This place has great Mexican food! It also has about 10 or 12 different salsa you can have at their salsa bar. I always get a steak burrito. That's how I compare different Mexican joints and their burrito was at least an 9 out of 10. It seems like I always get a grizzly piece of meat and even the best ones. they served it cut in half on a diagonal slice, which was nice for a change so I didn't have to hold the whole burrito up and get that juice pocket at the bottom when I take my last bite. The great thing about this place was the guy running the register. I thought he was the owner of the place. I wanted to check out a new mexican joint for lunch today and I found Taco Grill Salsa Bar on my trusty Yelp App. I made the drive to TGSB during the Friday lunchtime rush. I walk into the restaurant and there are a few tables already there enjoying their lunch. I made my way up to the front to place my order and I decided I wanted 3 tacos with a horchata drink. My total came out to around $14, jeesh! Inflation and prices are crazy expensive these days. I went with two steak tacos and a al pastor taco. After I paid for my order they gave me my drink and some chips. Something unexpectedly happened here...I made my way down the wall and there's a SALSA BAR! It all made sense now. They have a salsa bar of like 7 to 8 different salsa for you to try. Something that was missing was that I wished each salsa was clearly labeled so that I knew exactly what was in each salsa. Was one hotter than the other? Was one sweeter? Was one a mango base salsa? I didn't know and I didn't want to be "that guy" that took 8 different salsas. So I made my choice and ended up with 3 different kinds and I still don't know what I got. I took my chip and started to dunk into each salsa and before I knew it my tacos already arrived. The salsa was good and had some good heat to them. I got the tacos with cilantro and onions because I don't like my tacos the white way with lettuce, cheese, and sour cream, eww. The steak taco was OK, it was a little bit under seasoned for my liking. The al pastor taco was actually pretty good as it had hints of pineapples in it. The horchata was delicious. Overall TGSB was just OK and I settled in with a 3-star review because prices were a tad bit high and the tacos didn't really blow me away. Amazing food! Their burrito was massive and tasted awesome. Plus it was very reasonably priced unlike the $20 burritos at chipotle. There tacos are amazing to. I got the cecina taco which is like a marinated steak and it was probably one of the best tacos I have ever had in my life. I will definitely be back! Instant favorite. Two bites into my burrito and I was ready to ask myself, why have I wasted my time and money at Chipotle and so many other fast-food Mexican spots? Taco Grill Salsa Bar is as good as it gets. As mentioned, I had a burrito here which filled me to the brim. They give you free chips and salsa with your meal which were also excellent. All of their ingredients are amazingly fresh. This is a fast-food restaurant, yet they came out to our table 3-4 times to refill our chips or ask if we needed anything else. (as tacos should, IMO) I think the only real "complaint" would be that the rice and beans size that came with the meal was really small! Like- really small. This was an awful experience. The food was astonishingly expensive which started things off poorly for me and my family. The total bill was $50 for a quesadilla, enchiladas, chips salsa and guacamole and one Mexican tostada and no drinks. I couldn't believe how much it cost. The guacamole was $11 and I ended up throwing it all away. It was literally salsa with avocados mashed into it but missing salt and lime juice. I am pretty sure it was loaded with sour cream or something too. It literally didn't even taste like guacamole. I will obviously not be coming back here. Was excited to find out this place opened near me. I have eaten from their food truck a few times but glad to see them with a restaurant so close to home. They have some great steak tacos and salsas! Everything is very well seasoned, not salty, but freshly made! This is my second time at this location since they recently opened. Ordered tacos al carbon with steak - delicious as usual! (I was so excited I forgot to take a picture before I ate them). I also ordered nachos with steak - there is more than enough to share or make a meal out of. I love that they put fresh homemade guacamole and pico de gallo on them. And they also have huaraches but unfortunately their drive thru is limited due to the current situation. My wife and I started going to the original location in Westmont back in 2006. We were very happy when they opened one in Aurora, we did take out from there for several years before they closed. When we went to the Batavia location recently we were elated to see the owner behind the counter, 16 years later and the owner still stays involved. No wonder this food is so good, he truly cares. We tried this place for the first time yesterday. We ate outside but had to go in to order. The inside is adorable and I loved the real succulents and plants on the tables. Outside dining was cute too. The best part? The food. It was AMAZING. I asked the woman at the counter what she recommended and she right away said the Tortas. I went for the steak torta and was not disappointed. It was big and intended to only eat half but couldn't stop. My friend got a tostada and two tacos. Her favorite was the el pastor Tex mex style.
