8. Carnitas Plato, $16.95 - 3.5 Stars
Eva M.

El Burrito Mojado is a family-owned eatery that began as a food truck in 2011. Kudos to their expanded business! They offer a full menu of expected combinations of Mexican dishes. Their prices are quite good, and their portions were reasonable. Overall, a diner is getting a "no fuss, no excess" type of meal here for good prices. The restaurant is good size and simply decorated. We phoned in our order and picked up ourselves. We got our own salsas from the salsa bar. Service was simple. The Food: 8. Carnitas Plato, $16.95 - 3.5 Stars Seasoned pork, refried beans, Spanish rice, side of lettuce/dressings, and 3 tortillas. The amount of meat they gave for $16.95 was very filling. My hubby said this, and he is a big eater! A straightforward meal for a good price. 11. Five Taco Plato, $12.95 - 4 Stars This plate is literally 5 street tacos, nothing else. I like my street tacos exactly like this! Plain and simple, no rice, no beans. I chose 3 with carnitas, 2 with asada. Then I flood it with their runny salsa. This plate is a deal with the tacos at $2.60 each! The salsa bar was a bit of a sad state. We found a hair in one of the bowls, but that easily could have been from a customer. I won't fault them for it. Overall, the food is probably closer to 3.5 Stars rating. Because of their reasonable prices, I am rounding up to 4 Stars.

Two Piece Quesa Birria ($8.99), Side of Guac ($3 ish dollars)

The portions are generous, the prices are wonderful (hard to get humble prices around Seattle anymore) and the food is both flavorful, no-frills, and authentic. The interior boasts a surprisingly charming ambiance. The Quesabirria Tacos ($8.99 for two) were simply divine. They were enormous, cheesy, and incredibly delicious. The birria was succulent and exceptionally tender, while the consomme was rich and flavorful. Admittedly, it was a bit greasy, but that's characteristic of true quesabirria! My friend had ordered a burrito and it was gargantuan. Order at the counter and sit down. They even have a self-serve salsa / pickled vegetable bar!

I have been missing out on this place for years! New favorite taco place in Kirkland. I ordered 5 Adobada tacos and chips and salsa. The meat was perfectly seasoned and garnished with a healthy amount of onion and cilantro. Also, they don't skimp on the meat. The grilled jalepenos and onions were a nice addition. This, combined with the reasonable price with undoubtably have me coming back soon. I ordered and paid at the walk-up counter. Staff were friendly and food came out quick. Ideal for a work lunch or quick bite, but the ambiance is comfortable and pleasant enough to hangout for longer periods too. My favorite part: the hot sauce bar. Help yourself!

Fries and Burrito mojado

This is a simple hole in the wall restaurant but the food is excellent. My son absolutely relished his burrito and fries and the pollo chipotle was also great! Since it isn't a fancy places the prices are also low. A special mention must be made of the restaroom which was clean and well maintained. A good option to pop in, if you are having a Mexican craving and don't want to spend a lot of moolah.

A custom carne asada burrito

I'm from San Diego, California. I have yet to find any good places in Texas or Washington that can compare. Today is my birthday and I was going to chick fil a to get my birthday freebie and noticed this place along the way. I decided to take a chance and go! I walked in and it was SO CUTE! Definitely photo worthy. They didn't have exactly what I wanted, but I asked if I can do a custom burrito and she happily helped me! I asked for carne asada, pico de gallo, guacamole, and cheese. She informed me it would be smaller than their usual portions, and I told her that's perfectly fine! I was expecting to pay a lot, but it was EXTREMELY fairly priced! PLUS, it was a great size! This is my new favorite place, and I STAND BY this restaurant. Thank you for giving me the best part of my hometown! You guys will be seeing a lot of me!

I'm always looking for an authentic Mexican eatery. Someone recommended this place to me and I'm so glad I got to try it out. Huge portions, delicious food and very reasonable prices. They had a salad bar to add extras to your dish. Decor was amazing as well! Will come back soon.

After getting an oil change down the street I was looking for a quick place to grab a bite. I got 5 tacos--3 beef, 1 chicken, and 1 pork. The carnitas tacos were exceptional, possibly the best I've enjoyed outside of Mexico, but every single one was delicious.

