I came here on Sunday. I was hungry and I signed up for the app when you first sign up, you get five dollars off more than $10. I was like cool and they had daily specials which is a burrito meal for like $11 which wasn't bad at all and so I got ground beef burrito with rice beans, cheese, and pico and a side of salsa and then I got some chips and queso plus a drink, the cashier. She provided amazing customer service and I dined in. The food was OK. It wasn't the best and the chips tasted really funky and I threw them away because they tasted nasty and they smelled funny to me and the burrito wasn't that good either so I would not be coming back over here but again it was not what I wanted at all read more

I was surprised at how much I like this place. It had average review and so I wasn't expecting much but it was pretty good. They have daily specials here and we came on Wednesday which was the wet burrito. It's chipotle style so you choose the protein, toppings and base. We opt for the fish as the protein and chose to add all the toppings/fillings. Once we were done, they added a bunch of cheese and then sauce and then more cheese. We stop in several times a month for a quick meal. The service is great, and the food is fresh. We have food allergies in our household, and the staff have always been careful when making my salad bowl or tacos, and I have never reacted here! If you're vegan, you can check out the website and look up all the vegan options (of which there's a decent amount). On 6/11/24 I purchased a Mondo Chicken Burrito from the downtown Kirkland Taco Del Mar. I cut it in half and bit into the first half. I bit into what I believe is a chicken bone. I immediately contacted Customer Service. Two days later I bit into the second half of my burrito and again bit into a second foreign object. A very reliable Taco Del Mar. One of the locations I still visit because it is consistently good.

Surprisingly enough.... This was my first time trying Taco Del Mar EVER. And I can say I don't really get the hype or anybody who really, really likes it. First and foremost... The lobby was full of a bunch of middle schoolers on their phones and refilling their cups, being loud and such. Employees weren't much older so they didn't mind and kind of let the kids carry on without purchasing. (I literally can't believe I just typed out that paragraph, does this officially make me old?) Anyways, I digress. I went simple and went with a burrito bowl. The bowls have rice, and I went with pinto beans, steak, guac, and kept the sour cream and pico de gallo, plus extra cheese. The bowl was okay. Chipotle is definitely a whole other level of flavor. The guac had definitely been sitting out for a while and had that overripe taste. Kind of just meh for me. It was a sad, sad day for me when BOTH of our local (Bellingham) Taco Del Mar locations closed their doors. I went through fish burrito withdrawals for a least a year, and found myself seeking out their other locations when we were on trips elsewhere. So imagine how happy I was to find they had a location very near a recent visit I made to the Kirkland area. Being as it was dinnertime, I quickly hurried over there for my signature dinner: an almost-super fish taco with whole beans and a combo of hot *and* medium sauce. O M G Okay I *know* they're a chain but still, they can make a fish burrito like nobody's business! With it's crunchy fish interior and all the fresh veggies on the outside, this baby is a serious contender for best-eat-in-your-car-lunch-EVER. I order it without their (ridiculously overpriced) add-ons of guacamole and sour cream, although it's hard to resist those creamy temptations. If you eat in, they also include a small side of chips (99-cents if you get it to go). But who are we kidding, TDM is designed to eat in the quiet solitude of your car. Wow - Unbeknownst to me I entered right after they closed. Lights on, door unlocked, and no indication they were not open for business. The guy tells me they are closed, so I ask then if it's OK if I just use the bathroom. He says, "The bathroom is for customers". I said - yes, I am a customer. He says, "but we're closed - go to Safeway." Nice. Closed or not - I was a customer the moment I entered with intent to purchase. More importantly I had been a customer many times before. Unless I receive an apology from the manager or owner of this location AND am assured that his people will be trained that it's OK to make an exception when basic human decency warrants it, I will NEVER be a customer of any Taco Del Mar ever again. Yes they have a posted sign on the door "Bathroom for customers only" so obviously they have a problem with folks just using their bathroom. I get that. Howver, if a legit customer walks in because you failed to lock to door and flip the Closed sign, do you really have to lose my future business because you refuse to do me this one kindness? read more

We purposely will drive to Kirkland to get out fix on! We lost two locations in Redmond but are thankful this one is left! Great quality of food, quick service and everything always tastes awesome! They were super fast and super friendly though the food was only mediocre at best. I had a pork burrito in a spinach tortilla, and it was huge! The flavor was a bit bland and it was overloaded with rice, but I was still able to stuff half of it t down my gullet for dinner and the other half for breakfast; oddly enough, it tasted better for breakfast (and it was cold!). Next time I get TDM I am going to save it for the next day when it will taste better-- it is weird to me when food taste better when it ISN'T fresh! Their fish tacos are delicious! There hasn't been a time when they used anything stale - it has all been fresh, hot, and made the way you want it made. You just ask for how you like it - a little bit of this, a little of that, lots of your hottest salsa - and they make it for you just like you want it. Came in, two women up front in Taco Del Mar t-shirts. One woman, was on a cell phone chatting away, the other one wandered away to the back -- all the while I'm up front looking to order. Sigh. Finally the one that wondered away comes back. The one on the cell still chatting away like a middle-aged teenager. Ordered the "taco salad" (otherwise known as a tostada). I appreciated the baked tortilla shell rather than typical fried one, but that salad was just depressing. They didn't have shrimp as other yelpers had said so went with chicken. Flavors were blah, not even the dose of cilantro and salsa could save this. Bottom line, this is like a rip off Chipotle, but just not good. read more
