Went it to grab some breakfast burritos for the office. I asked for 20 of the standard. I was prepared to wait, I have a brain and realize they didn't have 20 ready for me and they aren't psychic. Anyway, I ask if they can please cut them in half. Not a big deal, I was just thinking not everyone wants a whole and if someone is extra hungry they can take two halves. Just thought it would make things a tad easier. They tell me no. They can't/won't cut in half. Ok, whatever. I don't understand what the big deal is, they obviously posses knives... just cut them instead of saying "no". So stupid. 20ish Minutes after waiting, the person who took my order said it would be 30 minutes to make. Which was weird cause what was going on for the last 20 minutes? 30 minutes to wait is fine, if you don't waste the 20 mins prior resulting in about an hour wait. So, I declined as now we are talking an hour to get 20 simple breakfast burritos. I needed to get to work and I wasn't wanting to wait an entire hour and they just wasted 20 minutes of my time not prepping anything, so I decided not to go with the burritos. Someone came to refund my sale and then preceded to kind of scold me for not ordering in advance. He said something about for an order like 20 burritos they want 2 days heads up. GTF outta here. It's freaking burritos. You don't need 2 days to make 20 burritos. And here's the thing, I'm not here for a lecture because I attempted to give YOU business. And I won't be back, either. When you get a customer to purchase your goods, be happy. Provide them the goods. Make it as soon as you can. Don't say no for no reason. Don't make anyone feel bad for trying to give you business. It would have been SOOOOO simple to make the burritos and quick run the knife through them. But, no, the choice was to do nothing for almost a half hour, to refuse to run a knife through them as asked, and then lecture a customer for coming in to order 20 items. This location was close enough for me to walk to on my lunch break. I came around 11:30 to beat the crowd and it seemed like a good choice as by the time I was finished eating there was quite a few people in line. The basic street tacos were more my style. I loved the Pollo Asado the most! They have a small toppings bar where you can add salsa and whatever else they have. The chips were a perfect to the tacos and I love the signage on the wall explaining how to eat a taco. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well! It's great to know about this spot being in the heart of downtown and a hop from the 16th street mall, perfect for a lunch pit stop mid shopping! I was a huge fan of the serve yourself cilantro and onion, cause your girl likes to load up. Oh yum! Ordered the fish tacos, chicken tacos and steak quesadillas for our family. Delicious! The first fish tacos I'd ever had were in Ensenada, Mexico many years ago and these were just as delicious. Nice amount of protein, fresh salsa and toppings (cucumber, radish, limes). Really delicious meats and tacos and very reasonable pricing. Clean restaurant and awesome service from the lady taking our order. I personally love the tripe, the crispy intestines, the tongue at taco places and I think based on how they cook the food here they would do well but totally understand the clients they service in the area, the meat selection is more American driven, your barbacoa, carne asada... all delicious - just wanting for more. I was excited to find and try a new taco restaurant in the heart of downtown. My first impression of the place was very good. The interior featured plentiful places to sit and enjoy your meal. The refreshment counter was very neat and organized and offered quite a variety of option. The staff was incredibly friendly and quick to help or suggest their favorite menu items. I ordered the Carne Asada taco and the Al Pastor with a side of their chips and a lime jarritos. To start off, these were some of the tastiest chips I had ever had. They felt fresh and made in house and had just the perfect amount of ingredients. The tacos were also tasty, with my favorite being the Carne Asada. The flavor was probably the best Carne asada taco I've tried in Denver, and I am definitely a street taco aficionado. They weren't greasy at all and with the red salsa and some onions and cilantro to top it, offered at the station at the counter, this was a perfect taco. The Al Pastor was a little on the bland side however. It wasn't greasy which i definitely appreciated, but I was expecting more from it. Once you order, they point out there is a "fixings station" where you can choose what to dress your tacos with. When I got my tacos, they looked a little underwhelming because they hadn't been dressed yet. I added radishes, some type of green sauce (I wish they were labeled and perhaps had a few more to choose from) and chowed down. The pastor was a definite winner for me, but it was the green sauce that really made it. The Cubano was a good. All in all, a solid spot that I would visit again. The carne had great taste which I added their hot salsa on. The Cubano was BUSTING with flavor! I loved it. These are street tacos so they're mostly 2 bite tacos. Would recommend a minimum of 3. Its location is very convenient to downtown - very walkable to a lot of different office buildings and hotels and the 16th St mall area. I've also never heard of a place with street tacos that doesn't have cilantro available without onions. Its been a couple months since Ive been here and it was great! The woman working the counter was the same one thats been here every time Ive been here before. Took a few minutes for the food to come out but it was always fresh and worth the wait. Plus, they always had a good selection of 6-7 sauces to choose from, my favorite breakfast burrito place to go for sure. Now it has completely changed. Theres some big kid with a dangly earring that clearly can care less about customer service. I ordered my food and was told they're out (I supposed they're out of the ingredients too). Went to my second choice, and they had the burrito out in about 20 seconds. That was cool but its hard amd tastes like its been under a heat lamp for 30+ minutes. Zero selection of salsa except for red or green. Even then, that was half full and when I asked for another cup that kid with the earring got mad and nearly slammed it down on the counter.
