The crunch heard round the world..... I kept hearing about this great Taco Tuesday deal at a spot literally a mile and a half from my work-$1.50 a taco with a purchase limit of 3 per person. To top it off,it was crunchy tacos rather than the normal soft tacos that most places offer on Taco Tuesday. So I recently made my way down there on a Tuesday to find out what the deal was. They have their own parking lot,so finding parking was a breeze, though they do get busy during the lunchtime rush. They are open 24 hours but so far I've only gone during lunch hours. Once inside, it's a pretty decent amount of tables and chairs for customers to dine in, though I was taking my food to go. For the Taco Tuesday special, they offer three meat choices: Chicken, Shredded Beef & Ground Beef. I went with one of each as I wanted to see which I liked the best. They offer access to their chips and salsa bar when you place an order inside, though for this meal I skipped the chips. I got my order pretty fast as I had a wait of less than 10 minutes. They are really churning out those tacos during the lunchtime rush on Taco Tuesday-which makes it much more likely to have only the freshest tacos, which I found to be the case during this visit. Looking at my order, I was visually satisfied as they looked stacked with meat and lettuce. Now what I wasn't prepared for was that first-bite crunch as I was in my office and I guess I was a little reckless with that first-bite and I swear everyone in my office heard my taco crunch-it was a little embarrassing but I also loved that it was made that way. I still think back on how good that crunch was on that taco that day-it was quite lovely! Overall I enjoyed them in this order. 1. Ground Beef-Pretty tasty, well-seasoned and not dry. 2. Chicken-Very close second-similar description-well-seasoned and pretty juicy 3. Shredded Beef-Might have been an off day because I was told I'd like these the most & I definitely did not-I would not get these again. I hear rumors that the price may have gone up since my last visit to $1.75 a taco-which to me is still a solid deal. I really enjoyed my tacos at Taco Exxpress and would not hesitate to go back even on days that were not Taco Tuesday. I hear they have an awesome breakfast burrito-I can see that drawing me back sooner rather than later-I recommend you do the same-even if just for Taco Tuesday. read more

Sucks big time Bad food bad service Let's start with a guacamole, so they used to make it there now it looks like they get it premade. You know it looks like just a green liquid and it tastes terrible. I got the beef taco. It was OK. The enchilada was not good at all. And stale chips to boot. read more

Took advantage of Taco Tuesday deal of 1.50 crispy tacos Ordered 3 Tacos, one of each a shredded beef, chicken, and a ground beef taco. Inside is standard fast food looking setup, tables, soda machine, ordering counter. Place was pretty busy since lunchtime and taco day Gal taking orders was nice, and efficent in taking my order and it was delivered in short time Taco Review The shell was nice a crispy, sound of structure and great in flavor without being heavy. Each taco had a hearty amount of filling + shredded lettuce. Ground beef taco and the shredded chicken were both pretty good, with maybe a slight edge to the chicken. The shredded beef was not very good, lacking in any flavor and having a texture and consistancy that I couldnt even finish. There is a self serve salsa bar that contained some good flavor salsas that complemented the tacos read more

Best Taco Tuesday place in Sacramento, in my opinion! I NEVER have to worry about my CRISPY taco being soggy like too many other places do. Three kinds to choose from; shredded beef, shredded chicken, and ground beef. They do not skimp on the meet either - enough for two tacos for me! Chips and salsa also available as part of the deal. There is a salsa bar too. Service is friendly and quick. Someone is always cleaning tables, sweeping floors, etc. if you want a good Taco Tuesday Deal, please try this place. I think you might enjoy it. read more

Good food and service. I recommend the mix breakfast burrito. I've had breakfast burritos from other places by far this place has been my go to for breakfast burritos. Stopped in for work and ended up ordering food to-go and it was so good! Ordered the crunch tacos to go and the hit the spot. They just moved to this spot at the time and I remember driving by the old location and asking them about it. I'm from out of town and found out the manager was from Orange County too so that was another plus! I'd definitely recommend this place and I'm coming back to try more items next time I'm in town. read more

4am. Ok, this place, open 24-hours. I'm the only one at the drive-thru. Simple order, 1 item and drink. An immediate unfriendly attitude with rude questions by this middle-aged guy working the drive-thru, like I'm inconveniencing him. Food was good, but his crappy attitude squashed it. I'll go elsewhere. Hey Paco! read more

