was under $20.00!
