We were staying at a hotel across the street and were looking for Mexican food. This is a fast food type of place but you choose your stuff...think like the Subway of Mexican food. Handed a little time before a meeting and I was getting hungry so I thought I would grab a little Mexican fast food! This was a mistake! I feel almost bad for writing this because of how nice the person was that made my fish burrito...she was friendly and did her best. The burrito was pure trash but I don't think it was her fault and I didn't get sick so just out a few bucks! Now that said, this was by far one of the dirtiest fast food places I think I have ever been in that wasn't super busy and at a truck stop / interstate stop somewhere in the middle of nowhere! I will admit I have been in far too many of those types of places. This place was just gross! Food all over the floor behind the counter, on the pans they store food in, between them, on the counters, splashes...and you could tell they had been there for a while! Say what you will about this place but I love it. It's my favorite fast food spot to get a burrito. I will actually crave them like a crack addict from time to time. Their chips aren't stale and the ingredients are always above average from other places. People seem to prefer Chipolte but not this girl. I'm a fan of the Baja burrito with chicken, usually toppings, jalapeños and the creamy Chipotle sauce. It's pretty great. The ambiance is your typical fast food style so nothing special. Why do people not come here! This place is one of those that wouldn't be top of your list to go to, but once you come here, you realize how much you actually like it. The service is great. It's always really clean in here. This place is a cheaper chipotle. And their cups are waaayy better than chipotle. Seriously. Perfect texture. I am a super fan of the Baja bowl. Rice, black beans, chicken.... All the toppings. Chips, salsa, cheese, and a drink. Less than $14. Like what the heck!! Come get you some. I think there is new management or something bc we tried Taco Del Mar again recently, and it was waaaayyyu better! We had nachos and Burritos, and they were both really good for a fast food place. The Shredded beef and pork were both given thumbs up by my teenagers. Three stars for the food which wasn't out of this world but decent. Less than stellar service from the employee, who after my husband asked for our cups was sharply told "You didn't order drinks." Considering I heard him and he certainly did, a more appropriate response might have been "Sorry I didn't hear you order drinks." Then when a new transaction was rung up for one drink, my husband responded "two drinks." The employee's response was "Can you just do it" (meaning pay for the transaction for one beverage so she could then ring us up for a second drink). Food is bland, staff was fairly rude. I had a stamp card that should've given me $5 off but the lady stamped past it and gave me a new card instead! I wish I could give negative stars! This place was FILTHY!!! We walked in and there wasn't a clean table in the place and all the employees were standing around talking doing nothing behind the counter; nobody in the restaurant at noon on a Saturday. The floors had yuck all over them and needed to be swept. Nasty. With employees standing around doing nothing makes you wonder. My boyfriend said "be open minded". I asked for limes and the limes had something on them - see picture. GROSS!!! I took my friend her for dinner for her birthday because it's one of her favorite spots, and i believe it just became mine as well! I couldn't decide between the shrimp tacos or the nachos! I'm very glad i decided with the nachos, they were so delicious and when i had asked for extra black olives the employee definitely gave me extra! :) I had an amazing time, and i still can't stop thinking of the nachos! OH MY GOD -- this place was so dirty!! As I'm sitting here looking at my food, I'm wondering if I'm going to be sick afterwards. First, the preparation line was disgusting, spilled sauce, lettuce leaves, tomatoes, etc. etc. She actually started building my food on top of old food on the counter, and couldn't even take the time to wipe it off! It was 4:30, no one was in there except me! A lot of the trays of food weren't covered, stuff looked old, dried out, not cared for. I said, "It looks like you were really busy today." She said, "No, not really." And one of her co-workers said, "She's just behind in her work." One server walked by it, going to the soda machine, but didn't sweep it up. * There was towel litter on the floor of the mens wash room, where I had to change my boy's diaper. By the way, I take all my diapers with me, when I leave a restaurant. And why did they have the washroom doors propped open with garbage cans? Walked in the door and was greeted immediately. Restaurant was clean, fresh coat of paint and new ownership. Had a nice visit speaking with the new owner. Enjoyed the burrito and the taco salad very much! I'd say the quality food has improved as well! We will be back! read more

Didn't see this one coming...tucked away on the street side of a mini-mall, squirreled away between a bunch of corporate junk and an Albertson's, is this gem, slinging up very wonderfully portioned and tasty lunch offerings. You'd never, ever go there for dinner, unless you were a fool (not sure it's even open for dinner), but for lunch, this is hard to beat. Inexpensive, filling to just the right level and reasonably flavorful, if you need something quick, this place is in definite consideration, should you be in the area. I wouldn't drive to it as a destination or anything but they do a great job and wait staff is very attentive and it really makes the entire experience a highly pleasant one. Very disappointed. The worst was my wife finding a hair in her taco last night (5/27/14 21:30) and having the employee deny it was theirs. It's possible that it wasn't said employees. It could have been in the food prep station. They did not try to make us feel better (replacing the taco or refunding food). I also personally hate when owners of a TDM franchise are being cheap by only using one corn tortilla. A single tortilla once wet falls apart. I've also seen the portions of queso and chips getting much smaller. The men's bathroom light was out and the women's bathroom didn't have paper towels. We normally stop by here on our way back to Seattle. Can't promise that will ever happen again. read more

Hmm... We've been here in the past, convenient after soccer games, but we're disappointed today. This should be negative stars-I go in and ask for a small bean burrito for a kid. I've never been to this place before but I'm traveling with kids and it was there! I should have turned around after seeing the old crusty / dry beans... anyhow, the kid pours water in the bean concoction and precedes to make the burrito. He asks me what kind of meat I want. I tell him again, just beans. That damn crusty a$$ thing was almost $6.00. They charged the same price as a biggo meat burrito? Are you kidding me? Don't waste your money. I can't see why this place gets poor reviews. I had the Two-fer Tuesday Deal (2 tacos, rice and beans, 22oz drink for $5.99). The tacos were delicious. All the ingredients seemed fresh and well prepared. I had pork and shredded beef, both of which were tasty. The rice and beans were good as well. For the same price as a combo at Taco Bell, you're getting a decent, freshly prepared meal. The decor is a little goofy, but that's a non-issue in my book. The staff was friendly and personable when I went. I wish I could give Taco Del Mar 3.5 stars, but I'll give it 4 to offset some of the lower reviews. Bottom line: give it a try. We love Taco Del Mar! We got hooked on it in Oregon, but unfortunately it seems the ones here differ from those in oregon. The food was good as usual, the fish for obvious reasons was not the same as in oregon, but the service was ridiculous. Your always on their time and they are super short and curt. read more

I want to start this off with saying I love Taco Del Mar. I live where there aren't any, so when I was visiting a town that had one I was very excited! We stopped in right before our 6 hour drive home. The service at this particular location is awful. I ordered a fish burrito which is my usual order, and the staff told me they were out of fish. No big deal. I decided to order a shrimp burrito instead. As soon as I ordered something different, the employee threw fish, that apparently they didn't have, into the oven. Every other location I have been to, the fish was cooked at the time of ordering, so I know it does not take long to cook. Also the employee didn't even offer for me to wait for the fish to cook. I totally would have waited for it. One employee was very friendly and helpful to my husband, but the employee that helped me was not very nice and acted like she hated her job.