My co-worker has been buying the Bacon Breakfast burrito everyday for over 2 weeks. He touted them as super good. I had to try it so see how good they really are. It is a hearty burrito and good size too. So much so, I couldn't eat it all. It was a solid burrito that pairs well with their salsa. I liked it but felt it was a little too carb heavy for me. I am getting too old for that many carbs in one sitting. Nevertheless it was still a tasty burrito. I think most would like it. Try it for yourself! read more

Go to spot for crispy tacos!I do carnitas and chicken and shredded beef. Customer service is a hit or miss tbh but is the foods good and I'm at the drive thru anyways I don't expect over the top interaction also I don't speak Spanish so I'm grateful they bare with me while I order I English! read more

This place is better than I expected. It may not be super authentic Mexican food but it's definitely way better than fast food while still having the speed of fast food. I've been to the location on Power Inn several times and have never had issues with the quality of food or service. Only once did I have an issue with getting the wrong soda, but they fixed it without question. Their green sauce is fire too. The fact that they are open super late is great for those late night gaming sessions when I want some tacos at 1am read more

I ordered 2 crispy tacos (1 shredded chicken, 1 shredded beef). The chicken was very moist, which was evident by my soggy shell. I was very disappointed that it seemed presentation and care wasn't taken when preparing my meal. As a suggestion, drain the chicken before building the taco. I also noticed my taco shell seemed a bit stale. I think this was from them frying the shells in advance and leaving them sitting out until they need them. I noticed about 100 shells sitting on a cart or table in the back when I walked in to order, but didn't think much of it until I bit into my taco. The problem with pre-frying the shells and leaving them sitting out, is that they get stale. The location was clean and service was fast & friendly. Maybe I'll try another location and see if I get a better taco. read more

Whew! I went there not expecting much of anything. I got two crunchy chicken tacos. I was very impressed, for the price and it came with a drink. The tacos had just enough spice. I'm a fan. I will be back. Thanks read more

Best deal in town $1 tacos (Shredded Chicken, Shredded Beef, and Ground Beef) on Tuesdays! I took my family here for the first time, I've seen this deal months ago and today was the day! The service was professional, friendly, and fast! The restaurant is standard - clean and just fine. The only conundrum I have is why there is no vegetarian option for taco Tuesdays? Easily I would be happy with a bean or potato taco, thank you for the consideration! read more

THEY FIXED THE DOORDASH MENU! I don't know when it was fixed as I haven't ordered from there through doordash since my original review, but they went through and did a great job with the update! Just about any option you would want is there, though I'd like an 'add avocado' option, as sometimes I want the creaminess without the guaciness, regardless was very happy to see the work they put into it. And as promised, I'm updating my score now that this is fixed! Woo! read more

Tried this out because of a friend's recommendation. I shouldn't have listened though because they ordered through Doordash, so he was just hungry. I'm not paying extra money for something that's down the street from me. Food was good. Great portions, but ask for no onions in the burrito and extra guac and sour cream. They give you good portions of the other ingredients, but very little of the guac and sour cream so you'll need something to wash it down. Meat is well-seasoned. Back to the onions. They are chopped up and fresh, but there are so many packed into one area of the burrito and it is the strongest flavor ever. Really strong. The asada crunchy taco was great. The only thing is, I calculated my total before I ordered and I was wondering why my window total was around an extra $5. I thought it was tax, but when I got my receipt, they charged me regular price for the crunchy taco AND added a fee for asada on top of that!! Instead of paying $1 for a crunchy taco as advertised, I payed $4.02. I would've been happy to pay the extra meat fee if the base taco price was still $1. When I asked about it, the young woman said the crunchy taco deal is only for basic meats like ground beef. I told her that it doesn't say that anywhere on their menu at the store or online (they have the exact same menu on their website and at the store). So before you order, you should ask if there is an extra charge for everything since they don't have signs up and they don't tell you during your order. There was probably an extra charge for using card, too. EVERY other restaurant has signage for extra fees for anything. The only time I'd be back is to collect a refund of the price difference for THEIR mistake IF they even offer that. But I won't be back for any food. I'll stick with my usual restaurant for this craving. I don't like when stores don't honor their advertisements, especially if the advertisement is in more than one place. It's not about the price; it's about the principle. read more

I recently visited this location and had a bit of a mixed experience. The food is always delicious. However, when we returned to the restaurant because my order was incomplete (my tacos were missing).the staff seemed overwhelmed. One staff member in particular stood out - a kind and hardworking lady who, despite not speaking much English, was clearly doing her best to manage the situation. She seemed stressed, but her sweetness and dedication to her job shone through. It was clear she was the backbone of the team, and I felt bad that she was shouldering the weight of the chaos. The rest of her coworkers seemed to just be eating, the entire time if the staff could get a bit more support id definitely give this place a five star review. read more