Torta with cabeza
Linda T.

We dined in for dinner and it was a great night out. Parking lot is a bit small, but manageable to find a spot at night time when the other businesses in the plaza are closed. We ordered quesobirria tacos, mulitas, tripas tacos, and a torta with cabeza. I really enjoyed the tripas tacos! Definitely our go to spot for tripas now. I thought the torta was good, could have been better - the bread was a tad dry. Good condiments at their salsa bar next to the register. The cashier was nice and the restaurant was nice and tidy. We'll definitely be back for the tripas tacos.

Solid plates at reasonable prices. Great salsa bar. Recommend the burritos, carne asada plate, fried fish, everything we had here was good.

Shell was a bit hard but not crisp. Chips were...chips. Wish the salsa was more generous.

I need to caveat this review with I am a bit picky on tacos and awful at talking to people sometimes. Together that means, the fish taco is being compared to what I can get in San Diego and the latter is why I had all these tacos without salsa. All the tacos are fairly small so good snacking size. The size makes sense since the usual price is less than $3. The carne asada and carnitas are not bad. They would all benefit from eating with salsa. The fish taco was disappointing. I usually really like the sauce on a fish taco but this didn't stand out to me. It probably needed a bit of lime. Overall, it's good for taco tuesday. It's not somewhere I would go regularly. It is a local business that does encourage silly things, like a speed eating contest for the Totem Lake run club. Something that obviously worked because I spent money and watched.

I ordered my fav which is the chimichanga in chicken (please be aware shrinkflation is real and this little guy has definitely shrunk lol) still tasty and plenty for one person. We also ordered the Burrito Lanera, which is ginormous and I believe a seasonal Shrimp Tamale as well, both were very flavorful, but between the two I think the Burrito won. As always the Hibiscus Mango Sour is a clear winner and favorite with the fam so make sure you try it out if you haven't already Shout out to the wait staff, you guys are awesome and just to note for whatever reason it's quieter at the bar than the family section so if your wanting less noise that's the place to be

The bar was indoor only and it was a lovely day, so we sacrificed the discount for the sun. They have a fabulous mocktail selection at reasonable prices! I got a ginger mint fizz and it was so good- not overly sweet and just as cute as my friends' cocktails. Loved all the options. The queso was good too. I am vegetarian and they were able to have the meat on the side for us, which was lovely. I usually get the seafood enchiladas, which are amazing, but wanted something cold on a hot day. The waitress recommended the poke bowl, which I had never even heard of, and it was phenomenal! Refreshing, ample protein, great seasoning. Loved it and would get it again. I love that they have a whole gluten free menu online, makes it so easy for me. I will say, service is a bit on the slow side if you sit outside. Just much harder to waive down your server. We waited about 20+ min between her coming to our table, so we ended up being there about 2 hours when we could have been done in one otherwise.

This place would be great for date-night or get a drink or have a family meal. Our server was attentive and helpful, making a change for us last minute with a 'I gotcha ya' attitude - LOVE! Thank you! The food is so, so good! The Seattle area doesn't have enough 'soul', southern, creole, 'island' type of foods. This place fills the perfect niche. I have the urge to say 'hmmm, hmmm' dining here! Yum! Parking is free under the building, and nearby street parking tends to be available, too. The Food: Blackened Salmon, $33 - 5 Stars Menu: Salmon, corn soubise, fried plantains, fried okra We both wanted this as our main dish, so this is a 2X. The salmon is perfectly seasoned and grilled. You can SEE the seasoning on the fish. So glad they included pieces of okra. The frying/searing gives it the perfect chew. Fried Green Tomatoes, $15 - 5 Stars Menu: Green tomatoes, panko, egg, onion, Buddha's belly seasoning This dish is known as their must order. I have no clue what Buddha's belly seasoning is, but I can tell you it is tasty. Fried green tomatoes is a perfect southern dish (and I will always think about the movie). Wings, Jerk seasoning, $18 - 5 Stars Like many, we're suckers for wings. Even better if the seasoning is different. Jerk wings is rightfully popular, here. The sauce is generously applied, and every bit is delicious. The flavorful foods will have me returning for sure!