I'm from San Diego and this is the closest thing I've gotten to filling that Taco Shop craving! Their Rolled Tacos hit great, their Crunchy Tacos are great too, and the Carne Asada Fries are fire! The red salsa they give is nice and spicy, with great flavor. Sucks to see the few that have had a bad experience here, I've been three times to this one now, and the one in Folsom, they're pretty consistently! Drive thru is convenient if you're feeling lazy, and the inside is decent enough to eat a meal with the family. It's a taco shop, and a damn good one too! read more

This review is only for Taco Tuesday at the Watt location. I got there about 5:00pm the drive through line was into the street. I decided to park and go inside. The line inside wasn't horrible and there were a plenty of tables if I'd planned ahead and stayed. You get three options for the $1 tacos, shredded beef, chicken or ground beef. That's not bad! I got 4 ground beef tacos (guilty pleasure) and a soda for $6.50 SCORE!! You're also given a bag for chips and the salsa bar has cups, chips are really good and the salsa was great. I waited maybe 10 minutes and there moving fairly quickly with the orders. The staff was really nice as well. Now the tacos, I can't remember if you're only option is crunchy but that's what I ordered. These are a crunchy premade shell. It's a real tortilla, not Taco Bell kind, but it's not fried with the meat in it like quesabirria, just so you know what you're getting. For $1 these tacos are great and I will be back to try the other meats, but the regular price is $4.99. I'm not sure I'd pay that for these. I'll be going back to try the other menu items and for sure on another Tuesday. Main advice, get out of your car! The wait is much less if you have that option. I realize moms of littles might be better off waiting in the line, but if that line scares you and you're able to, go inside it wasn't bad. I'll probably stay and eat next time, it's a cute little spot and you can feed a lot of tummys for little $$ Also, I tried to do the $1 order online ahead of time and didn't see that option, my cart kept the tacos as full price so it appears that's not an option for Taco Tuesday. Just something to keep in mind. read more

Taco Tuesday crispy tacos are only $1.50. Ordered 2 chicken, 2 ground beef, and 2 shredded beef all of which cost less than $10 after tax. For once there was not a huge line and food came out quick. The ground beef was very plain. The meat had no seasoning at all and the tortilla shell was a hard shell bought that way. The chicken was moist, but again a hard already made shell. The shredded beef was the best of the bunch and for some reason had a hard crispy shell, it was obviously fried on-site not purchased that way. Definitely made a difference in flavor and quality. The tacos contain a good amount of meat with decent lettuce, but barely any cheese. Some of the tacos you could not even see any cheese. read more

Churros 1/5: The churros are just plain, they barely coat the churros with the sugar/cinnamon seasoning Super Nachos 1/5: They give right amount of meat and salsa but the chips tastes very oily Crispy Taquitos: Way too crispy to the point it's hard to bite into it. Burrito 2/5: Nothing special. Crispy chicken tacos 2/5: Chickens are literally big chunks. Seems super lazy to chop them up. We asked for 2 side orders of onions and jalapeños because we always do through DoorDash & they usually fill and pack the entire container. However, this location literally gave us 3pieces of onions and 1 small jalapeños. What a joke! We asked for extra salsa because we had ordered so much food. Only gave us 4 total. Not really sure what's wrong with this location, but everything is so wrong compared to other Taco Exxpress locations. Won't be returning to this location anymore. read more

Tried this place last night around 10:30pm. There were a few cars ahead of us so I'm glad they're getting some business. 24/7 so I'm excited to have a Mexican fast food that reminds me of adalbertoes. The food came out really fast too! Got their quesabirria tacos (which comes with consume) and their carne asada fries. Everything was delicious! They weren't skimpy on the cheese and meat in the tacos and the consume had a good salty flavor to it and the fries were satisfying and crispy. Asked for red and green salsa and was given a good amount and it had a good spice to it too. I will definitely come back to try their other options. read more

It's more like 2.5 stars. I've been through the drive thru twice and both times they've forgotten things. I don't think the crunchy tacos are worth the price. It was weird to me how the meat tasted different each time. The shells are like premade & then fried so much that they crumble. The rolled tacos were so bomb the first time, but really weird tasting this time. I never get the salsas or any extras. They just forget to give them. I've heard that the burritos and the quesabirria are way better. I have also heard that there's better service if you dine inside. I'm going to try this place one more time and dine inside.
